Chapter 4 mystical eyes

Selena dropped to the floor as her trembling legs couldn't hold her weight anymore. She slowly reached out and held her father's hand, gripping it firm but not rough. Holding onto his hand as a form of comfort. How long has it been now. Its more than a decade now, her father has been on this bed. She's thankful that her dad worked in a formidable place as an important figure, so all his medical bills are always covered. With her head lowered, still crouched, the dam finally broke; She's been strong for so long. She has been strong for so long; she can't take it anymore.

Raising her head she cleaned her tear-stricked face with her hands and said, "father I'm here again......" she sniffed "hasn't it been so long" after a long pause " don't you miss me dad" she broke into tears again. her voice muddled and unclear as she spoke, desperation coating her voice "please dad I need you" selena pulled a strained smile " see dad, I'm all grown up. Don't you wanna see how I looked..maybe I.." A light pained chuckle escaped her lips "....maybe I look like mum". "Tell me dad, tell me what I need to do to make it better. To make everything better" she bust into tears once more, lowering her head in between her arms her muffled voice rang again; more pained "Someone please tell me". Her head was still lowered whilst her shoulders shook, when a gust of wind blew softly, lightly fluttering the curtain as it passed. As it blew past Selena, her hair fluttered softly and settled and suddenly, her head shot up .She looked ahead as if dazed and she suddenly whispered; more like to herself than anyone. "I know...." Her voice turned barely a whisper."I know what to do now". She turned to gaze once more at her dad and suddenly bolted out of the room; leaving the flowers she brought for her dad, beside him on the bed. Her breath in her ears, her legs moving past her will, eating up space. She ran down the corridor like a woman on a mission. ••• The howling of the wind from her high altitude caressed her ears. Her clothes and hair lightly fluttered around her. The soft whispers carried by the breeze sang in her ears. She was staring ahead dazed, sure she didn't know what she was doing, but something told her she had to, it moved her to. She knew what she was doing, the voice sounding like her chanted in her head as she reached the edge of the roof. She climbed the last barrier blocking anyone from an easy fall. Looking down she realized she was really high up. But she couldn't back out now. She turned around. Its better she doesn't look down. She thought to herself all will be well. Her dad will be taken care of, the little friends she has will get over it soon enough. Besides she didn't feel like she made an impact on anyone's life. W-was this her thoughts, was this what she truly wanted. Then why? Why couldn't she move her body. Couldn't feel it. Suddenly, something snapped inside her-Wait what was she doing?!! how sure.... What was the reason for this. No! Surely this can't be what she wants, its too much. She made an attempt to move and to her silent horror, she felt the ground left her feet; She was falling..... Selena couldn't scream, couldn't bring herself to. She just watched everything happened so fast but yet it felt like time slowed down, with the only exception of not having control over anything; couldn't do anything. Her vision started to blur and suddenly it went dark. Was this it, she couldn't-couldn't even find the cause of her friends death. Just left in the dark. How cruel the world is. There was a tranquil silence before a burst of sudden sounds of giggling and happy laughter of a child. she opened her eyes she found herself in the body of a little girl; like an audience in the child body. The little girl was running across a beautiful field. "You can't catch me". The sweet melodious joyful voice of the child rang through the air before Selena slipped back into the darkness. What just happened?! Who was that child? But she found herself back, falling. Sigh...so this is it. Tears gathered at the rim of her eyes, a lone tear slip out of an eye, it flew upward and glistened like a diamond against the setting sunlight. Selena didn't know how, or what made her do it, but she felt it, at the edge of her mind, at the tip of her tongue, it's felt like her last beckon of hope; was her last hope. And as she closed her eyes in peace and parted her lips; a sole word that changed her life forever flowed out, so bitter sweet.... . . . . . Everything felt still, silent, too silent.... Is this- is this what death feels like, she didn't feel the pain or any impact. Her eyelids fluttered open, awaiting to see what would now lay ahead for her, her new life- or death. Selena heart skipped a beat. Before her sight was a dark-hodded figure. The