Chapter 3 3

The eighteen-year-old girl walked under the rain, her tears flowing with the raindrops falling to the ground. She found a shop to take shelter in and sleep.

"Maybe I can take shelter here," Irsya said, lying down in front of the shop, curled up due to the cold.

She cried uncontrollably, she didn't understand why her mother had completely changed towards her after her mother's affair behind her father's back.

"I have to endure tonight. I mustn't pass out," Irsya said through her sobs.

As she neared losing consciousness, Irsya felt warmth on her body. She tried to blink her eyes open and see who was giving her warmth.

"You'll catch a cold if you stay like this. Are you foolish?"

Irsya immediately moved away from him, he was a guy who had always been her rival. A guy Irsya deeply disliked and resented.

"Why are you here? Aren't your parents looking for you? Maybe you ran away from home and are staying at a friend's house!"

Irsya continued to accuse him emotionally, but the guy just remained silent and held Irsya's hand before pushing her away.

"Let go!! What do you want?"

Irsya furrowed her brow, refusing to let him touch her, which prompted the guy to invite her to go home with him.

"Come on, let's go home," he said.

"No, I refuse. I won't go home with you. I'll stay here, rather than with an expressionless guy like you!" Irsya said stubbornly.

"Stubbornness won't benefit you, it'll only harm you."

Irsya clicked her tongue in annoyance and turned her face away from the kind-hearted guy nearby.

"I don't want to listen to your advice. If you want, you can leave!"

The guy remained patient, he put a warm fur jacket on Irsya and then carried her on his back. She had a small body.

"What are you doing? I don't want to go to your house. Don't act like a pervert, I don't like you, Alex."

"Alex, okay, today you can call me Alex. Before that, I was Jony, and two days ago, I was Andri," he said with a laugh.

Irsya hugged herself, feeling the warmth that made her incredibly relaxed, slowly drifting off to sleep on Alex's back.

"She has a fever, I'll take care of her tonight."

A man named Alex took Irsya to his home, which was in a completely different complex from Irsya's, quite a distance away. Alex lived in an upscale complex that was in stark contrast to Irsya's neighborhood. Alex arrived at his mansion, opening the door to reveal his very quiet home, as his parents worked abroad, and he chose not to hire a maid because it was too much trouble. He placed Irsya on his bed, gently holding her forehead, which felt very hot.

"She has a fever, I'll get a compress from the kitchen."

Alex fetched a compress while Irsya was still unconscious. In her dream, she saw an angel holding her tightly and protecting her. This made Irsya's heart race, and she found herself falling for the angel. Suddenly, she felt something on her forehead, and she slowly opened her eyes to see Alex applying the compress.

"What are you doing?" Irsya asked in surprise.

"Me? I'm taking care of you," Alex replied.

"What's wrong with me?" Irsya asked again.

"Your body was shivering from the cold, and your body temperature is very high, you have a fever," Alex explained.

Irsya's stomach growled loudly, making her feel embarrassed. Alex had heard it too, but he didn't show any expression.

"Don't look so expressionless!! If you're bothered, you'd better tell me. If you're not happy, show it on your face, but don't look so expressionless!!" Irsya grumbled.

"I'm not bothered at all, and I don't mind the sound of your stomach either. Am I wrong?" Alex asked without expression.

"No, but it's embarrassing. The more you show that emotionless face, the more it feels like you're mocking me."

Alex nodded in understanding, realizing what Irsya meant. Then he went to the kitchen.

"Where are you going?" Irsya asked.

"You're hungry, so I want to make you some food," Alex said.

Irsya fell silent and let him prepare food for her.

"Alright, I'll wait. Make something delicious for me," Irsya said.

"I'll be right back, wait for me."

Unable to wait any longer, Irsya decided to follow him to the kitchen and watched Alex preparing food for her.

"When you carried me home to the mansion, I had a very beautiful dream," Irsya blurted out.

"A dream?"

"I had a dream, I was tightly embraced by an angel. It felt so warm and secure. I felt so much peace, and the angel protected me so well. Do you think that's normal?" Irsya asked.

Alex remained silent, which only irritated Irsya further.

"I know you won't answer because you don't know the answer. Whatever," Irsya said in frustration.

"There are parts of this world where someone finds a lover as if they found an angel," Alex explained.

"How is that possible?" Irsya asked.

"Not an actual angel, a messenger of God. But a lover who treats you very well and is full of love."

Irsya chuckled and mocked Alex again, "Forget it, I don't have a lover. I don't even know what that is," Irsya replied.

With a neutral expression, neither smiling nor angry, Alex placed a plate on the dining table and offered the food to Irsya.

"Please eat, I will prepare a guest room for you."

Irsya fell silent, she was actually afraid to sleep alone, especially in an unfamiliar place, where she might have trouble falling asleep.

"Can't I sleep in the living room?" Irsya asked.

"What's the matter?"

Irsya answered very nervously, she was embarrassed to admit that she was afraid to sleep alone.

"I don't like the dark."

"I'll turn on all the lights."
