Chapter 5 Mate Laughable.

I thank Em and Stephen for the amazing support they have given me as a writer and everything else in my life. I also thank Josh for giving me the drive I thought I had lost. Please enjoy the chapter and please give me honest feedback.

I was frozen when I saw who stood on the other side of the door. I wanted to scream, beat him, murder him but I was frozen. I just stared at him, ready for if he made a move, I would run to my gun and shoot him with every clip I owned. I probably wouldn't make it because he is a werewolf but I would die trying. " I came by to check on you and say I am sorry, for everything. " I scoffed. He came here to what? He's such a dick, I would not accept his apology and act like everything was fine. " You gonna say anything? " I shut the door in his face and locked it. " Hey! Rosa! I came here for a truce. We could get back to how we were. I don't know what happened to me and you but you are my mate! " I froze at the stairs and shuddered all over. He will not use the mate bond as something to make me be with him again. For one, I would never, after everything and I can't feel the mate bond like them because I am human. When I heard him pound on the door, I ran and took off for my room closing and locking the door. I grabbed my gun and then my phone in the left hand. I didn't know who to call, everyone was out enjoying their night and this would ruin it. The guys deserved to not deal with my drama for at least one night. I walked to my window and then opened it slowly. I tried to be so quiet but it seemed like I was being ridiculously loud so I shook my head and then stepped out and onto the roof of the patio. I walked to the back that followed the corner of the house, crouched in the farthest corner, and tried to not even breathe. I was thrown back into I think a flashback to when I met Reggie at a park by the canals. I was running like I usually did and he bumped into me so we ran the rest together and then he just started running with me whenever I showed up. We were talking and I didn't know he was a werewolf but now all the signs were there. Even as a human, I would have felt sparks but at first, I didn't and that's what kept me from him. One day at the mall I ran into him and we hung out when we were departing separate ways he kissed my forehead and hugged me. I was never giddy or girly but when that happened I couldn't even breathe as I stared at him, when his brown eyes flickered to a bold, sunny, yellow not quite gold he stiffened as he growled out mate. I looked shocked because I didn't know that he was a werewolf and then he backed away from me scared. I chuckled then took his hand to walk to my bike. I lowered my voice. " I know about wolves, my best friends come from different packs. " He nodded. " Oh, so you know about the mate bond? " I blushed and nodded. " You are my mate? I am human though. " He looked down and when he looked up he cupped my cheek. " I don't mind. I have had this pull to you and I am glad to know that you are my other half. " I blushed and then we said goodbye but traded contact info before separating. Once I finish the flashback, I can hear Reggie in my room I think. I hear stuff being moved and thrown as I cling to myself tightly trying to block out everything.

I don't know how long I tried to hold my breath and be as small as possible in the corner on the roof. Luckily, we are in Arizona so it isn't cold out here. I start to relax and lean against the wall putting my hands in my tie-dye sweatpants. I just looked down at the roof with a lot of my mind when I felt someone grab my arm and pull me to the window. Once they pulled me through the window their lips were on mine before I could say anything or fight. My body stiffened because of what he did I don't like people touching me. The next thing I knew I felt a pang on my cheek and blood in my mouth. He had slapped me but why? I wasn't even fighting him I just stood there and when I looked at him, his eyes narrowed. " You won't kiss me back, Mate. " I felt a shiver go down my spine and knew what to expect. " You wanna stay silent? We will see how long before you scream! " As he roared at me he landed a punch right in the middle of my stomach and I doubled over. The only reason I escaped last time was because he was distracted fucking the girl he made me watch while I was in so much pain from the mate bond due to the betrayal. I smiled and then stood up looking straight into his eyes. " You think you are better than me? That you matter to anyone? " He backhanded me and I knew my lip was busted and there was gonna be a bruise. He then grabbed me by my hair and started punching me in the stomach and ribs. I would have collapsed if he wasn't holding me up by my hair and a tear escaped my eyes. He smirked and as he released his hold of my hair, he then punched me right in the face. I fell to the ground and curled up into a ball trying to be as small as possible. He grabbed me by my ankles and dragged me to the stairs. He lifted me up and smiled then threw me down the stairs and I was so thankful that we didn't have many stairs. He walked up to me and kneeled down in front of my face. " I will do more next time, Mate. " I held a blank face so I wouldn't encourage him to do worse as my whole body ached. I slumped down and allowed myself to just lay there, surprisingly I felt relaxed when I saw him leave and the slam of the front door. I couldn't get up not because of the abuse but because I just didn't have the will to move. I must have passed out when I heard the door open and a couple of growls with gasps as some people entered the house. I just want to sleep can't they leave me alone? " I just wanna sleep, Andi and Jakey. Please, five more minutes. " I said almost whispering to no one in particular. " Are you shitting me?! Who the fuck did this?! " I heard Ricky and Zero yell in unison. I felt someone pick me up and they were being so careful. " Oni... Let me take you to your room I will call Matty to help you. " I just whimpered because as careful as he was it hurt so much. I was set on a bed carefully and then I opened my eyes to see a raging Ricky and Zero. Next to them was a depressed-looking Andrew. I tried to smile but the cut on my lip made me think twice of it. " Andi, can you hold my hand? I will be okay. " I tried to reassure him as he walked over and took my hand carefully. " Who did this, Oni!? " I heard Zero growl out and just focused on Andi. Matty ran into the room and stopped when his eyes landed on me. " ROSA! I WILL FUCKING KILL REGGIE! " I shrink back and continue to look at Andrew. " I am gonna go home. I need to clear my mind or I'm a hunt him down. " I nodded softly. " Sorry. " Once I finished I started coughing but he left nonetheless. Matt came over and took the first aid kit out from under my bed. " Reggie right ?" Was all he said as he took off my shirt leaving me in my bra and then my sweatpants followed so I was almost naked. " You are gonna need to rest, no training, I already called Tyler to inform him. " Reggie? Do you mean Reggie from my pack? " Zero asked Matty looking confused. " I am fine. " I said to stop whatever was going to happen. " You don't know? " Matty was tending to my open wounds and placed some ice packs on my stomach where the bruises already formed. " Alpha Thaddius, with all due respect to you, your Gamma Reggie is a dead man walking. " Zero just looked at him with wide eyes. " Explain. " Matty took a deep breath. " Reggie WAS mated to Rosa. He abused the bond and her as you can see. He's done some downright terrible things, I can explain in detail later when Rosa is asleep. He must have stopped by the house while we were all out. " Mat handed me a bottle of water that had a sleeping pill mixed in. " I am putting you to sleep. You will be fine. " I chugged half it down but stopped when my lip hurt. I laid down and passed out, not fighting anything. I know I will be haunted in my nightmares by him and what he has done to me.

