Chapter 2 2...Mate ...

The crowd yelling out Cody's name confirmed his popularity. He stretched out his arms in pride as he savored the hype.

Cody's opponent arrived. He is a very bulky man, without a smile on his face. He looked like someone who's ready to tear Cody apart. Fear gripped me.

"BIG BEN! BIG BEN! BIG BEN!" The people screamed his name, almost damaging my eardrum.

I linked my mind to Cody to talk to him telekinetically. Mind communication is something common among werewolves. 'Maybe you should just cancel the fight'

"Hell, No!" He replied back with the mind, sounding stubborn.

I sighed. I knew he would never agree I cancel the fight. Cody is never soft, always so tough even when death stares directly at him.

'Please, don't die on the ring' I pleaded softly since I know I can't talk him out of the fight.

He turned his head towards me and smiled 'I won't'

The refreee jumped to the side of the ring in his wolf form, and howled for the fight to start.

Cody and big Ben took their fighting positions, staring fiercely at each other and reading their actions, trying to predict each other's moves.

I placed a hand on my chest in an attempt to calm my nerves but it wasn't helping.

Big Ben was the the first to attack with a loud roar, hitting Cody with his large, scary hands. Cody staggered but soon gained his composure. He tried to strike big ben, but the guy is just so bulky for my brother. Honestly, this isn't a fair match. Whoever set up the fight is crazy and my first guess is the Alpha. I mean who else is as fucked up in the head as the Alpha to set up a fight like this?

Big Ben carried Cody over his shoulders, roaring in pride while the crowd screamed his name in encouragement.

I squeazed my top tightly, feeling tensed. I shut my eyes, not having the courage to watch my brother get smashed on the ring floor. If the fight scenes gets too much for me to handle, I'll have to barge into that red door and talk to the Alpha to cancel the fight.

I opened my eyes when the crowd started to scream Cody's name. I saw that Cody had used his stature as an advantage. He found a way to sink his claws into big Ben's shoulders, and got down from his body.

I sighed in relief.

The referee jumped to the side of the ring still in his wolf form and howled twice, then the two fighters on the ring bent forward their hairy arms which made a cracking noise and they both fell to the ground, changing into their wolf form.

My brother's wolf is surprisingly almost as tall as Big Ben's wolf. Cody is light brown in his wolf form, while Big Ben is dark brown in his wolf form. They snarled at each other, slowly rounding the ring. Big Ben suddenly jumped on Cody, determined to weaken him with claws and bites.

Cody raised his head to push his opponent and lurched forward immediately to tackle him down without giving a breathing space. Big Ben tried to get out of Cody's attack, but Cody used his strength to hold him down, sinking his teeth into his furry skin, until big ben gave up, and that was how Cody won.

I subconsciously screamed along with the crowd in happiness. Cody and I are going home with some money tonight.

The net door to the fighting ring was opened and I rushed to meet Cody. He is still in his wolf form, howling softly. I rubbed his head with a smile.

I felt him opening and linking his mind with mine to have the mind communication with me.

'I bet you're proud of me' He said with his mind making me laugh. I'm just so happy he's alive and okay.

I abruptly stopped my laughter when I perceived a familiar scent.

Blood and flowers.

It came nearer and nearer till it became intense.

I looked around the hall which is now weirdly quiet. I was desperate to get where the smell came from.

I sighted the beta and turned my attention to him, the smell was coming from around where he stood. At first, I thought it was directly from him, until he stepped aside to reveal the stoic Alpha. Alpha Randall.

The moment my eyes met with Randall's icy ones, just like the last time, I knew the weird smell was directly from him. I felt the familiar sensation all over my body and this time, I couldn't stop gazing at him.

He is dressed like a gentleman, but when you search into his mind, all you get is his roughness. He is in a fitted, black long sleeve shirt and black pants. His brownish gold hair shined in the dim light, and his large hands which had ripped out a lot of beating hearts in the past, remained at his sides.

He was standing straight, observing the hall with his grayblue eyes which had more gray than blue making them look like an ice.

His stance is confident and alluring, his gaze is sharp and observing and he's got a nice physique which would make any girl swoon over him. The dark aura that surrounds him didn't go unnoticed by me.

He didn't even notice my presence in the hall, or maybe he pretended not to which is a good thing, I guess? Something tells me he can also perceive the weird bloody__flowery scent.

He suddenly turned his head to my direction. My jaw dropped and my heart skipped a beat.

Fuck. Not again. I shouldn't make eye contact with him. I shouldn't.

He scrutinized me, while I found it hard to read his mind, despite the strange, instant connection I felt with him.

I sensed his alpha power radiate through me, seeking access to my mind for linking. I wonder why he wants a mind communication with me. I wanted to deny his access to my mind but the amount of his power surging through me is too much for me to handle. I've never felt anything like this before in my entire life. He had the capability of shaking anyone with his alpha power.

'Hello'

Even in my head, his voice manages to drip with evilness.

'It's nice to see you again, mate'

His last word got me puzzled. Mate? I blinked in confusion, then suddenly, the weird smells and sensations began to make sense to me. The sensations in my whole body, the blood, the flowery scent, the unexplainable pull, everything is happening all because he is my mate.

Of all guys out there, The Moon goddess decided to chose Alpha Randall as my mate.

My life is so fucked. Moon goddess, why? Fucking why?
