Chapter 2 The discovering of new feelings

Mia, who was so frightened, gathered some courage and turned and saw who was following her. She was so shocked when she saw Liam who was looking as sparkling as he always is, he couldn't find words to describe why he was caught following her. Mia welcomed him to her house,offered him water to drink before asking him what his mission was.Liam couldn't find his words to apologize instead he ignored her question and began asking Mia how she was surviving in a house with inadequate space and poor lighting like this.

"Sir i am fine with where i am and i believe you didn't follow me all the way up her to criticize my space", she said. Silence filled the room which made both Liam and Mia so uncomfortable until Liam spoke up," someone else confess for being responsible for leaving the doors open which attracted the robbers in the office. But to can't blame me totally for unfair judgment, you are to be blamed too because, you are always so clumsy which made me believe you are at fault" he said. "Liam I'm also sure you are not here to say just that or shit blame" said Mia. "Fine", said Liam arrogantly, "sorry for accusing you wrongly and I hope you can return to work".

Mia declined Liam's request which amazed and hurt his pride so much, he left Mia's house so bored at himself for stooping so low to her level and at the end got rejected, he even regretted listening to his friend's advice.

The company was still without a secretary which made the other worker perform extra tasks.

Mia on the other hand decided to take extra care of herself since she has nothing to do for the meantime,she decided to change her whole wardrobe, change her hair and adopt the use of some cosmetics products like make up and other skincare products. She even took fashion help and advice from professionals.

Mia's change in appearance made men follow her everywhere she went, she took so many new adventures such as trying new restaurants, clubbing, swimming,cooking class and a whole lot. She was the happiest during her unemployed days.

The company was very busy on one fateful day because the company will be launching a new machine which caught the eye of the general public, calls from reporters here and there, also calls from investors were trooping in too. Everyone was busy with work and a call came in again, suddenly a voice answered, "you are speaking to Mia from Liam's Tech company", everyone was left dumbfounded when they saw the person speaking, a very pretty nice lady, dressed in a nice and latest vintage top and a pair of high waist skinny jeans, the jean brought out her curves the more and also revealing her hourglass body shape. One of the ladies inquire from the lady who she was and she replied," this is Mia guys, can't you recognise me".

Mia received so much compliment that day from her colleagues about her new look, they were all happy she came back as well .Liam was also happy but as usual he did not express it. Mia's composure at work has immensely improved, she was now careful with how she carried herself at work. It was as if a new soul was living in her body. This new attitude of Mia caught the attention of Liam, he started developing some strange feelings of liking towards Mia.

Work at the company went on as usual and the machine was successfully launched. Liams company was invited to a partnership celebration which requires all the workers to be there and be present as couples.Everyone was expected to come with a date,they all paired themselves h except Mia who didn't get a date, not because no one wanted to go with her but because no one was left among her colleagues. They were all wondering what to do when they heard a voice asking Mia to be his date,everyone was astonished when they saw that it was Liam. Mia accepted after several contemplation and pressure from her other colleagues.

The day for the event came and everyone showed up looking all good,people wore their best of dress but Mia's look was extra ordinary, it was as if she had a spell on beauty on her, she was the center of attraction that evening.So many businessmen made advances towards her which made Liam so angry,he shouted at Mia to stay focus so that they go greet other business partners rather than showing her teeth to every man that comes her way. Mia didn't understand why he was getting angry at anything she does. After the party, Liam offered to drop Mia home which sounded weird but she accepted.Because Mia was a little drunk, she was able to chat freely with Liam, they had so much fun chatting, they spoke about everything that happen at the party and even some work related issues. Mia told Liam about her life growing up as a child, how she had rich parents and siblings whom she loved so much, she had everything at her disposal, thus to say, she had an easy life, she was loved by both her colleagues and teacher at school for being the most beautiful and intelligent student until she lost her parents and siblings in a fatal accident.From there life took hold of me. The people she called friends at school redrew themselves from her because she couldn't live to their elite expectations again. Liam was so felt bad for her but was ignorant of how to select the right words to comfort her, the car was suddenly filled with silence until he dropped Mia home.When Liam got home ,it suddenly dawned on him that he was angry when men approached Mia,he found it wired and didn't understand why he was angry.

The next day at work,Mia didn't report early which made Liam very worried. Anytime the office door opens, he stands up to check if it's Mia, he continued until Mia finally showed up, he was completely happy throughout the day just by seeing Mia,he even wished that working hours won't be over.

From that day on, everything Mia does makes Liam very happy, he finds delight in just looking at Mia,and gets very angry when other male workers come close to her.

He explained what was going on to his friend who told him he wasn't angry but rather jealous. He realized that he was gradually falling in love with Mia.

Mia started receiving anonymous gifts from a particular person who claimed to be her secret admirer,something the gifts are delivered to the office and somethings to her house, which means that the person knows where Mia lives and even works.The gifts sometimes come as flowers, chocolates,wine,accessories etc. Mia's colleagues told her by the looks of the gifts the person should really be wealthy.Mia who was actually confused and afraid didn't touch or use any of the gifts she received but gave it to her colleagues who where willing to take them.

One Friday,after a long day at work,Mia got home, prepared dinner,took her bath and was relaxing on the sofa in the living room. She suddenly heard a loud knock on her door.
