Chapter 5 Entangled

"Who is making such a fuss at the gate?", Lucas arrived.

"You bastard", Joyce throwed her clutch at him which hit him square in the face.

"You... you"the guard was about to hit her, surprised at her daring actions.

"Let her be", Lucas wiped the blood off the corner of his lips.

"Why did you do that, why?", Joyce asked immediately they entered the mansion.

"You're asking me,we both know so well why I did this, you left me with no choice. i can remember telling you that I have thousands of ways to make you fall on your feet and crawl back to me, this is just the tip of the iceberg", Lucas scoffed.

"This is an issue between you and i but you decide to involve innocent souls, to destroy innocent souls,why are you this heartless ", Joyce cried.

"I never told you am a kind-hearted person", Lucas sat comfortably on the sofa "whatever I want a must get at all cost, I don't accept failures, their fate lies in your hands you are the one to decide their future".

"And if I say no ". Joyce replied stubbornly

"That's none of my business", Lucas replied nonchalantly.

"Please can't you just let me let them go, I don't want to do this ,am someone's fiance ", Joyce pleaded tearfully.

"Why is it so hard for you to agree to be my woman, whatever he offers you I can also offer you in tenfolds, so why are you hesitating?", Lucas pressed her against the wall savoring the sweet scent of her perfume.

"You don't understand".

"What do I not understand, you are the one that doesn't understand the severity of this issue ,his father is going to be executed ,his mother is going to die due to lack of treatment and he.. he will be a goner "he laughed sinisterly as she shuddered violently."but you can change their future,just a yes or no,their lives depend on your attitude", he held her face and kissed her carefully, ripping off her clothes and carried her up the stairs and into the bedroom.

Joyce gaze absently out of the window of the Porsche as it moves through the morning traffic towards the Tiffany corporation. she wondered how the hell she had arrived to this point in her life, to the point where she had to sacrifice herself, but the sacrifice was worth it.

She would do anything for Luke, he was there for her when she was at her lowest,he provided and catered for her.

"What is it are you regretting it now ?,too bad it's too late you are mine", he laughed.

"When will Mr Wesley be released?,"she asked

"By the end of today ,now listen as my woman you are to live with me, you'll be moving in tonight besides you're not allowed to have any relationship with any other man. you must not get close to any other man except me or else consider the person a goner",he ordered

"Okay" she replied inaudibly.

Later in the afternoon, Mr Wesley was released and things took a positive turn, she could finally sigh in relief,in the evening, she headed to her rented apartment to pack her belongings as ordered by Lucas.

She was surprised to find several missed calls all from Luke.

""Joyce father was finally released and now everything is going to be fine", Luke said excitedly.

"Congratulation",she replied.

"Is something amiss, you don't sound good", he asked filled with worry."ever since I've been at the hospital last night you never showed up did.. did something happen that night".

"About this I'll tell you tomorrow, I've been busy with work for now I have to go".

She ended the call as Lucas entered and he eyed her suspiciously.

"Who were you on the phone with?",he asked.

"I can't even make calls without your permission", she scoffed.

"Of course not,I'm just worried that you might be talking to other man behind my back",he hugged her from behind, gently taking off her dress.

Luke stood outside the apartment devastated as he watched as the light in the room ahead went off. He didn't want to believe that she did this to him, that she betrayed him.

He had always thought she was different from those women but it turns out to be his own wishful thinking,when his family was at the brink of collapsing, she immediately latched onto another man, dumping him.

Looking at the luxurious car that was parked by the roadside,he could only smile selfdepreciatingly clenching his fist tightly.

"Power is indeed the greatest aphrodisiac of all".

After some minutes the two of them walked out of the house cuddling, a guard carrying her suitcase.

Luke was even more surprised when he saw her suitcase, it turns out she had already made up her mind and was even going to live with him. "there is nothing like true love in this world".he lamented.too bad I couldn't see the guy's face.

The next day she phoned Luke and they both agreed to meet later in a restaurant. immediately after work she left the office and headed to the restaurant.

"Where is she?", Lucas asked his chauffeur as he entered the car and didn't see Joyce.

"Miss Joyce might be in the office,I haven't "seen her perhaps she's working overtime", the chauffeur answered

"Her office was closed when I pass by just now, she isn't at her office and she isn't the car either, hehehehe",he smirked sinisterly turning on the GPS tracker.

Regal restaurant

Luke and Joyce sat quietly in the silence,eating.the room was filled with an awkward silence.

"How is father and mother doing?", Joyce asked initiating a conversation.

"Good", luke replied indifferently

"Is something wrong,are you feeling unwell?", she asked worriedly surprised at his nonchalant attitude.

"Aren't you tired of pretending?,what a good actress you are, you deserve an Oscar award", Luke cut her off coldly.

"What do you mean?", she was utterly confused

"How do you feel switching in between two men, it must be fun right.just last night you were on his bed and here you are today acting all cool and innocent, it turns out that I had underestimated you all along you are no different from a slut ", Luke yelled at her angrily.
