Chapter 4 School

"Sweetie, wake up, it's time for breakfast!"

Hearing my mother's yelling from downstairs kitchen, I just turned over in bed and fell asleep again. The sunshine was shining on my back and my bed was so soft all the time, which made me feel warm and comfortable. Then I started to have sweet dream.

The door slammed open, and there was someone dragging me from my soft bed. I knew it was him and he was so annoying for disrupting me in almost every single morning.

Opening my eyes, I saw my elder brother was looking at me with his merciless smirk on his handsome face. Well, I was accustomed to his wake-up way.

　　"Wake up, you lazy girl." said he, emotionless.

　　"Well, stop dragging me first! I'm up!"

　　"It's your honor to have such a considerate brother to wake you up every morning."

　　"Oh, my god, I haven't seen such an arrogant and narcissistic man like you before." I sneered at him.

　　"Oh, really? Thanks for praising me. Anyway, you're going to be late for school if you don't get up quickly. By the way, my car will not await you if you can't arrange yourself well in twenty minutes." Finishing his words, he got out from my bedroom.

　　I got up from my lovely bed, looked at my alarm clock, and found it was 8:40 now. The first class will begin at 9:00. I must be quick, then I rushed into my bathroom. After taking a quick shower, brushing my teeth, and doing my hair as well as light makeup, I went to my closet to put on my favorite long dress. 　　

Looking at the mirror, I was very satisfied with today's appearance. Then I grabbed my bag and rushed downstairs.

　　"Alice, come on, I have deliberately prepared your favorite breakfast." Saying this, my mother brought a plate of pancakes on the table for me.

　　"Thanks, mom, I love you." I came towards her and kissed her cheek, then sat down.

"Did you sleep well last night?" She asked.

"Not bad, I stayed up late chatting with Bella on the phone last night, so I got up late this morning." Taking a bite of my pancake, I said slowly. Bella was my best friend since we went to primary school.

"What did you talk about?" My mother asked curiously.

"In fact, it's nothing. She's going to have her 18th birthday in two months, so she's a little nervous. I just comforted her, that's all." I said slowly.

"She is really a lovely kid. It's still two months before her birthday. But now she is beginning to be nervous. Hahaha, she is always like this--worry about something that hasn't happened yet. However, it reminds me, honey, next week is your 18th birthday. Are you nervous? And are you ready for it?? my mother suddenly asked.

Yes, next week is my 18th birthday.

"Well, I'm not nervous at all," I replied.

"She's a sleepyhead. I think she only has "sleep" in her mind, so she won't be nervous!" my brother interrupted.

"Mom, please let this annoying guy shut up!" I rolled my eyes at him.

Mom just looked at us, chuckling and shaking her head.

　　"Okay, are you finished? We have to go now!" Herry asked me as he took his bag and tossed it over his shoulder.

　　"Yeap. Thanks, mom. We will come back soon after school." I hugged her and said.

　　"You're welcome, honey. Have a good day both of you."

"You, too. I love you." My brother said goodbye to mom.

　　He walked ahead and I followed him. Then we continued on to his car and drove off to our school.

　　Our school was situated in the middle area. And there were both supernatural creature from different species and normal human students. Of course, human were unaware of our real identity. Blessed with superpower, we, supernatural creature, can easily tell human from the other superpowered. But we rarely dealt with other supernatural creature. On the contrary, we were more willing to stay in our own groups.

　　"Alice!" I heard the calling from Mary.

Turning around, I saw Mary running towards me with her books in her left arm. Mary is my another friend. She is a beautiful girl blessed with blond long hair, hazel eyes, darker tanned skin and slender figure. In fact, she is also from my family's flock. Her family is the beta of our flock.

"Hi, honey, why did you come as late as now?"She came to me and hurriedly asked me.

"Um...I got up late this morning."I chuckled at her.

At this time, Herry got out of his car and winked at Mary, "Hi, beauty, how are you?"

All of a sudden, Mary blushed with her face crimson.

I turned around and said, "Hey, go for your own friends. Don't tease my friend."

"Well, I did nothing but greet with her. All right, continue your conversation and see you later." Finishing his last word, Herry walked away.

"Well, Alice, are you free today? I want you to go shopping with me. By the way, did Bella call you last night? She told me on the phone yesterday that she also wanted to buy some clothes as preparation for her 18th birthday ceremony in two months. In addition, it's your 18th birthday next week, right? I think you should also buy some new clothes." Mary said plausibly.

"Yes, let's go together after school. Bella may have been in the classroom. Let's go and find her." After that, I took Mary's arm and walked towards the classroom.
