Chapter 4 THE ULTIMATUM.

CHAPTER 4: THE ULTIMATUM.

"I said, who the hell are you, and what are you doing here?" The lady asked again.

Lilly found herself in an awkward situation not knowing what to do exactly. The lady obviously looked pissed and jealous at the sight of Lilly, from all indications.

"Looks like you're dumb. Get out of my way!" The lady tried shoving Lilly aside to enter the penthouse, but Lilly held on to the door firmly, not moving an inch.

"Get out of my way, you filthy piss of shit!" The lady tried pushing her way through but Lilly withstood her, sulking within.

"Look, I don't know who you are, but you're not getting into this apartment. Not until the owner tells me otherwise, of which he hasn't. So, I suggest you leave!" Lilly said sternly, looking right into the eyes of the lady.

The lady laughed out mockingly, pursing her lips. "You obviously don't know who I am, do you?" the lady asked. "Um, sorry, but should I?" Lilly asked derogatorily.

"I am Sabrina Banks. The Banks, not any low life bearing a similar name. And am also the girlfriend of the owner this penthouse." The lady introduced herself pompously, as she flicked her hair backwards.

"Well, nice to meet you, Sabrina Banks. I'm sor-"

"Get outta my way. I need to see him. I know he's back from work." Sabrina made another attempt to go in. And once again, she was withstood by Lilly.

"Look, princess fancy dress. Trevor isn't home, so I can't let you in. When he does return, I'll let him know you dropped by." Lilly said, shutting the door in front of Sabrina.

"Hah! Unbelievable! Did she just shut the door at me? How dare she?" Sabrina scoffed, infuriated. She got out her phone to dial Trevor's number, but stopped, clenching her fists.

"This isn't over bitch! You hear me? This isn't over!" Sabrina yelled hysterically, huffing and puffing as she walked to the elevator, going to the ground floor. Lilly watched her hysterical from the little screen of the control panel of the door.

"Tsk tsk tsk. If she really is Trevor's girlfriend, RIP to him." Lilly snorted as she sat on the three seater couch in the living room. "I wonder how he hasn't had a heart attack yet." Lilly muttered.

She looked at the envelope that Trevor had left her, wondering if she should wait, or just leave as he was expecting. She sat pondering what to do.

"Don't try to evade the question son. when are you getting married?" Trevor chuckled softly. "Seriously dad? Is this what you made me drive all the way here for just to be asked when I'll be getting married?" Trevor shook his head in disbelief.

"Sure. It seems unimportant to you, don't it?" Lazlo smirked.

"Dad, I don't know when. Okay?" Trevor said frustratedly.

"Well, I expect to see you getting married soon. You and Sabrina to be precise." Lazlo said looking away as he sipped his glass of wine.

"Sabrina? Hell no! Not happening." Trevor opposed.

"What's wrong? You two have been friends since forever, and even dated on and off. Besides, what better face and name than her's as the wife of the future president of the Roe's Conglomerate?" Lazlo pitched.

"Dad, I will not marry Sabrina. You don't know her. That'll be sentencing myself to a lifetime of misery. Nah! that won't be me." Trevor refused.

"So is there someone else?" Melissa, Trevor's mom asked lovingly.

In split seconds, Trevor reasoned within him, trying to figure out the right thing to say that'll help him out of the situation that he found himself in. "Maybe. But I don't know. We can't be too hasty about this mom."

"Who is she? Who's her father? What family is she from?" Lazlo was already infuriated at the possibility of someone else in the picture.

"She's uh, she's-"

"Never mind. It doesn't matter who she is. Sabrina is and has always been our choice for you. So sort out whatever differences you two may have, because you're getting married to her." Lazlo said assertively.

"Dad, I don't even love her." Trevor protested.

"Either find a way to love her and you both get married in the next three months, or you lose your place as the CEO of Roe Industries, and my inheritance." Lazlo threatened.

"What? You gotta be kidding me dad," Trevor said looking at his father's face. He saw that he wasn't joking.

"Are you being serious right now dad?" Trevor couldn't believe that his dad was that serious.

"It's your choice son. Get married to Sabrina in the next three months, or forfeit your position as the CEO of Roe Industries, along with the privileges that comes with being my son." Lazlo gave his son an ultimatum.

Trevor scoffed, shaking his head in utter disbelief. "That was never you giving me a choice in the first place." Trevor stood up and walked away, not saying goodbye.

Melissa sat quietly, but obviously unhappy at what transpired, not opposing her husband in front of their son.

"You have five days to make up your mind and get back to me." Lazlo added, causing Trevor to halt as he was about to open the front door. He chuckled softly and walked out the house.

"Honey, that wasn't right of you. You know that right?" Melissa said to her husband, facing him.

"Maybe." Lazlo shrugged, and added, "But it was necessary."

"What if there's someone else that he's with? He clearly doesn't want to be with Sabrina." Melissa asked.

"There can't be anyone else! Sabrina is the perfect fit for the image of our family. He has no choice but to marry her. They'll get along eventually." Lazlo said selfishly.

Melissa was displeased at how her husband handled the situation.

Trevor drove home, fuming all through the drive, ranting to himself like a mad man as he drove. He racked his brain trying to figure out a way out of this mess. His father had him pinned to the wall, and he needed a way out.
