Chapter 7 Keep Her Safe

Alisa brewed some tea and prepared bacon and eggs with lots of pancakes since she would be feeding Alphas.Jason was quite pleased with the look and smell of the meal, but Jordan seemed uninterested. Seeing their reactions, Alisa smiled as she shook her head. She couldn't believe that two guys with the same face could be so different."How old are you?" Jason asked as he stuffed his face"18" Alisa replied taking a sip of tea. "You don't act like it" Jordan replied as he kept staring at the dishes. He looked like he had no plan of eating any of it."When you have to grow up without your parents, you will turn out like me" she replied before taking another bite of pancake.The two had looked at each other and said nothing. They had investigated her, so they had a rough idea about the kind of life she has led so far."I'm sorry about that" Jordan said looking at her with deep affection. she blushed for a second before clearing her throat."Since I told you my age, you should tell me yours, don't you think?" she asked, diverting their attention from her blushing face."We are 36" Jason replied casually with a shrug. Alisa's mouth fell open in shock. She hadn't expected them to be so old, especially since they don't look a day above 20. She knew Lycan's aged slowly after they turned 18, but she had no idea they could be so old yet look so young.She began to feel uncomfortable and embarrassed when she remembered how disrespectful she had been. She always respected her elders, and she might have been a bit more polite if she knew their age earlier on. [36]"I apologize for my earlier disrespect" she whispered awkwardly, avoiding their gaze.Jason burst into laughter while Jordan just smiled in satisfaction.Jason's laugh made Alisa more embarrassed, so she hurriedly ate her meal and fled to her bedroom to prepare what she needed for the ceremony tonight.She pulled a suitcase out from under the bag and took out a white cloak from it."Mom, I will be partaking in the ceremony tonight and shift into my wolf." she whispered, her voice breaking at the end as tears flowed from her eyes."Her name is Ingrid mom and she's quite lovely. I wish you were here to meet her. I... (Sniffling) they are 2 Lycan Alpha's downstairs" She chuckled and sighed before continuing "They are my mates, and they seem to be nice people, but I don't know if I can trust them. Dad had betrayed you after all so what is stopping them from betraying me too? I really wish you were here mom."Alisa sat on the floor with her head on the bed as she cried silently. She hadn't cried in a long time and considering all that was happening in her life and the fact that she was going to be the only wolf turning tonight that would not have a family to cheer her on made her heart bleed.Downstairs, Jordan looked at Jason and then at the plate of food before him."If you don't want to eat it, give it to me" Jason said reaching his hands to take the plate but Jordan slapped his hand away.He was dying to eat the food, but he was used to having someone taste his meal first. He didn't think she would poison him, but it felt uncomfortable to him, and he didn't know what to do.Steeling himself, he put a bacon in his mouth and in that moment, he felt a dull pain in his chest. He was feeling stuffy, and his heart felt heavy. One look at Jason, he could tell they were both feeling something similar."Go to mate" his beast howled in his head.The two of them made their way up the stairs and through the open door, saw Alisa curled up on the floor crying."Hey" Jason cooed as he walked into the room. He pulled her up and into his embrace where she cried herself to sleep.The whole time she cried, Jordan had his hands bawled into fists. He hated that there was nothing that he could do for her. He was pissed at whatever made her cry so much and was determined to protect her no matter what it took."Let's take her back to our suite in the packhouse and get the car ready to leave" Jordan said and turned to leave the bedroom when Jason stopped him."We can't, tonight is the blood moon and giving that she just turned 18, she is required to shift tonight under the guidance of her pack."Jordan paused for a moment and then replied "We'll leave tomorrow then"Jason nodded and then said "In the meantime, go dismiss the Alpha's" The summit was supposed to be a 2 day meeting but they rushed through it in one night just to get to her. This morning, they were meant to wrap things up and dismiss the other Alphas, but they hadn't rather, they've been with her."Mike can handle it" Jordan said dismissively. There were no threats to the packs, so he didn't see why he was needed there. His mate, however, was in pain, and he would rather stay here with her."They won't leave if they don't see any of us. As the king, this is your duty. I will stay by her side until she wakes up. Jason replied to put him at ease.They had not slept at the packhouse last night and people must have noticed. He didn't want people to start gossiping about their affairs as it might upset Alisa. She hadn't been announced and so, no one knew she was mated to them, and she might be shamed by bitches just like what happened yesterday. He didn't care if the rumors spread but he was afraid that she might mind."Fine! Keep her safe, I'll round everything up as quick as possible" Jordan said and stormed out of the house. The earlier he leaves, the earlier he would return.
