Chapter 9 Human blood

Down below the dark, cloudy sky indicating the coming of a downpour, the trees wavered and the nocturnal birds cried out giving the forest a noisy environment.

The whimpers of Rielle was also loud enough as she was being dragged by a shabby looking wolf with it furs a dirty brown color. It was an unusual color.

Without being told, Rielle knew who the wolf was. He was a lone wolf. She made the loners in her story have a different, unusual furs, unlike the others. This set them apart from the rest of their park and that makes them an outcast.

The wolf kept dragging her with it fangs into the dark, cold forest, until they got to the middle, where he let go of her. Immediately, five more wolves joined him. They also had same fur.

A lone wolf wasn't supposed to have a companion unless they formed an association of being a group without a leader. A group of loners can be dangerous and cruel as they do whatever they want without being controlled by anyone.

"Let go of me!" Rielle cried, knowing the dangerous situation she was in.

The wolves soon surrounded her each growling with their mouths opened and their saliva dripping to the ground.

"I heard you are the creator. The moon goddess of this world." One of the wolf, standing on a rock said in a raucous voice.

There is one thing about the loners and that is, they can't and don't have the ability to transform back into humans. Few of them can talk while few can't.

"I don't know what you are talking about. Please let me go." she cried, but that only made the wolf grunt.

"I smell human blood....," he said, emphasizing on the last word 'blood'

"You are mistaken. I am a werewolf too." Rielle answered quickly and her thought went to Alex. Why wasn't he there to rescue her? She was in danger and he was no where to be found.

"Darn you Alex. Darn you stupid wolf." she cursed and bit her lip.

"You will make a fine meal and your powers would be mine. Finally, I will become invincible and get all the powers in this world. Even Mercury and Jupiter wouldn't be strong enough to stand before me." he claimed and laughed out loud.

"Are you sure about that?" A voice asked and they all swirled their heads to where it came from.

A few distance away from them stood Alex, standing on the large space, where the trees didn't grow. As if sensing his presence, the cloud gave way for the moon, which shined forth it light, giving a better view of Alex's good looking face.

Rielle heaved a sigh of relief and placed a hand on her throbbing chest. "Thank goodness!" she mumbled to herself.

Seeing who was standing before them, the loners all shivered in fear. His presence was enough to tell them their fate. Never did they expect the alpha of the dark wolves and the king of Mercury to be standing right before them.

Alex on the other hand never took his eyes off them. His impassive face was enough to give them the chill. No one knew what was going on in his mind or what he was feeling that very moment, which made it even more frightening.

"Mer....Mercury?" The lone wolf who could talk, spoke up in a shaky voice.

The other wolves tried running away but they got stuck to the ground. There was no escape for them.

"Pl.....please have mercy." The one who could talk pleaded but Alex was one of no mercy. Mercy is a word that is never found in his dictionary.

He took a step forward and that caused the falling leaves to lift up due to the wind that moved with him as he walked. He got to the one who could talk and before the loner could speak, Alex dug his claws into his chest and pulled his hand out with his heart. The wolf fell lifeless to the ground. He did that to the other four, which each of them hearts being pulled out.

Rielle, even though trying to be a tough girl, couldn't stand the sight. The sight of blood and bodies being brutalized caused her head to hurt as the memories she thought she had forgotten rushed into her head.

She witnessed as someone was killed before. She was supposed to be a witness to the case then but she was threatened. She kept shut and has being quiet about it since then. She was just eight.

Alex dropped his bloodied hand and looked at her. She was still seating on the floor, whimpering. He walked to her and stood beside her.

"Go back to the palace. This forest is dangerous." he said firmly and walked away.

Rielle looked at him until he was out of sight. She was all alone in the forest again. She quickly wiped her tears and stood up. Staying any longer might mean her death. Alex wasn't fair at all. He left a lady behind.

Rielle hurried back but little did she know that she went the wrong way. She never noticed the wrong path she followed until she got to the end of the cliff.

She looked around, wondering where she was. "Where..... where am I?" she asked.

The heavy, wheezing breeze blew on her exposed skin causing her to shiver. First, she was taken away to the forest by a loner. Then she was left alone by someone who promised to protect her.

Her knees went weak and she fell to the ground. "Is my life also unfortunate in this world." She shut her eyes as tears flow down her cheek.

Rielle remained that way until someone walked to her and stood behind her. "I thought I told you to go home?" The familiar voice asked.

She gasped and quickly stood up. Behind her was Alex, staring darkly at her. A huge part of her was relief but another part of her just wanted to kick him in where it would hurt so badly.

She stared at him for a while before she finally flared up, allowing that little part of her to overtake her whole emotions. She walked to him and without a warning she got hold of his collar.

"How can you be so cruel? Is this our deal you evil man!" she roared.