hair peeking out from under the hood, silky black, dark as raven feathers. Her breath was caught in her throat as her slowly trailed down- her whole world came to a halt. She found herself staring at the most beautiful mystical eyes she had ever seen. Its irises looked like melted silver, It was absolutely ethereal and she was for a moment pulled into a whole new world. Those deep endless abyss-like eyes, she felt she would keep falling, to no end. With how focused she was, she didn't notice a warm sensation on her neck region. And a particular subtle change. Suddenly as she was still staring into the pair of captivating eyes, she felt something cold touched the tip of her nose. She looked away from the eyes to find snow falling; Like white dots they fell so slowly. She turned back to the eyes and it stole her breath again, those silver orbs were still gazing at her, but with the scenery of the falling snow in the back ground, it was one of the most breathtaking thing she has ever seen. Selena looked down to see the mysterious hooded figure face, but she couldn't see anything apart from his eyes it was like their was a shadow blocking his lower face. From a third point of view they looked majestic; mystifying with the two figure together, both wearing dark clothes against the beautiful snow background. It was a picture artists would die to capture. Was it possible to feel spellbound by someone you saw for the first time. It was too surreal, but it felt right, it..Hold up! Hold up. What the... Were they air borne. What the hell?!! Her thought were cut off when she suddenly felt dizzy and the next thing she knew she found herself on the roof top again, but this time with the cloaked figure. Did they just... TELEPORT?!! She couldn't wrap her head around this. Something's wrong here. The dark cloaked figure placed her back gently on the floor. Shocked, Selena stood still spellbound by hooded figure before her. His exquisite mystifying presence like none she has felt before. What was this feeling. The cloaked figure before Selena silently stared at her. His eyes bore into her soul. Seeing the dazed blank look on her face a glint flashed across it eyes and was gone as if it never happened. Selena couldn't even catch the emotion in his eyes on time. But as he turned around to leave, that was enough for Selena to snap out of her daze. Not knowing where she got the courage from she called... "WAIT!!". Halting the hodded figure about to take a step forward. She ran to stand in front of him. It seems she has been courageous lately- taking a lot of risk recently. She looked up and smiled and its blood ran cold, she shouldn't be able to see him again. There was something dangerous about this cloaked figure, she should feel scared and probably run, but she couldn't. She felt a feeling of safety with him. That felt crazy as she doesn't know him from anywhere. Hell, she couldn't even see his face. But that didn't stop her, as she found herself reaching her hand to the hooded figure face to touch him. Her beautiful black eyes full of curiosity gazing at his pair of sparkling silver eyes. Her petal like lips parted slightly and she whispered "Who are you?". She gaze in awe and confusion. The hooded figure eyes flashed a glint and before her eyes he disappeared-Leaving only a faint trace of dark mist and it was like, he was never there. Selena snapped out of her daze and stared at her hands that reached for him. She didn't even get to touch his face. One of the reason she could guess it was a man was because when he held her, she felt the hard, firm chest against her. He was fit she could tell and she found herself drooling at the thought of him being shirtless. 'Are you mad'. She chastised herself. She didn't even know this mysterious being that saved her life. And she was fantasising about seeing her saviour shirtless. She really needed to check her brain. She must be going crazy. A determined look graced her features as she decided, she was going to chase after that mysterious figure. It felt like a stupid dream, but it was a dream none-the-less. The grief from earlier have reduced, and it seems she just found her light, her dark world just had it star. Well it was official- she was crazy. She looked up at the sky realizing it's turning dark. And seemly by the time she walked out of the care center, it was fully dark. A dark humor suddenly filled her. It was good they didn't find a dead body in front of their building. She couldn't help but chuckle at that fact. She wondered how shocked the smiling receptionist would look then, will the smile finally fall off her face. Selena thought as she walked down the side walk of the busy street. ============= A/N: Hello, lovely readers, we have finally gotten to the intended place. Isn't our fl a little wacky haha!
