Chapter 8 The Wishes Of Laura's Parents

Laura sensed that a pair of eyes were watching her and Aldrich's movements, but she tried to ignore it.

Laura's anxiety was not because she was afraid of the eyes watching her, but because her wish to marry Aldrich had not been fulfilled.

On the other hand, Aldrich also felt that he was not ready for a more serious relationship, especially now that his father was moving away from him.

That morning, Laura hadn't filled her stomach with food at all, her body still felt weak and dizzy after the appearance of a vampire in her house.

"Laura, have you eaten?" asked Aldrich gently.

"Not yet ... I have no appetite," She answered spoiled.

"I also haven't had breakfast since this morning, let's eat together," said Aldrich.

Laura shook her head while looking deeply at Aldrich.

"But, I am hungry ... you also have to fill your stomach to get well soon," said Aldrich.

"My head hurts, Aldrich."

Aldrich then touched Feilka's forehead to check her condition.

"You have a fever. I will take you to the doctor after breakfast, okay?"

"I don't want to. I am afraid of injections," Laura whined.

"You're just like a child." Aldrich pinched Laura's cheek, he smiled at Laura.

"She is still a kid." Suddenly Georgia stepped into Laura's room, the door was slightly ajar, carrying a tray of food and drinks on it.

"Auntie... g--good morning," said Aldrich, a little surprised to see Kinara's appearance.

"Laura, Auntie brings you breakfast." Georgia walked slowly towards the study table and placed the tray on the table.

"I don't want to eat, Auntie. I have a headache."

"So, hurry eat and take medicine, so you don't get dizzy anymore," replied Georgia.

"Come on eat first, if you don't want to eat, I will kiss you," whispered Aldrich teasing his girlfriend.

Laura widened her eyes hearing Aldrich's words earlier, she was afraid that the whispers would reach Georgia's ears.

"Aldrich... have you had breakfast yet?" Georgia asked gently and attentively.

"Yes, Auntie," He lied.

"By the way, there is something I want to talk to you about, we can just chat outside while accompanying me to breakfast," said Georgia to Aldrich.

'Why Aunt Georgia suddenly wants to talk to me? What is it?' Aldrich thought.

"Come on, Aldrich."

"Alright, Auntie. Sorry, I will follow your auntie to the dining room, Laura," Aldrich said, then Laura nodded at the handsome man.

Georgia and Aldrich came out of Laura's room and they met Wallace also Vienna in the dining room.

Aldrich felt like he was about to attend a thesis trial on campus, the atmosphere was so serious and tense.

In her room, Laura smiled faintly because all her family members fully supported Laura's desire to get married to the one of boyband's members.

Aldrich sat in front of Laura's parents, before starting the conversation, Vienna served him two sandwiches and a glass of hot tea specially made by Georgia.

Georgia learned Aldrich's favorite food from her niece when they chatted last night.

"Aldrich, please eat the sandwich first." Vienna smiled, but the expression on her face could not hide the fear that Vienna was feeling.

"Thank you, Auntie," replied Aldrich.

Reluctantly, Aldrich ate the sandwich in front of the Laura family.

"How does it taste? Is it good?" Georgia asked Aldrich who seemed to be enjoying his homemade bread.

"D-- delicious ... thank you, Auntie."

When Aldrich ate the light dish, Georgia and Vienna were daydreaming, and so was Wallace. Since then they hadn't touched the breakfast at all.

The atmosphere made Aldrich even more confused, especially after hearing Laura's story about the appearance of vampires in the house.

'What is this? Why are they silent like this?' thought Aldrich.

A few moments later after breakfast, Wallace started a conversation with Aldrich without further ado.

"Aldrich, next month Uncle and Aunt will prepare a wedding ceremony for both of you."

Deg! Aldrich gasped when he heard Wallace's statement which was so firm and straightforward.

"You must immediately inform your parents of this plan, after you get married go to another city or to New York City to avoid the vampire," Wallace continued.

"What?Married?? I have to marry Laura and move to another city?" He asked to confirm Wallace's words.

"That's right, Aunt doesn't want anything to happen to Laura because she's the only child in this family," said Vienna.

"Then what about me? Should I leave my hobby and band for Laura?" Aldrich objected to their sudden request.

"I don't want to accept your rejection, Aldrich. Regarding your hobby and band, we can talk about it after you officially become Laura's husband," said Wallace.

"I am sorry, but I am not ready to marry Laura yet. Uncle can't force your will on me." Aldrich's facial expression showed resistance to Wallace.

"But you--"

"Aargghh!! Please... Dad... help me!" Laura shouted from inside her room.

Everyone who heard Laura's scream rushed over to her with lightning speed.

"Laura! What are you doing?!" asked Georgia, she hugged her niece who looked very scared.

"Va--that vampire I--it's reappeared...he--he's threatening me," She stammered.

"Are you serious? Where is the proof that there are vampires here? I don't believe it," said Aldrich, feeling that she had been lied to Aldrich.

"I--I'm not lying, h--he almost ... almost bit me," said Laura trying to reassure Aldrich.

"Aldrich! Did you see that?! Laura was terrorized by a vampire ... this house is not safe," said Wallace.

"So how about it, Aldrich? Are you going to keep rejecting our request or accept it? Think about Laura's life, if you move to New York City maybe the vampire won't be able to find Laura," Vienna looked at Aldrich expectantly.

"Don't disappoint Laura, Aldrich," Kinara chimed in.

"But I still want to pursue my dream, I've wanted to be a vocalist for a famous band for a long time. Even if I could be a solo singer." Aldrich stood his ground.

"Then what about my daughter?! Do you want to see her being terrorized constantly by that blood-sucking creature?!" Wallace's emotions peaked.

"You said if you love and serious with Laura, if you are serious, just get married. Later in New York City you can continue your dream," said Georgia urging Robert.

"That's right, Aldrich. I will help you become a famous solo singer there."

"I'm not sure, Uncle." Aldrich took a deep breath.

"Please think again. This is for Laura's future, I don't want Laura to be stressed or even depressed."

"Well, if Uncle and Aunt really want a marriage between the two of us, I will discuss it with my parents first." Aldrich gave up, his position was so weak that he couldn't go against the wishes of Laura's parents.

"Thank you, I am sure your parents will agree with our request." Wallace patted Aldrich's shoulder.

"Then I'll go home first, Uncle, Auntie," Aldrich said goodbye to the Laura family.

"Be careful on the road, okay?" Wallacr and Vienna replied in unison, while Georgia was indifferent to the man.

After saying goodbye, Aldrich went home. He hoped Arthur would agree to his decision to marry Laura soon.

Everyone imposed their own will on Aldrich, no one understood and supported his aspirations as a vocalist for a famous band.
