Chapter 4 The reflection on the past

During lunch, Liam's attitude earlier became the topic of discussion. People were wondering why the sudden change of his behavior, why he walked to Mia's desk and what he gave to Mia. Mia herself didn't follow the others to lunch that day.

Back at the office, Mia knocked and entered Liam's office where he displayed a variety of foods. "I ordered way too much food and I want you to have some" , Liam said to her. Mia looked so shocked and refused saying she needed to join her colleagues or it might raise some false suspicion. Liam asked her if she preferred he throw the food away instead. If you are worried about people thinking why you are alone in the office with me then i go out and join them for lunch instead. Mia asked if he is sure since he had never had lunch with his workers before.

Liam went out leaving Mia no choice than to eat, while eating she was thinking why all of a sudden Liam changes towards her, she finally concluded that maybe he is regretting and making amends for how he treated her.

At the restaurant where the workers were having lunch, Liam gently worked towards them. He sat with them, leaving everyone at the table very uncomfortable. One of the workers asked, "sir, are we in trouble or maybe you have some information to deliver to us?" Liam hastily replied no and told them he actually wanted to have lunch with them." Can someone help me order food? I'm not familiar with things here", said Liam. When the food was brought he asked them to feel free and eat, they can even take extra time if they want. He didn't even finish his food when he left them. They returned from lunch and saw Mia at her desk busily typing something, he was glad and delighted that she ate the food. The foods was actually prepared by Liam's maid at home, he asked her to prepare enough for two people, and when he said two people, he had Mia in mind.

After work that day, Liam decided to confide in his old classmate since he was the one that encouraged him to go and apologize to Mia.They went to a VIP drinking bar where Liam told him that, he has now realized that he is madly in love with Mia. He also said he tried denying this feeling but it keeps growing and the urge to be around Mia and do something nice for her is uncontrollable."I think I'm losing my mind and I think I am now ready to confess my feelings to her", said Liam. "Yes Liam tells her, tell her how you feel, there's no harm in trying and I know for sure she will not reject you".

The next day Mia wasn't coming to work and finally called in sick, she was suffering from stomach ache. That day at work, Liam was easily pissed off at the least provocation and shouted at the workers. He looked so tense and was always watching his wrist watch as if the day would never end.

Immediately working hours were over, he stormed out of the office without saying anything to anyone. He drove to Mia's place, she was her looking all pale and weak. "What are you doing here Liam? You should either be at work or preparing to go home"?, she asked Liam. I feel bad for giving you food to eat and the next day you called in sick."I feel responsible for what is happening to you, therefore i'm here to take care of you", Liam said. He didn't give Mia a chance to even say no,he quickly entered the kitchen to prepare something for Mia before remembering that the only thing he ever did in a kitchen was to boil water. He quickly pulled out his phone to watch how to prepare some soup online. He followed the instructions step by step till he was done with the food. He scooped some for Mia and brought it to the bed where Mia was sleeping. "Liam you don't have to do all these for me, i can manage on my own" she said to him.He positioned Mia well and gave the food to her. Mia immediately spit out the food and rinsed her mouth with water. Why, Liam asked ," is the food too hot"."No it is actually too salty" Mia responded". " I tried pretending but the salt content is too much making it difficult to swallow,i'm sorry", Mia said to him. Liam complained that he strictly followed the instructions so, the fault should be from the one teaching how to prepare the food, he was even boasting of how he never fail at anything he try his hands on. Mia laughed at him while he was complaining and bragging, she asked Liam to order some food instead. The food came in and both Liam and Mia ate, Mia took her medicine afterwards and immediately fell asleep.Liam packed the remaining food to the kitchen and when he returned, he noticed that Mia's temperature was high, she was literally boiling. Ignorant of what to do, he quickly took out his phone and searched again, after his research, he fetched a bowl of water, dipped a towel inside and placed it on Mia's forehead. Mia's temperature went back to normal after some time which made Liam less worried.

Mia woke up at dawn and saw Liam sleeping on the couch, she smiled when she saw him in this manner. She went back in and brought a blanket to cover Liam ,she bent closer to him and admired his handsome face with flirty thoughts in mind.

Mia finally realized and thought to herself that Liam is in love with her and should he ask her out, she will gladly accept because she fell in love with Liam the first time she saw him. Liam woke up the next morning and noticed that he was covered with a blanket, he was so happy that at least Mia showed some act of care towards him." It's a good start", he said.

He walked towards the kitchen and saw Mia preparing breakfast, eat something before you go home and change for work,Mia said. Liam enjoyed the breakfast and left, when leaving, he told Mia to take some days off until she fully recovers, he even added that it was a command. Liam became a regular visitor in Mia's house with the excuse of checking up on her. One fateful weekend, while Liam was at Mia's place chatting and laughing, there was a knock at the door. Mia stood up to check and realized that her colleagues from work are here to visit her. She hurried back inside to inform Liam about the situation at hand. Liam asked her to send them away but Mia told him it was impossible, while they were still deciding on what to to, the door was banged once again and this time louder and it was continues. They were also pressing the door bell.
