Chapter 4 Temporary Residence

"Beta, please pretend to know Anna, okay?" The Alpha who usually never begged like this and was always firm suddenly changed in an instant just for the sake of the human he considered his mate.

"Alpha, is she your mate? Then, what about Shewolf? Maybe, she will be very angry if she finds out about this." Beta who had just arrived from Alpha's house was immediately told to pretend as if he knew Anna.

"Just do what I say. At least, Shewolf doesn't know about it for now."

Alpha holds Beta's shoulder, one of the werewolves he relies on the most.

"Alright." As Alpha's representative, Beta had to follow whatever Alpha told him to do.

The man with pure white skin walked towards the room he usually stayed in while on guard at Alpha's house.

"Hello, Anna ... Nice to meet you." The Beta's greeting sounded very awkward and woke up the brunette girl who was engrossed in looking at the lake outside from her bedroom window.

Hearing the call, Anna immediately turned her gaze towards the Beta who turned out to be named Chris.

Seeing the man who was always present in her dreams, the brunette girl's eyes lit up and she moved closer to the Beta. Hugging his body tightly.

"Chris, we finally meet again! I missed you so much!" she cried.

Of course, William couldn't see his partner hugging his subordinate. With one tug, he pulled Chris away from Anna's embrace.

"William, why are you bothering me so much? I'm cuddling with Chris!" the brunette girl looked annoyed.

"Please don't disturb us. I have a lot of questions I want to ask him," the brunette girl shooed him away.

Chris immediately shook his head at Anna. Anna shouldn't say that to the Alpha who was highly respected by the wolf packs in this region!

"No, I can't leave you two. This is my home, so it's up to me!" William replied.

For the first time, William felt annoyed with Chris. He glared at Chris to stay away from Anna!

"Anna, if you want to talk to me, Alpha ... Ah no, I mean William should be here too. I'm not used to being alone with the opposite sex," Chris said while cursing himself for calling William an Alpha.

William didn't want his identity to be known by Anna for now. He was afraid that Anna would leave him because he was not human.

"Okay." There was an exasperated sigh from the brunette girl. She asked William to close the door to the room.

Before William could do so, Chris had already closed the door. Of course, he felt bad that Alpha was scolded like that.

The brunette girl felt confused by Chris's movements when he was near William. However, that wasn't what was important.

Anna began to ask Chris and William important questions. "You guys, why did you choose to live in a creepy place like this? I've heard rumors of people being pounced on by wolves!"

The two werewolves coughed in unison at this. Why did Anna suddenly say that?

"Why, am I wrong?" she asked again with a confused look on her face.

"Ah, no. It's just that I was surprised to hear it. Since when do wolves prey on humans?" William replied.

"Don't wolves often prey on humans? There were three people nearby who were killed by those beasts," Anna explained. She told the two handsome men what she had heard from the locals.

Chris turned his face in a random direction. Looking at the peaceful lake. He didn't answer Anna's question. He didn't want to say the wrong thing!

"It wasn't a wolf! The proof is that we've never been pounced on by a wolf. And we're alive and well." William knew the news circulating among the people living on the forest side.

However, it was not a wolf. Rather, it was a Vampire clan that often targeted human blood.

Ah, yes, human blood! William and Chris looked at each other, both talking silently.

"Please tighten the guard for Anna. If the Vampire clan finds out there are humans in this area, there will be bloodshed for the umpteenth time!" William ordered Chris.

"Yes, Alpha. I will order the soldiers to stand guard in front of the house!" Chris replied.

Anna stared at the two handsome men with a confused look. Why were they both looking at each other with a serious look?

"What's wrong with you two?"

William and Chris immediately came to their senses and both smiled. "It's nothing. William and i were just thinking out loud, are wolves really that scary to the people at the edge of the forest?" Chris replied and tried his best to normalize his face so as not to look nervous.

"Wolves are indeed scary animals, aren't they? Just now, when I was lost in this forest, I heard a wolf howl." Anna shuddered in horror as she remembered that she was alone in the wilderness!

"Anna, tomorrow if you want to see something amazing, get up early in the morning," William said.

He already had a plan. How to make Anna gradually get used to this world!

"No, no. I want to go home. Please, take me home."

Anna looked pleadingly at William and Chris. To be honest, she was no longer curious about the two men in her dream.

However, she wanted to go home. Surely, her parents would be very sad if they found out Anna was lost in this wilderness.

"Go home? Anna, can't you just stay here?" William couldn't just let his mate go.

William had waited so long for his mate and he would never let her go.

"I can't. I won't stay here," Anna replied, "William ... Chris ... Don't you think about leaving this strange place? This place is so backward, the government must think it's uninhabited," she added.

William held both of Anna's shoulders. There was an indescribable vibration when he touched Anna's shoulders.

He was completely convinced that this was the match that the Moon Goddess had destined for him.

The beautiful face of the brunette girl captivated William's heart. The first time he met her, he had already fallen in love with Anna.

It was different when he was with Sheline-Shewolf who was now his lover.
