Chapter 4

"Take her with you." the gang leader ordered, and one of the men separated the sisters, pulling Elsa by her arm outside the house to their van parked by the side.

Before reaching the van, he found a group of men surrounding their van, it was utterly strange. Nevan was squatted beside the tire of the car while the man watched his action silently without making a move. He lifted his last finger to meet his face, staring at the length of the nails before digging it into the tire, and it flattened.

Seeing the man holding Elsa's arm as if she was going escape the moment he let go, he moved from his position, coming to stand in front of them.

There was a big difference in height between all three of them, and the thug was no match for Nevan. "What do we have here...?" he asked.

Persia was beside him, warming up for a fight, these men wouldn't leave the girl so quickly, they would have to force her away from them.

"Who are you?!" the man yelled, spraying saliva all over. His hand was already reaching for his dagger and he found the case was empty! his dagger went missing? Where the fu*k did it go! he groaned in his thought.

"This?" Nevan said he tossed the silver dagger so the man could see it. How did he get a hold of it??? the man gulped down, he was carelessly holding the dagger and he could stab him unintentionally.

"Free the girl," Nevan ordered. His eyes looked lazily into Elsa's, it read 'Seriously?' if she wanted to be bought like a good, he would have given her the money earlier on than wasting time trying to convince her by legal means.

She felt embarrassed to look at him and tore her gaze from him, a total stranger had to see her in a shameful situation all because of their father.

"Who do you think you are?!" the man roared. Nevan dipped his pistol in the man's mouth, "Splutter one more nonsense, and your head will be off." He threatened.

"Hmm... hmmm..." the man hummed, he lifted both hands in the air to show that he surrendered, letting the girl go.

"Such a jerk." Nevan scoffed. he did not have to threaten the man so much.

"You will let her go or do you have a death wish?" he asked, and the man nodded and shook his head at the same time due to confusion. Bead-like sweat had come to form on his forehead. He did not expect to be ambushed, this bitch called someone on them. He released Elsa's hand and Nevan pulled her behind him.

Nevan waited for the man's next move, he expected him to run back to the others and he did just that, running as fast as he could and raising alarms, Nevan shot him down on his two feet before he was able to go in.

It called the attention of the rest, hearing gunshots coming from outside while they were almost done negotiating with Edwin, they knew something was off. They all gathered and came out of the house and found a bunch of men who looked like they wanted war in front of Edwin's house.

One question played in all their minds, 'What the hell was going on???!!!!'

Seeing one of their members on the floor crippled, they were ready to charge on Nevan and his people but the boss of the crew stopped them. Even though he couldn't voice it out, his heart skipped a beat the moment he found these men outside, inwardly, he had an ounce of fear, he wanted to listen to them first before taking action. the cripple on the floor wasn't worth risking his gang for. He couldn't afford to lose his boys, who would help him threaten and bully people?

"Who are you people?" The man asked. Nevan grinned widely, taking steps forward, "You are trying to take what belongs to me, I hold grudges."

"What is that?"

"The girl. Sounds like your boy does not listen to orders so I had to make him understand. Poor thing." he tsked, his eyes moving to the man who held his legs in pain and back to the one in front of him.

"And it seems like the rest of you are going to face the same fate."

"Hey!" the man yelled. He quickly drew out his gun from his hip, facing it on Nevan's forehead.

"It's the audacity for me..." Nevan muttered with a chuckle, he seized the man's fingers, forcing the gun out of his hand which caused an uproar among the others and it lead to a fight as the other gang members were going to hurt Nevan for disrespecting their boss.

Persia caught hold of one man, he was huge trying to match up to Persia's slender figure, you would think he had so much strength but he was a mere human and Persia was a werewolf. He pushed the man's hand behind his back, twisting and twirling and it made the man scream aloud in terror

"I will tear out those sinful fingers which you used in holding a gun to me," said Nevan. He twisted the gang's boss' fingers, pulling and dragging them, and almost popping his arm from his body while the man continued to scream.