I am running through the forest, clothes are torn apart and there's an ache through my entire body. I want to give up and stop but I know I can't or at least my body doesn't want to stop because I keep running. I was gasping for air and it felt like something was still wrapped around my throat. I threw the last bit of rope that was tied to my wrist and then tripped over a tree trunk as I face-planted the forest floor. I scrambled to get up so I could continue running from this nightmare but my legs were giving up. I managed to push up off the forest floor an keep running even though I didn't know where I was going to run. As I was running, I heard shifting in the woods ahead but I could not care less as long as it's not Reggie. The next thing I knew I was on the ground and the huge wolf was holding me down. I blacked out and could not hear the chaos that ensued after or care less if I was torn to little pieces. I awoke in a hospital I believe I don't know the time or what day it is or how long I've been here. I ripped out the IV in my arm then the oxygen nose thing, and gathered the sheets to make a rope to escape through the window but there were bars on it. I looked for another exit when the door opened and I saw Matty with a few others enter. Matty entered cautiously and walked slowly towards me like I would freak out at any point. I scoffed and sat down in the chair because I did not want to get back into that bed. I looked around at everyone but only saw members of the New Moon pack and not the Crimson Moon pack. I relaxed slightly but I have to keep my guard up and how the fuck do I explain what happened. Crimson Moon pack is our friend, not our rivals so would they even believe me? Matty squatted next to where I was sitting just sulking like a little bitch and then cleared his throat but couldn't find the words I assume. I started laughing and shaking my head because it was so stupid. Walking on eggshells around someone, I hate it but I understand that they are just trying to follow what the doctors probably told them. I'm not gonna sit here and act like a victim and woe is me, fuck that, I'm a get the fuck out of here and grab my bike as well as continue on with my life. Matty grabbed my hand softly and shook his head as if he could read my thoughts. Hate this friendship bond, hate how people can read me, and hate this whole situation. " I'm fine, I just want my bike and to go back to the garage. I have cars and orders to fill dude. "Matty looks at the others and then back to me and I can see the gears grinding in their minds to try and keep me at home to rest but in all honesty, I feel safer in the garage and better there. " Okay, we'll keep an eye on you though. " I changed in the restroom since the guys had no intention to leave, they only packed me a long-sleeved red baggy shirt and some black skinny jeans. I left my long black hair down, brushed my teeth, and grabbed my black jacket with The red jumpsuit apparatus on the front of it. I just wanna go to the shop and work and ugh I don't even know but I don't want to think about it honestly. I know I will have to deal with everything that happened but at this point, I feel so numb I just can't. I think going to the shop can help me calm down and find my freaking mind.

Once I woke up I finally got to the shop and parked my bike anywhere I don't care where. I get to work on a Toyota which is easy and simple for just an Oil change. It's crazy, but I couldn't think or feel halfway through and just wanted to take a ride. I got ready with all my biker gear and once on I selected some songs then I headed out I had no destination but I was going somewhere. I drove to a parking lot with a trail that you can hike. I hiked to the top then lit a cigarette, sat down and honestly couldn't think of anything. I then put out my cigarette and headed down still thinking of nothing. Once back at my bike I just sat there in the parking lot on my bike staring off into the distance of the mountains and the clouds meeting. I wasn't thinking of anything, I think I was just lost in space with too much on my mind. I don't know what I am thinking but I know I should head home, I bet the guys have fixed everything at the house with there stupid wolf genes. I set off for my house with some nice oldies playing in my ears and disregard for the speed limit.
