Williams company was marching on Caen and took three hours it wasn't an easy march but wasn't really eventful it was quiet which scared everyone. The company stopped and took a break they ate and drank from the canteens and traded with passerbys and kept on their way
Lieutenant-General O'hare's division had already taken Caen now they were on their way to Paris but they had one stop to make L'Aigle there was some fighting but wasn't too difficult took them a day to reach the rendezvous point at L'Aigle as soon as they reached it they expected heavy fighting
Surprisingly there was no hostiles in the vicinity and cleared the town with no opposition their luck has changed as they were waiting for their next orders William was writing in his journal
"Today is August 5 1939 we rendezvoused with Lieutenant-General O'hare's Division yesterday and made it to L'Aigle this morning what is weird is on the way we had some resistance but nothing too major but we got here there wasn't a hostile in sight what are the Balkans planning
I have to keep alert and on my toes something is not right we should be on our way to Paris now Brandis is telling me what it's like living in Australia where he's from, kinda different we're waiting for orders hopefully mills will be back soon"
William's squad finally got orders to scout ahead two jeeps and some men before leaving William got a field promotion to corporal he's in charge of the squad
