Chapter 9 What this woman is up to!

Damien was busy reading the reports submitted by his staff when Andrew, his mischievous cousin, entered the office and interrupted him.

"Hey, I heard some interesting news. What's with those groceries and vitamins that you have your assistant take care of? Are you becoming charitable now, bro? What did you eat? Is the whole Darkstorm family going to have a feast because of a miracle?" Andrew teased.

Ignoring him, Damien placed the folder he was holding on the desk and faced his computer. Andrew's smile faded, but he didn't give up and remained seated in front of Damien's desk. He caught a glimpse of suspicious papers underneath the piled documents.

Death threats.

"Wow, these threats keep coming one after another! Are you trying to be good now because you're scared?" Andrew provocatively remarked.

Damien turned sharply. "Scared of papers they can't even make deadly? Are you kidding me?"

"Bro, I know there are many people who hate you, so you might be used to it, but still be careful. It seems like they're obsessed with hurting you in any way possible."

Damien grinned confidently. "I have no weaknesses. If that's what they're looking for."

"Since the Prince-Of-Hell craze started, I can't tell if your haters have decreased or multiplied," Andrew commented with a laugh.

"I didn't ask to be on that pointless list."

Andrew chuckled and shook his head. "I won't be surprised if there's a line of pregnant women outside your office claiming you're the father, just to pin you down."

Damien stared at his cousin. He knew Andrew was joking, but it affected him. "Yeah... cunning women are everywhere," Damien whispered.

"They say the more beautiful, the more cunning and dangerous."

Damien fell silent, his gaze fixed on his cousin. "Andrew, would you believe me if I told you I'm going to be a father soon?"

Andrew burst into loud laughter. "No way! You, the control freak! And Jesus! You're dating a woman just to win a business deal, and you usually end up having coffee at the woman's house. I'd believe it more if you said you're still a virgin until now-"

But Andrew stopped as he noticed Damien's expression.

"Really?" he asked. "Is it true?"

Damien nodded.

"Who?"

"You don't know her. Lyka de Luca."

"Holy cow! How?"

Damien shrugged. "She's statuesque, beyond beautiful. I was dazzled."

"Wow! Aether Damien Darkstorm dazzled? Impossible. You know what? I could earn millions just by sending this news to the Prince-Of-Hell magazine."

Damien shot him a sharp look.

"Is she asking you to marry her? Wait! I just said that beautiful women are more dangerous, and it seems my theory is right!"

"She traded sex for a goddamn ancestral house that I acquired some time ago. She demanded her price right before we had sex. Can you believe that?" Damien clenched his fists. "After that, I was expecting her to claim the house, but she didn't show up. I thought she might have something serious planned, so I summoned her. That's when I found out she's pregnant."

"How can you be sure you're the father?"

"She was a virgin when I took her. I'm hell sure of that! She also told me I'm not the father."

"Virgin? You make it sound like this woman was a slut. Maybe it's not really you."

"Don't take me for an idiot, Andrew. Of course, I had her investigated and followed. My people have never failed me. I can sense that she's carrying my child. I don't know what this woman is up to, but I'll be watching her... closely."
