Chapter 3 About mate

Although the war was dreadful and ruthless that had destroyed almost everything at that time, every supernatural creature was finally bestowed with a "great gift" since the war was over--

In fact, since the end of the war, the Moongoddess could not bear to see that her creation had experienced such great pain. Thinking of the old wolf king's poor little girl who sacrificed for love, the Moongoddess realized that one will become so unfortunate and miserable if he/she can't find his/her true love and their life will be incomplete too. The Moongoddess thought everyone had the right to find their own happiness as well as the right mate they like. So she decided to give every supernatural creature a gift. This precious gift is----

"Mate".

Each supernatural creature will have his/her own mate, who is their other half, the other part of their own soul.

Of course, we can't feel our own mates from birth. Our own mate will be awakened only when we reach the age of 18 and finish our first shifting. Then our own mates will guide us to find the right person - the destined soul mate.

Our mate and we share the same gender, but they are only a part of us. In addition, they have their own names and personalities. Once they are awakened, they will exist in our bodies. We can feel them, hear them, and even talk to them.

Our mate will help us find our true soul mate according to the special "scent". Once they recognize the scent of our soul mate, or they feel the existence of this unique smell, they will immediately be awakened from our bodies, and then tell us to pay special attention to someone, and finally guide us to find our right mate. They are like lighthouses standing in the dark, guiding us to find direction and love.

But everything has two sides. Here is a cruel fact - not all supernatural creature in our world can have a soul mate who can marry us and accompany us forever. Why?

As I said before, united marriage has been banned among supernatural world species since the end of the war. This means that if your soul mate and you are not from the same species you can't marry and be together even if your own mate helps you find him/her.

Therefore, that law was a cause of one-to-many heartbreaks, as many fated mates got rejected because of it, as the heartbreak would cause them to slowly lose their minds or life itself.

As time passed by and many hearts and souls became broken.

This is really a gift that everyone loves and hates!

At the same time, the Moongoddess decided to take things into her own hands and try to change things for the better again.
