Chapter 7 7

Alex glanced at him "Don't mind it, go to sleep. Tomorrow you have to go to school."

Irsya saw Alex sitting on a bench reading a book, he looked relaxed and with a very flat expression on his face made Irsya really want to disturb him.

"Alex, do you believe in angels?" asked Irsya

"Yes, all the books in the world also mention the existence of angels, albeit by different names."

"Do you think angels can come down to Earth and choose a woman to marry?" asked Irsya.

"I think you're very tired right now. Go to sleep before you start thinking about how to summon angels to come down to Earth," Alex replied.

Alex got up from his seat and covered Irsya with a blanket.

"Sleep, don't fantasize about impossible things, okay?"

"But how do you summon an angel to come down to Earth?" Irsya asked, looking puzzled.

"Which book are you reading right now that's giving you thoughts like that? Don't dwell on things that can't happen, go to sleep now."

Irsya fell silent and held her blanket tightly, then whispered again.

"Where did you learn all these ways to treat a woman so well, from books or from your experiences?"

Alex remained silent and didn't want to talk much. He sat back down on the bench and picked up the book he had been reading.

"All right, good night, Alex."

Just as she was about to go to sleep, Irsya woke up hearing the sound of glass breaking very close to her, causing her to startle.

"Alex!" Irsya exclaimed.

Irsya quickly got up from her bed and went to find where Alex was. She saw Alex in the living room, holding a bottle of pills and a glass on the table.

"Alex! What's happening to you?"

Alex tightly grasped Irsya's shoulder, wincing in pain, which made Irsya both panicked and confused.

"Alex, what's happening to you? Say something, Alex," Irsya said, very worried.

"Please, fetch me something from that drawer over there," Alex requested.

Irsya immediately ran and bumped into the table, bruising her leg. She was in a state of panic as she searched for something in the drawer.

"Is this it?" Irsya asked, showing a small clear bottle.

"Yes," Alex replied.

Irsya handed it to Alex, who immediately took it and calmed down. Meanwhile, Irsya endured the pain in her leg.

"How's your leg?" Alex asked.

"I should be asking how you're doing now. You scared me," Irsya said, worried.

"It's like there's a bomb going off inside my head. Your leg must be bruised."

"Let it be, right now, the most important thing is you. I was so scared you might die. Don't ever do that again. I really don't want to lose you, even though I don't like you," Irsya explained.

Irsya was surprised when Alex knelt in front of her, then he lifted her leg slightly and placed it on his thigh, examining the bruised leg.

"I thought so. Wait here, I'll get my first aid kit."

The way Irsya was being treated like a queen left her astonished. She, who everyone had considered worthless trash, was being treated so kindly.

"What does he want from me? Why is he being so kind?"

Alex returned with his first aid kit, knelt before Irsya again, and lifted her leg, which he had placed on his thigh.

"Will this hurt?" Irsya asked, with fear in her voice.

"No, just a little discomfort."

"That's the same thing!! I hate pain."

Alex placed Irsya's hand on his shoulder and looked into her eyes.

"Squeeze my shoulder when you feel the pain."

Irsya nodded, closed her eyes, and felt the gentleness of Alex's hands as he treated her leg. His touch was so soft that it masked the pain she should have felt.

"You can open your eyes now," Alex said.

Irsya opened her eyes and saw that Alex had finished treating her leg.

"Is it done?" she asked.

Alex carried Irsya's body and took her back to her room.

"What do you want to do to me?" Irsya asked, feeling very nervous.

Alex laid her down and covered her with a blanket.

"Sleep, it's very late."

"Where are you going?" Irsya asked.

Irsya turned to the side and saw Alex, who had also fallen asleep on the bench, with his eyes closed, which made her smile.

"Goodnight, Alex," Irsya said softly.

"Goodnight, don't keep staring at me. You need to sleep, tomorrow we'll have an exam."

Irsya nodded and smiled. "Okay. I'll go to sleep and stop looking at you," she said with a smile.

They both slept in the same room, and tonight, Irsya truly felt intoxicated by how well Alex treated her, like a queen.

The next morning, Irsya returned home. She saw her house was very quiet, with the lights turned off.

"Are they still at it? Is love that crazy?" Irsya asked, irritated.

Irsya opened her front door and saw her mother lying on the floor, with a very pale face and wearing very revealing lingerie.

"Mom!" Irsya shouted in shock.

Alex, who was preparing sandwiches, suddenly clutched his left chest, feeling an intense pain and an irregular heartbeat, making it hard to breathe.

"Irsya," Alex said, his eyes welling up with tears.

Alex held his temple, noticing tears welling up in his eyes even though he didn't show any expression.

"Alex, what's wrong?"

Alex placed the sandwich he had prepared in his lunchbox, then he saw his schoolmate who had come to pick him up from school.
