Chapter 5 5: All his plot

It's been years since I left the werewolf pack, and I never thought I'd come back. But now here I am, still here to help them. As I approached the pack's territory, I felt a mix of emotions - anger, sadness, and a strange sense of hope. Would Maximus be happy to see me, or would he reject me once again? I knew I was being shameless but I had to find out.

As I entered the pack's territory, I felt a strange tingling sensation, like static electricity. I knew it was the pack's magic, recognizing me as one of their own. It felt comforting, but also unnerving. I pushed on, knowing that I had to confront Max. I finally reached the pack's main house and saw Maximus standing in the doorway.

He was tall and imposing, with broad shoulders and piercing blue eyes. His hair was jet black, and he wore it long and tied back. He was still as handsome as ever. He looked down at me, and I felt like he was staring right into my soul.

"Welcome back, Brooke," he said.

His voice was deep and resonant, and it sent a shiver down my spine. I can't believe he still has so much effect on me. I can't let him know that

I stared at Maximus and his Luna, Annabell with a mixture of rage and sorrow. I could still remember the day they banished me from the pack, and the pain of that betrayal was still fresh in my mind. I wanted to lash out, to hurt them the way they had hurt me. But something stopped me. I knew that anger and violence would only lead to more pain, for myself and for the pack.

As I stood there, struggling with my emotions, i noticed Billie behind Maximus and his Luna. The child was looking at me with wide, innocent eyes.

"We need your help, Brooke," Max said.

"We are trying to find the mother of my son." Brooke was taken aback.

"You're a detective, right?" he said. "We need you to use your skills to track down the mother."

At first, I was confused by his request. But then, it hit me - it was all a ploy to get me back to the pack. I felt a surge of anger and betrayal. "You tricked me!" I shouted. "You used the child to lure me back here!"

Maximus and his Luna looked taken aback by my outburst but I couldn't care less. I couldn't believe they would do something like this.

"No, that's not what we meant," He said. "Please, just listen to us."

"We found Billie and took him as our own. I realized he was my child but I don't know who his mother is so I need your help" Max said.

I was a bit taken aback but I wasn't in the right frame of my mind to even think about it

"I don't want to be here," I said. "Please just let me leave"

Finally, Max nodded.

"Very well," he said. "We will show you to your room."

Two guards stepped forward and escorted me to a small room, with a bed and a desk. It was simple, but it would have to do for the night. Once the guards left, I collapsed on the bed, exhausted from the day's events.

As I laid on the bed, my thoughts were racing. I felt like a fool for thinking that Max actually wanted me back. But he had just used me, just like he always had. I remembered all the times they had manipulated and used me, and I felt a deep sense of shame and regret. I vowed to myself that I would never let them use me again. After completing my mission, I would leave and I would never look back.

The next morning, I awoke with a mission. I would do what I came here to do - find the mother of the little boy - and then I would leave. I had no intention of having any further interactions with Max or his Luna because it will only open closed wounds and bring back memories I had pushed away. As I got dressed, I rehearsed what Iwould say to the people in the pack. I would be polite, but firm. I would not let them get the better of me again. With my mind made up, I left the room and started to explore the pack's compound.

As I walked through the familiar halls, I was hit with a wave of nostalgia. I had spent so many years here, and I couldn't help but feel a little homesick. But I quickly reminded herself that this place was no longer my home. My real home was with the humans, where I was respected and treated fairly. I miss Kathy and Scarlett. Even though I feel bad about lying to them, I couldn't tell them about my real identity. I squared my shoulders and continued on my way, determined to find the mother of the little boy and return to her true home.

Grace was running through the garden, hair flying behind her. When she saw me, she stopped in her tracks and let out a gasp.

"Brooke!" she exclaimed, running towards me.

She threw her arms around me. and we embraced tightly.

"Oh, I've missed you so much!" Grace said, her voice full of emotion.

"I've missed you too, Grace," I said, smiling.

"It's so good to see you again."

We stood there, hugging each other for a long moment, before finally letting go.

"What are you doing back here?" Grace asked, her eyes shining with curiosity.

"I'm here on business," I said, trying to keep her voice level. "

Just as Grace and I were getting started, Max appeared, his expression stern.

"I'm sorry to interrupt," he said, "but I need to speak with Brooke alone."

Grace's face fell, but she nodded and stepped away. I turned to him, glaring daggers at him. I planned on going about my mission without any disruption but Max doesn't want to make things easy for me.
