Chapter 8 Saying Yes To One Date

Alisa slept for a long time in Jason's arms and when she opened her eyes, the sun was about to set. She felt warm all over and was giddy. Ingrid for the 1st time since they met was super excited and satisfied.She snuggled deeper into the comforting source of warmth that she could feel. A satisfied smile appeared on her face and then she realized something was wrong. Her hands trailed around, exploring this weird source of warmth and then it clicked. She was lying on top of someone, someone strong and muscular.She blushed at the thought and rolled off him, but before she could fall off the bed, Jason caught her arm. Her eyes were still closed in embarrassment. If she could not see his face, then she could pretend she did not just wake up lying on top of him."Careful, you'll fall" Jason chided in amusement. He was overjoyed when her tender hands roamed his body, and it took a lot of control to not pin her under him and claim her immediately. He had laid her on the bed and stayed beside her to hold her, but she kept snuggling into him until she was laying on him."I won't fall" she replied trying to pull her hand away, but he would not let go. He wanted to tease her a little."Wow! Do you plan to dump me right after using me?" he asked in a mock sad tone.Alisa flushed crimson and was speechless for a second. She had to agree that she indeed took advantage of him and there was no excuse for her actions. She was not one to owe someone, so she decided to settle the debt immediately."What do you want then?" she asked, still refusing to look at him. She stared at the door like it was a magnificent piece of art and she was just seeing it for the 1st time.Jason's eyes rounded in shock and a wide smile spread across his face. He was a sucker for rewards, and he was elated that his mate wanted to give him a reward."Why don't we go on a date?" he asked after a moment of contemplation. He had no intention of staying in this pack for another day. He had a lot of pending work to do, and his assistant must be buried in work. Although he did not want to go back to work, he had a deep sense of duty towards the packs, their organization and the millions of families fed through the business they ran.He would very much love for her to go back with them but asking for it now might be pushing his luck. He would rather take her on a date and coerce her into saying yes. He was confident in his charm and was ready to bring in his A game.Alisa blushed at the thought of going on a date with him, but she did not see anything wrong with it. She had never been in love and had never gone on a date before so she was curious to know what it would feel like. She wondered if it would be like those scenes in the movies she watched. Too shy to reply, she meekly nodded her head."Is that a, yes?" Jason asked happily and Alisa nodded again before running into the bathroom.Jason hurriedly jumped off the bed and hurried off to get ready for his date. He texted Jordan about the date and told him of his plan to convince her to go back with them. He also encouraged Jordan to work hard without worry as he will make sure to take proper care of their mate.Reading his brother's text message, Jordan squeezed his phone in annoyance shattering it to pieces. His assistant Mike took out a brand-new phone and handed it to him immediately.Seeing the sour look on Jordan's face, the Alphas gulped down nervously. An angry Lycan was a terrifying remarkable sight. They silently prayed for their lives as they held their breaths in fear of breathing loudly and annoying him.Jordan glared at them coldly, yesterday, the first half of the summit had gone smoothly but somehow today, the Alpha's seemed to have a lot of issues to report. Somehow, he believed they were intentionally keeping him away from his mate. If he postponed the meeting, then he would have to spend an extra day here which would affect his business and that might also give the Alphas more time to produce more issues to report.Pack rivalry was common, and this was his duty, so he was not mad at them. The only thing that bugged him was having to sit here while his brother enjoyed some alone time with their mate. He was reluctant to miss out such an opportunity.His glare was still fixed on the Alphas as he asked, "Anymore issues?"The Alphas looked at each other nervously, they were reluctant to speak as they feared for their lives. They were not happy with the idea of giving up but were too scared to risk their lives."Mike!" Jordan roared suddenly scaring the shit out of them."Yes, my lord," Mike replied immediately as he bowed with respect."Handle whatever issues they have as you see fit. If they argue with your decisions, tear them apart and select a new Alpha to take their place." He instructed Mike and left the hall.The Alphas were dumbstruck, but they did not dare to argue. Mike might only be the king's beta, but he was an Alpha by blood and a Lycan. Slaughtering them all at once will not be hard for him.Alisa did not want to dress up for the date so as not to give Jason any ideas but found herself rethinking it repeatedly. It was already past 6 in the evening and the moon will reach its apex around 9:20pm. She was expected to be at the town square by 8:30 as the ceremony starts by 9.She would have to wear a dress and a cloak to the town square for the ceremony so she felt she might as well wear the dress to the date as she may not have the time to come back and change before the ceremony begins. This might be the only date she will ever go on with a fated mate so she might as well enjoy it.Before sunrise tomorrow, she will be miles away from the pack and ready to board her flight to Toronto. There she shall start her life anew and maybe join a new pack if she wishes to.She glanced at the packed backpack under her desk, folded her cloak into a small bag and left the room. 'Time to get this done and leave this part of my life behind' she thought as she walked towards the staircase.Jason and Jordan heard her bedroom door open and close. They nervously got up from the sofa and walked to stand at the foot of the stairs. Jason glared at Jordan one last time before focusing his eyes on the stairs. He had clearly asked Jordan to work diligently while he went on a date with Alisa, but this prick had to crash their date. He knew he had no right to ask Jordan not to be here but felt annoyed that he did all the work and Jordan was about to share in his reward. He was slightly disappointed it won't be just him and Alisa on this date, but he was more scared that she may cancel the date if Jordan insisted on tagging along. The closer her footsteps came, the harder their hearts beat until she was standing before them at the top of the stairs.As they laid their eyes on her, their hearts skipped a beat as they admired how gorgeous she was in her white dress and white heels. She held a small black bag in hand and her usually tied up hair was loose. Her hair fell all over her resting casually on her bosom attracting their attention to it. She was a lean girl, but she was gifted in that department.Alisa was stunned to see them dressed neatly in black suits with their hair neatly packed away from their faces. She forgot to breathe as she stared at the godly men before her. The only word that came to mind as she stared at them was the word 'beautiful'. No matter how handsome an Alpha was, beautiful could never describe them giving how rough and intimidating they looked. The men before her did not fit in that category, they looked cool and well-kept and she found them beautiful. "You look gorgeous" Jason complimented as he came back to his senses and Alisa blushed without a word as she walked down the flight of stairs."His right, you look great in that dress" Jordan added sincerely."Thanks" Alisa replied flushing more under their intense gazes."I remember saying yes to only on date tonight" she said staring at them.Jordan's face fell and he panicked a little.