"Nego-Negotia...SHIT!" the man managed to utter amid his terror.

"I do not negotiate on things which belong to me with oafs. You will leave here and never come back... I am not giving an empty threat, I will kill you for real the next time I find you close to something which belongs to me" he quickly clicked his gun and shot the man's arm without any remorse. "Hope that serves as a reminder."

His men already had the rest of the thugs down, some had been brutalized and the others only had sprains and discoloration on their faces and skin.

They let them run off with their injuries while Nevan pulled Elsa with him to his car, Persia was allowed to enter the jet-black limo with him as he had all the details of the contract they would be signing.

He sat beside Nevan, while Elsa took a seat close to the door.

She watch him light a brown cigar, holding the stick between his lips and leaving the fire on it till it sparked off. He took a quick draw and then changed the air with the smell of burnt cigar. He pushed himself back to relax while he enjoyed the warmth of the cigar, it had been quite a while since he got into anything related to violence,

"Persia, show it to her," he ordered.

His hazel eyes peered into hers from those round spectacles, taking in details about her.

Persia opened the papers to the most important clause of the documents, dropping it for her to read.

"Read carefully, it's a simple task for the money I will give. Do you still remember what the deal was? I do not like to repeat myself."

Her eyes quickly ran through the papers. It was the first time she was dealing with legal documents. She did not understand some of the complex words and sentences on the paper, but she tried her best to read them, forcing herself to understand them

"Do you accept the deal now? I can assure you your sister's safety, you were going to sell yourself for her safety right?" he asked sarcastically. Her head was messed up at the moment, and she had no strength to talk back or argue with him.

"You are allowed to negotiate your prize with us. How much do you want?"

"I need enough money to be able to take care of myself and my sister's needs. I want to send her to a hostel by the time I leave home and pay all the money for her education till college."

"Five million, I will give you five million," he offered.

"It's not enough. I want at least eight million." she spelled out.

"I need all my ininsurancencluded in the contract. I am renting myself to you to carry a child and by the looks of it, you're more desperate for a child, it's not too much to ask, is it?"

For once she felt like her father, thinking and acting all greedy, but she was doing this to secure a future for herself and her younger sister.

He thought of her as a greedy bitch, Nevan guessed his first impression of her was right... Even after offering an amount she would never dream of, she wanted more.

"Who would give you such an amount, me? You're so dumb."

"Then I will leave. My father's debt will cover almost all of the amount."

"What the hell did your father do to accumulate such an amount of debt?" She looked away, fiddling with her dress before speaking, "It's not entirely his fault, those people like to increase the interest rate to frustrate their debtors."

He looked at his beta and he gave a simple nod, they needed her service more than she can ever believe. "Eight minutes it is."

"Now about moving in... you will-"

"I need one week to settle my family before moving in with you." she cuts in.

"Seriously?" he tsked. this girl was seriously making orders. "It was rude to interrupt me, and also, You're moving in today, you'll leave with us. Once you get out of this car, you're going in there to pack your things. My men will assist you with whatever you need."

"But I-"

"No buts. I don't have much time to wait till you settle your family. Half the amount will be transferred to you once you move in, and then, the rest of it will be after you give my child to me. Read the contract carefully, every single thing you need to know is in there. You are also not allowed to terminate the contract or breach for any reason." said Nevan.

This was because he couldn't take any risks. what if she wanted to leave in the middle? He'd rather pile up her body amongst the people he planned to take with him to the land of the dead than let her leave.

"If you decide to leave, I will do something worse than those loan shark people. I am more powerful than they will ever be. Your weakness is your family, so I will make them pay for your crimes."

He was saying hurtful words about her family, he was using the things he already knew about them to taunt her.

She squeezed the pen in her hand, boiling in anger for a moment. She didn't want to do this but she needed the money, more than anything.

"You may leave." the driver opened the door for her from the outside and then two people along with Persia escorted her back home to pick up her things and then Nevan's car drove away, leaving the others to make sure she is delivered to the mansion safely.
