Chapter 1 KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR.

CHAPTER 1: KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR.

The night was bustling as always in the city that never sleeps, New York, even though it wasn't a weekend yet. Most folks waited for the weekend to arrive before they sought to have a good time, but not Trevor Munroe.

The billionaire playboy was out with his buddies at an exclusive club which they had a membership, as it only catered to the elites who were after the best of the best. Sure enough, Trevor and his buddies had had a great time at the club.

"Hey uh, I'd better call it a night." Trevor declared, after he took a look at his Jacob & Co. Bugatti Chiron watch, which matched his Bugatti Chiron parked outside the club.

"Come on man. We're only getting started," Lincoln, one of his two friends with him at the club said, making a sad face.

"Yeah right!" Trevor snorted. "Unlike you, some of us have responsibilities, and I need to be up early." Trevor gulped down his bourbon as he stood up.

"Mmm. Good for you Trevor. I don't think am cut out for such responsibilities. That's why my dad worked his ass off, so that I don't have to move a muscle, but get to live the good life."

Trevor scoffed shaking his head in amazement at how immature his friend, Scott, sounded. "Whatever dude. Break no laws tonight," Trevor said as he walked out of the club, leaving his friends in the company of five girls, in their usual exclusive lounge at the club.

Outside the club, Trevor was handed the keys to Bugatti by the valet attendant. "Thanks Bobby." Trevor appreciated the valet attendant, also giving him a hundred dollar tip, like he always did.

"This is much appreciated sir. Thank you," Bobby said, expressing his gratitude, which was accompanied with a generous smile.

Trevor remotely opened his car and was about to go in, when someone bumped into him carelessly.

"What the hell! Watch where you're going," Trevor said a bit furious as he adjusted himself.

The impact was unexpected, so he staggered a bit but gained balance since he was fit. Taking a look at who it was, he saw that it was a lady, a blonde lady.

"I- I'm so sorry," The lady stuttered. Trevor noticed how jittery and hysterical she seemed. She turned around as though looking for someone.

"Please, you have to help me. Some men are chasing me. My life is in danger. Please, help me!" The strange lady grabbed a hold of Trevor's black leather jacket, pleading.

"If your life is in danger, then call the cops," Trevor said and he yanked off her hands from his jacket, irked that she may have stained his jacket with whatever filth she carried.

"Please, help me. They'll kill me!" The lady pleaded somewhat tearfully.

"Look lady, call the cops. I don't have time for whatever bull shit you're trying to reel me into." Trevor pushed her away as he got into his car, shutting the door at her.

Devastated at Trevor's refusal to help, the lady took to her heels. Trevor watched her as she left through his windshield. He knew better than to fall for things that had a scandalous tone underneath.

'Was she for real though? Is she in danger?' Trevor took a moment to reminisce on what just happened, as his heart troubled him.

After his last and only scandal seven years ago, Trevor was one to never give room for such a reoccurrence, especially when it came to dealing with strangers. But this time, it seemed different. He felt in his gut that the strange lady was sincere.

Trevor nodded in disagreement, shrugging off what he felt in his gut. He turned on his car and drove off. Four blocks away from the club, Trevor sighted the lady, along with something he didn't see initially, so he slowed down.

He saw two men walking fast in the direction of the lady. This pricked his attention. He parked his car and observed.

The lady took a turn to an alley. Trevor watched to see where the men would follow. Sure enough, the men followed the same path. Seeing this, Trevor was sure that she was actually in danger.

He quickly dialed 911 as he got out of his car. Before the respondent could begin talking, Trevor went ahead to speak. "I'd like to report a possible murder attempt at East 42nd Street Fifth Avenue, of a female with possibly two male assailants. Hurry up please!"

"Could you please say what you saying slower?" The respondent requested.

"There may be a murder at East 42nd street Fifth Avenue. Hurry!" Trevor said said, calmly, as though counting words, then hastily ended the call.

Trevor rushed to the alley but he didn't find anyone. He stood bewildered at how he couldn't find any trace of them. He noticed a dumpster near the far end of the alley, and approached it cautiously. Drawing close to the dumpster, he could hear muffled voices.

He knew for sure that they were hidden behind the dumpster, and the lady's mouth probably gagged. His heart raced as he made his approach, not knowing what may befall him.

One of the assailant rushed out with his gun pointing forward, but Trevor skillfully disarmed him. The other assailant was about taking a shot at Trevor when Trevor noticed it, and used his disarmed assailant as a human shield.

Trevor dragged the man forward advancing towards the other man, and pushed the body towards the other assailant.

Moving away from his partner's body, Trevor found the opportunity to grab his hand from underneath his armpit and flip him over, causing him to land on the cold hard floor.

Trevor successfully apprehended the assailant with his hands tied behind him. But the other who was shot, Trevor didn't mind securing him, as he was already in a critical condition.

Trevor disassembled the gun, throwing it meters away from the assailants on the floor.

Trevor turned to check on the scared lady. "Hey, are you alright?" he asked with such empathy. The lady simply fell in his arms as she sobbed profusely.

Trevor hugged her, and comforted her. "It's okay. You're safe now. No one's going to hurt you."
