Chapter 5 Can women survive

Immediately after Ira left the house I began looking for Richie, he had alot of explanations to do , I huffed after searching the whole house and not seen even his shadow

" Babe"

I heard Garry say while I turned to look at him

" What about Richie?"

I asked trying to be as calm as possible but the moment I'll see that bast@rd I'll slice his throat open and dump his body for the vultures to feed on

" He stepped out for a bit"

Garry said as I rushed outside, I hope that idiot didn't follow Ira , i was about turning back when a video popped into my phone, I opened it to see Ira in an hotel room searching for something, she looked dizzy and confused, before I could dial out her number her call already came in

📞 I'm on my way

I said quickly getting my keys and rushing to the hotel. The hotel staffs opened the door from outside as I rushed to hold Ira who was on the bed weeping herself to death

" Where's that animal!"

I yelled while the staffs just looked at each other

" He came here with her, he carried her in his hands, we thought she was probably drunk since this wasn't the first time they came here together, he checked out a few minutes later and asked us to relate the message to her that he had gone when she eventually wakes up "

A staff said as I itched my head

" This hotel is very careless, forget about that, did you find any ring?"

I asked surveying the room with my eyes

" Oh yes, madam, I think you boyfriend wants to propose to you, we saw the ring and he thanked us before taking it "

She said smiling at Ira who was not even comprehending all that the staff was saying and neither could I , what the hell was Richie up to?, If he sent me a video of Ira does it he has their s£x tape in his custody

" Just leave me way!"

I yelled helping Ira up as we left the hotel. We arrived at her house around 12 as I took her to the bedroom

" You should go home, it's late, this is my problem and I'll handle it"

Irane said in tears , I held her hands fighting back my tears

" When it comes to the both of us, we share our problems, you carried my problem on your head and I'll carry yours too "

I said while she raised up her gaze to meet mine

" That was a long time ago"

She said taking her handkerchief

" To me, it seems like yesterday"

I said picking up my bag

" What do i do, how will I get my rings back?"

She asked no one in particular

" I have a friend, his a goldsmith , I'll take a pic from my phone of your wedding ring, he'll make them. Hunter won't notice a thing "

I said searching for his number

" He may not notice but it won't feel the same, I'm not sure I can ever look at Hunter again "

Ira said as fresh tears came flooding out, I stood up checking outside the door to see if anyone was outside

" Ira dear, you need to brace yourself and stand back up, we don't know what plans Richie has or we may never hear from him again. Everything has happened and there's no going back, if you don't act fast Kate may notice something, hunter may notice something. The music has changed so you need to change your dance steps too. The secret stays and dies with us. Now get some rest, I'll bring the rings tomorrow and you wear them with pride. Goodnight "

I said getting up

" Goodnight "

She returned going into the bathroom. I dropped my back on the table and sat down on the chair taking off my shoes

" Where are you coming from? "

Garry asked turning on the room lights, I turned to him staring at him on the chair

" There were things I needed to sort out "

I said grabbing my towel

" Don't you walk out on me, I asked you were you're coming from this late of a night. Are you cheating on me? "

He asked getting up

" I said I needed to sort things out didn't you hear me! "

I yelled going inside the toilet, I was already boiling with anger if not because of his usel£ss friend Irane wouldn't be in trouble.

The next day broke quickly as I prepared Oprah for school, we were already down the stairs when Garry came down

" Good morning Daddy "

Oprah greeted hugging him

" Good morning darling, go to the car mom would join you soon"

Garry said while she ran outside

" Come back home immediately you drop Oprah off, I mean immediately!"

He said with authority while I walked away. I got to the goldsmith shop and had to wait for hours before he was done with both engagement and wedding ring, it was past five before I arrived at ira's house

" Aunty went to work"

Kate said while I sat to wait for her, I was happy at least she had new energy to go to work. I was already fast asleep before I felt a gentle touch on my shoulder

" Ira"

I called out as we went into her room, i brought out the rings giving them to her

" Thank you, how long have you been waiting?"

She asked sliding them into her finger

" Quite some while now, I'll get going goodnight"

I said rushing out of the house. The time hit 10 immediately I got home, I got into the room with the lights still on, Gary was on his laptop

" Where are you coming from? "

He asked standing up

" I just had thing to do with Irane "

I said as he picked up the belt on the bed, i turned to run out of the room as he chased after me. I ran hitting my leg and missing my step as I rolled down the stairs. I managed to struggle to stand up as Garry caught up to me

" You're cheating on me! "

He yelled giving me bunches from left and right,. After he was done bruising me , I realized David had pity on me. I never told Irane that Garry had started hitting me whenever he got angry or that he had already began sleeping with other women outside and even bringing them to the house. Whenever she would meet me crying I'll tell her something happened but never the truth because I knew she was carrying a burden on her own.
