Chapter 2 IMPRESSIONS.

CHAPTER 2: IMPRESSIONS.

The cops arrived the scene quickly with their sirens blaring. Along with the call that Trevor made, they had received reports of multiple gun fire. Hence, their speedy response.

As always, the press were there taking photos at the crime scene, especially that of Trevor. They knew this was a big scoop since it involved the billionaire playboy. They wondered what he had done this time.

As Trevor and the yet to be known lady recounted the night's event to the cops, giving them their statement, another vehicle pulled over at the scene. An individual way too familiar with Trevor stepped out of the car and walked over to where they stood. He was dressed in a navy blue suit.

"Why do I always find you wherever trouble is, Trevor Munroe?" the man asked, trying to establish his dominance as he adjusted his bulky physique in his suit.

"I highly doubt they pay you enough to keep following me around detective Gordon. Or do they?" Trevor replied back, not intimidated by the bulky man. Detective Gordon chuckled, concealing his vexation at Trevor's statement. But Trevor could see it in his eyes.

"So what happened here?" detective Gordon asked Trevor.

"You can read, can't you? Why don't you read the statement?" Trevor said impolitely, as he walked away with the lady whom he rescued to his Bugatti.

Detective Gordon watched them walk away, really pissed at Trevor. "Urgh! Sometimes I wish I could just punch him in that pretty face of his," detective Gordon said with gritted teeth, clenching his fists.

He went ahead to get the statement from the officer and went through it. "Get me a copy of this when we get to the station." Detective Gordon instructed the officer as he went on to take a look around the crime scene, which had been sealed off with the usual yellow tape.

Trevor drove off with the lady he rescued. She was calm as he drove, and not as jittery as she was earlier. Trevor reasoned within him what he'd have to do with her. He sure wasn't willing to harbor a total stranger in his penthouse.

"So uh, do you have any relatives or family you can call?" Trevor asked. The lady shook her head left to right, indicating she had no one.

"Okay. How about friends? Am sure you have friends that you could call, right?" She gave the same response.

"You mean you have no one at all that you can call?" Trevor questioned with a perplexed look in his face, briefly looking at her, and keeping his eyes on the road. As before, she gave the same response.

Trevor scoffed exasperatedly, chuckling. "I didn't sign up to babysit a grown ass girl this night." Trevor didn't know when he muttered his frustration to her hearing. He quickly realized she heard him, as she had turned to look at him. But he didn't apologize.

"Just drop me off anywhere you want. I can take care of myself." The lady said coldly.

"With pleasure." Trevor agreed, infuriated at how ungrateful she had turned all of a sudden, after the risk he had taken to save her life.

"By the way, why were those men chasing after you? What did they want with you?" Trevor asked, but she kept mute. Trevor nodded, "Alright then," pursing his lips. He was fed up and wasn't going to take any more disregard from her.

Looking out his window, he found the closest place for him to park his car. He parked and the lady stepped out without saying a word to Trevor. Not even a "Thank you".

Trevor sat in his car, leaning his head on the head rest of his seat in, awestruck. He shrugged off the matter and drove off, turning on a hip hop song to preoccupy his mind.

Trevor drove five minutes away from whence the lady he saved got off. Unlike Trevor, his heart smote him for leaving the lady behind, helpless as it seemed.

"God damnit!" Trevor turned his car around to go find her. Sure enough, he found her at the same spot he left her, standing. 'Did she really not have where to go?' Trevor soliloquized.

He parked his car and got out to meet her. "Look, was I pissed at how ungrateful you were? Hell yeah. I mean, I risked my life to save you and I didn't even get a 'Thank you'." The lady glared wickedly at Trevor, as he tried to justify his action.

"Look, the point is, if you have nowhere to go, you can stay at my place, and we'll figure out what to do." Trevor offered. The lady remained mute for some seconds, then walked casually to Trevor's car and got in.

Trevor chuckled in disbelief, not just at the lady, but at himself. "How do I still feel obligated to this person?" he muttered inaudibly, looking away from the lady. He got into his car and drove to his penthouse.

Arriving the high rise apartment building, Trevor was greeted by the security personnel at the entrance of the complex. Trevor politely responded.

The security was used to seeing Trevor with different girls, sophisticated looking girls from time to time, but not the kind he saw Trevor with this night. All he could do was wonder, minding his business.

Trevor and the lady took the elevator to his floor, and they got to his penthouse. There were only two penthouses on that building and he owned one. The other was owned by some movie producer he hardly interacted with.

Using his finger print, he unlocked the door to the penthouse. "Welcome to my humble abode." Trevor ushered in his new guest. The lights in the penthouse turned on automatically, noticing his presence. The penthouse was a fully equipped smart home.

Trevor's guest was totally amazed at the house as she looked round, observing every single detail of the penthouse. She did her best to look unimpressed, but Trevor knew better.

"Let me show you to your room," Trevor said leading her upstairs to a room he had never used.

"You'll find everything you need. Help yourself to a warm shower, and I'll order something for you to eat while you shower." Trevor turned to leave.

"I'm Lilly." The lady spoke out, causing Trevor to halt.

"I beg your pardon?" Trevor turned around, raising his right eyebrow.

"I'm Lilly. Am sorry for being the way I was earlier." That was all she said.

Trevor cracked up a smile and replied, "I'm Trevor," walking out.

"I guess we're off to a good start." Trevor shrugged and walked to his room. His phone began ringing.

"Oh great!" Trevor sighed. It was his father calling.
