Chapter 4 4 Ridiculous Offer

Aldrich ate his tteobokki alone while waiting for Edo to come to the neptune cafe, he remembered his first meeting with Laura at the Faculty of Literature in 2017.

The approach to Laura only took two months before they finally made it. Since then, Aldrich had intended to make Laura his future wife because he didn't want anyone else to take Laura away from him.

Flashback...

"Jim, there's a beautiful girl. Let's get acquainted," said Aldrich to Jimmy on the sidelines of waiting for the next class.

"Beautiful girl? Where?" Jimmy looked left and right.

"That's the one wearing the yellow dress... the one eating in front of Mr. Ahmad's booth." Aldrich pointed at the girl.

"Oh that... she is in the same class as me in Intermediate Vocabulary," Jimmy replied.

"Do you know her?" asked Aldrich curiously.

"Of course, I know that girl, her name is Laura. she is really kind and smart," Jimmy said.

"Is that so? I want to meet her first. Who knows if she wants to get to know me too," said Aldrich confidently.

"Watch out for being bitten, you know, he ... he ... he," Jimmy joked.

"Just say it carelessly, just see if I manage to meet her, you have to treat me. How about it?"

"Okay, I will treat you."

Aldrich then got up from his seat and approached the girl who was eating sandwich with her two friends in the campus cafeteria.

Without hesitation, Aldrich immediately sat on the girl's right, making the other two girls surprised by Aldrich's attitude which was considered to disturb their lunch.

"Hi... may I get to know you? My name is Aldrich." He held out his hand to Laura.

Laura then quickly wiped her lips with a tissue, while she was still chewing the sandwich in her mouth. Immediately, Laura's throat tightened when she saw Aldrich's face.

Good grief! This guy... is really cute, like a boy band member from Korea. Laura thought.

"Laura, why are you so blank?" asked her friend.

"It must have been because of seeing him. Eh, you better get out of here and don't bother Laura!" Another friend rebuked.

"Oh Jes, Laura can't talk like that. The sandwich is stuck," said her friend.

"Drink, drink." The girl called 'Jes' gave a glass of water to Laura.

Laura spontaneously took the glass and quickly drank the entire contents, and she choked.

"Cough, cough, cough...."

"Are you nervous around me?" asked Aldrich.

"This is a strange person, really. There is a girl who chokes and keeps on being made fun of." Laura's friend said to Robert.

"Let's go, let's go. I'm lazy to do it, come on Laura, Elsa." continued Jessi.

"H--hold on, Sa, Jes." Laura concluded to her two friends, her eyes watering from choking earlier.

Aldrich couldn't stop staring at the girl's face, a girl who was as charming as the daughter of an ancient king.

"Can I get to know you, can't you? If you can't, there's no problem," said Aldrich, feeling a little disappointed.

"Yes, why. What was your name earlier?Albert?

"My name is Aldrich, not Albert. Are you Laura?"

"Yes, my name is Laura Jones. Nice to meet you," She replied with a sweet smile.

"Nice to meet you, too." Aldrich shook Laura's hand.

"Are you a literature student too?" Laura asked curiously.

"Yes ... English Literature Student," said Aldrich quickly.

"Meet my friends, Jessica and Elsa."

"Hi Jessica, hi Elsa," said Aldrich kindly.

"Have you met him? If you finish your food, then go to Mrs. Sheila's class, I'll wait! Sorry, I don't have time to meet this man!" Jessica said sarcastically.

Then, Jessica immediately finished her food in annoyance, she didn't want any young man to approach her squad or to get acquainted with one of the 'Star Princess' members at Vernon University.

After eating their food, Jessica immediately stood up and pulled Feilika's arm away from Robert.

"Come on, get out of here Laura!"

"No, Jes. I still want to talk to Aldrich."

"Why are you talking to him?! It's almost 1 o'clock, you want to skip class?"

"No, really. I'll catch up later, you guys go there first," Laura replied.

"That's up to you!" Jessica said emotionally while Elsa was silent, not daring to defend Laura in front of Jessica.

'Oh my gosh, this girl is really fierce. Tsk ... tsk ... tsk.' Aldrich thought.

Then Jessica left the canteen with Elsa who hoped to chat with the handsome boy.

Two months later, Aldrich and Laura met again in the Literature Building campus park, and since then Laura had officially left the Star Princess Squad.

Jessica also recruited new members, where the main condition was that she must not be attracted to or date men while studying for her undergraduate education at the University.

Weird and ridiculous rules for Laura even though she initially agreed to the rules made unilaterally by Jessica. Actually, Laura's bitchy attitude was not because she was like that, but because of the rules of the Star Princess Squad.

Aldrich was very proud to have a girlfriend like Laura, moreover she is beautiful, attractive, intelligent, and a college star too. Sometimes Aldrich wanted to kiss her chubby cheeks, but Laura always refused.

"Laura, I want to kiss your cheek please," said Aldrich to Laura when she visited Robert's house

"Hmm... I don't want to be kissed by you." Laura dodged.

"Why don't you want to? We are already dating," Aldrich coaxed while hugging Laura.

"No, Aldrich. Please." Laura pleaded.

"But why?" asked Aldrich wanting to know the reason.

"Since it's my first time dating, I'm afraid--"

"Afraid of what?"

"Anyway, I don't want to, sorry," said Laura.

"Alright, it's up to you." Aldrich was increasingly curious about Laura, she was very unique and different from his ex-girlfriends in high school.

"There's food, right? I am hungry." Laura changed the subject.

"Wait a minute, I'll look in the fridge first," said Aldrich.

Aldrich let go of his embrace with Laura and went to the kitchen looking for something he and Laura could eat.

That afternoon, Aldrich's parents and sisters hadn't came home yet because they were busy with their own business.

His father is a well-known hotel, resort, and bank entrepreneur in London, Arthur was assisted by Ghea and Sisca in running their business. Aldrich felt that he was getting less attention from them, so he sought attention outside the home.

His dream as a singer was never supported by his family, even after graduating from college Aldrich had to work at Arthur's company.

Fortunately, Laura fully supported Aldrich's hobbies and aspirations to become a singer.

Aldrich was daydreaming in the corner of the room, suddenly someone tapped him on the shoulder from behind.

"Aldrich, sorry I just came."

The person he was talking to was still lost in thought until Edo shouted in front of Aldrich.

"Aldrich! Hey!!"

"Eh... you just called me?"

"I'm not calling you, I called Mr. Nino," said Edo annoyed.

"Sorry, sorry."

"What are you dreaming about?" Edo asked curiously.

"No more daydreaming about anything, really. By the way, have you eaten yet?"

"No, not yet. You are thinking about Laura, aren't you?"

"Yes, I want to break up with her, Ed. You want to be her future husband, don't you?"

"Huh... broke up? Are you serious?" Edo looked at Aldrich in disbelief.

"Seriously, because I don't want to get married to her quickly," said Aldrich without expression. "I will give her to you, do you want her or not?

"What does it mean?"

"I broke up with Laura and you make her become your girlfriend, okay?"

"Is she an object? That's too much!"

"But you like her, Laura needs a husband, not a boyfriend. Meanwhile, I don't want to get married yet," said Aldrich.

"This is really a mess when your girlfriend is offered to me. Besides, it's not necessarily that she wants to be with me."

"Then what should I do, please?"

"Think about it for yourself, I don't want to interfere in your business!" shouted Edo in annoyance.

A ridiculous offer from a band vocalist just because he didn't want to get married at a young age.
