Chapter 5 Waiting For You

* ROWAN'S POV*

I've been waiting for her for the whole day, but she hasn't shown up. I looked out through the window, went outside, still no glimpse of her. I began to get more worried than before, and suddenly, the thought of the man I saw her with earlier slipped into my mind. I got curious and began to ask myself who he is? And why they're living together?

I was still deliberating on this when my phone suddenly rang, and I picked it up to see a message from Rebecca, Lorelei's best friend. I swiped it open, and it reads:

" Hello Rowan. I need a favor from you. Please don't tell her that I directed you there. Don't even mention my name in any of your conversations. Okay? Thanks for understanding."

I had a lot of questions to ask, cause I'm curious to know if Lorelei will come, due to her message. But on second thought, I decided against it, because I think she's just sending the message, should Incase I have the chance to speak with Lorelei, I shouldn't mention her.

I reread the text and decided to respond in the best way I could. " I've gotten your message. Just wanna let you know that you're covered."

The moment I drop the phone, the doorbell rings. I was taken aback, but then, I have to see if it's true. I glanced at the clock, 11:35 close to midnight.

" Could she be the one?"

As quickly as my legs could carry, I rushed to the door. Pushing it open, I came face to face with the woman that troubled my heart. She wore a deep red dress that's made of a silky material. It's sheer and form fitting, clinging to her every curve. Her nipples were hidden by the rosary design on the dress, but I could see her breast clearly.

" Hi!" She smiled at me, " can I come in?"

" Sure, of course." I step aside and she walks in. I couldn't help but to state at her as she moved across the room, her long dark hair cascading down her back in waves, her every step confident and graceful. She's like a goddess, and I found it hard to look away.

I shut the door and turn fully to her. " Thanks for accepting my request. I'm glad to have you here. You're welcome. Please take a seat." I gestured to her and sat down, and she did the same.

" Thanks." She muttered and glanced around the room. " Your house is beautiful."

" Please, what can I offer you?" I asked.

" Don't bother, I don't need anything. I'm okay." She replied.

" Are you sure? Or is it because you're still angry with me?"

" No! Although I'm a bit angry with you, that's not the reason why I'm rejecting the offer. It's just that....." She licked her lower lip, " I'm full. Like, I've taken a lot of things today. So I don't want to add up again. That's all.

I got up from where I sat and walked over to her. She shifted away from me the moment I sat down beside her, but I drew closer to her.

" Lorelei, I want to thank you again for agreeing to my request to speak with you, even though you hate me. You despise me, and I know how annoying it is for you to see me right now. But......" I paused for a while, to think of the right words to use, then continued.

" You have every right to be angry with me, yes you do. But to tell you the truth Lorelei, I do regret my actions. I don't know what came over me, I was just......." I paused again, then continued. " I don't know how to put it out, but I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. I didn't mean to break your heart. Please forgive me. Give me a second chance, and I promise to prove my love to you. I promise to take care of you, I promise to treat you right."

There's a huge silence and I was expecting her to say something, but she's taking forever. Suddenly, she rose up from the chair and turned her back and face me, her arms folded across her chest.

" I have heard you, and I'm glad that you have come to your senses Rowan. But there's something you're not telling me." She turned to me and added, " why did you break up with me before? Did I do anything wrong to you? Is there.........."

" You didn't wrong me in any way, Lorelei." I said and she gulped down and nodded her head.

" Then why......."

" I was confused." I got up from the chair and began to walk towards her. " I had trouble in my heart. I wanted to know the true feelings that I have for you."

" And you think the right thing to do was to break up with me?" She furrowed her brows.

" I wanted some space, and I vowed in my heart to come back to you the moment I realize that I truly love you. I didn't want to have a blind date. I needed to pull myself together, but I realize that I can't run away from my shadows. I've been searching for you, for sometime now, and I'm glad that I've found you. Although I was wrong, please forgive me. I'll really love is to get back together and forget about our past." I stood behind her and she left me and strode to the window.

" Are you still upset with me? Haven't you forgiven me? Or you don't want us to continue anymore? Is it because of the guy I saw you with earlier today? Is he the reason why you don't want me anymore? Is he your boyf......"

" It has nothing to do with him.i still want you, but........"

" But what? You're finding it hard to forgive me huh?"

" I'm finding it hard to believe you. A that you said. You love me, you wanted to give a space, you......." She gasped in shock and turned quickly to me, the moment she felt my hands on her waist. "Okay." She muffled, and I quickly look at her face.

" Is that a yes?" I asked and she nodded slightly, but I wasn't really convinced. So I ask, " can I kiss you?"

She hesitated for a moment, before responding. " If you want."

I raise my hands to her face, and brush off the strains of hair, which crosses her face. Then cupped her cheeks and kissed her deeply. She slid her tongue into my mouth, and placed her hands on my shoulders, clinging onto me tightly, while her hard nipples pressed against my chest.
