Chapter 3 Gray world

••• "Hello? I'm looking for detective Lynn" that was the first thing she said after entering her late friend house. Only she knew how many emotions she had to fight while standing in front of the house, before taking up the courage to go in. From what she has seen, it seems like there was still some investigation going on in the house, as she still found some people checking the place, looking for more clues or sign of whatever case they were leading on. Selena was lead to where detective Lynn was going through a room and the electronic devices, with the assistance from other investigators.

As detective Lynn heard the approaching foot steps, she lifted her head from the computer screen and saw Selena walking towards her. They greeted theirselves and the detective, started to fill Selena in on their finding's, as they go along. She showed selena a couple of pictures, mainly the injury pictures. "We are not too sure of what to call it. No traces of struggle was found for it to be murder and we have no information after accessing her messages, chat and calls, she had undergo, before her death". She stated " The evidence points to suicide, because of the stab; from which we found a knife, but the hole seems more wide and deeper than what a normal knife could do. We also found no traces of poison but found her hand prints on the knife. According to more investigation, it was seen she has no drug abuse records or even any empty medicine containers at home. Also from the report, there was no sign of Avery taking a pill before then. "We wanted to do deeper tests..." The detective said as she drop the pics on a table near by as Selena has seen enough. She folded her arms across her chest as she faced Selena " ...but her parents didn't want their daughter to go through it, and they now have collected the body for the burial". She then paused and said " I assume you don't know this, as it was recently the body was out of our hands". The woman then pat Selena on the shoulder and sighed " I know it must be hard on you, but I would like to ask a few questions?" Selena nodded as a go ahead. "Did you notice any form of depression.... or any matter concerning her spilling about anything having to do with suicide". "No, she was okay a few days ago when we met. She was even happy as we were expecting a contract" she added " we talked a little to catch up and said a few things about future update plans on the story, I'm working on. As I know, you would know by now. "But apart from that everything was fine". Selena was hoping this could help. She couldn't see why her friend would, commit suicide. As a matter of fact she didn't believe that. But she decided not to probe. She was snapped out of her thoughts, when she heard the detective said " if that's the case. I would like if you give a written statement about what you said, and that would be all. We would keep you updated, if there's anything " and that marked the end of their conversation as Selena left the house. She stopped by the station on her way home, for her statement. She went back home, feeling dead and lifeless and flopped on her bed as she bid this unfair world good night. . . . . . . [THE NEXT DAY]. Selena still felt as terrible as before. Her close friends funeral will be at noon. Earlier when she woke up, she was painfully reminded of the time, when her friend gave her an early morning lecture, she now compared it with the irony of how that felt now. She was sure avery would be happy to see her wake up early. She laughed bitterly which was quickly converted to a sob. Oh she wished she could hear her nag one more time. After mopping around feeling broken, she got ready when it was almost noon. She didn't have an update plan, but decided to update according to her mood about the female less and male lead fainting. She thought about making them suddenly die as they fainted. But she knew her readers will be confused and probably hate her for it, because she was still at an early stage of the story. So it would make no sense. And would be unprofessional. She laughed at that. It was a hallow lifeless laugh, void of happiness. ••• Selena stayed through to the part where they dropped the flowers at her friend's grave. She saw the way her friend's mom cried a lot through out the ceremony. Herself did cry a lot, but it was a silent one. She wore a veiled covered hat, hoping not to be seen, while her tears ran down her face. When it was her turn to drop her flower. She walked up to her friend grave. She communicated with her through her mind, even if she knew her friend can't hear her. She would not be able to speak to her again like before. After placing the flower she kissed on her coffin, she walked back to where she stood and watched as they lowered the casket. now away from her sight, never to see her friend again. But to keep the memories together, forever in her heart. Losing someone has never been easy. How the world lost it glow and colour in front of one eyes. How a hallow deep hole, dull, aching painfully imprinted on ones heart. And how much you want to crawl out of that desperation. Maybe convincing yourself, it was all just a dream. But it felt more like a night mare. When you want to cry so hard, you can't feel air in your lungs, and its so painful to breath. But deep down you know, no matter where or who you look out to, and how hard you pray. You won't wake up, because it was never a dream. But a living......NIGHTMARE. So to escape that pain, you have to find the light once again. To bring colour to your life, and you have to keep moving on, because they aren't coming back. ••• Selena silently stood in front of a tall building, the blaring of horns and hustle bustle of the street behind her. It has been a while since she came here-she thought as she passed through the revolving glass door.Selena was Still dressed in her black plain dress, but she ditched the hat. At least the weather did them mercy today. She wonders why the weather was unpredictable this period. But she put that aside as the receptionist asked her a question. "Good day ma'am, how may I help you?" the woman behind the desk said with their usual polite formal smile. " Yes, um... I would like the access to room 504". selena had on a strained smile. The receptionist still pulling her formal smile requested, "Give me a minute" . she said opening their patient visitor list. "Name please?" she asked looking through the register. "Selena Morris" she answered already familiar with the process. Soon she was confirmed and given an access card. She took the elevator to one of the highest units. Weaving through the hallways and corridors, until she stood in front of a room, with the plate number at the door labelled 504. Bracing herself, she opened the door and stepped inside. she heaved a sigh as the door clicked shit behind her. Finally , she's back here again. From where she stood at the door, she could see the hospital bed across from her by the window side, letting the light illuminate the person on it. This building was a care center partnership with a formidable hospital in city Z. She took slow steps towards the bed across her. Standing by the bed side she heard the steady beeping of the machine besides the bed, and the tubes connected to the IV bag also. Her sight followed it up to the hand it was inserted him. Slowly she trailed her gaze upwards, to the steady rise and fall of the chest, her gazed paused on the oxygen mask on the patients lower face. Selena trailed her gaze till she reached eyes of the patients, which was closed. She took an unsteady step closer and her lips slowly parted, barely above a whisper, a tear drop slipped from her eye, "Father".
