Chapter 4 Dead Feelings

Alice sobbed quietly as she walked into the cold room, with beta Ronald standing at the door.

"I... I don't know what's going on please" She sobbed, hoping he would be a bit more understanding than the Alpha was but he wasn't.

Wiping her tears, Alice sat at a corner in the cold room and cuddled her knees.

"Welcome to the Realm" beta Ronald said and slammed the door shut.

Alice hurriedly got on her feet as she realized that he was the one who had called her while she was reading. That was why his voice had sounded familiar, he was the one who had welcomed her into some realm.

Wanting an explanation from him badly and wanting to go back to her world that wasn't as bad as this, she began banging on the iron door.

"Come back! You know how I got here, right?! Tell me how I can go back!!" She banged hard on the door for minutes but there was no response.

Defeated, she slipped to the floor, right by the door and cuddled herself up.

The room was cold and it didn't have a single thing in it. The flimsy gown she was wearing was not close to being enough to protect her from the cold.

While she laid there, wondering how everything had turned out like this, she concluded that she must speak to the Alpha and let him know she is not the family of some man who killed Keira. She had to let him know this wasn't her world and she belonged to the human world.

"Maybe if I sleep, I'd wake up back in my room?" Alice guessed and closed her eyes, hoping that would be true.

"The only way to escape this is to return to your world. If you don't, no one is going to believe you are not from this place and the Alpha? He would never accept us" Her wolf side replied.

"I don't need him to accept us anymore.... I need him to let us go"

"Nowhere is better. As omegas, we are born to suffer"

Chase was in his bed, unable to sleep just like every other night for him.

"Chase" a feminine voice called and his eyes shot open.

"Keira" He called in a shaky tone. He sat up on the bed. The expression on his face was soft and his eyes contained a mix of emotions.

"I love you so much, Chase" she was clad in a white dress and there was a sad smile on her face.

It was Keira, his dead mate.

He knew she was dead, he knew that what he was seeing right now was just his own imagination. He knew he was hallucinating but he didn't care. If this was the way he could talk to the woman he loved, he was willing to do so.

"I love you too, Keira. You know that I love you so much, Keira. I... I did not want you to die" he shook his head and got up from the chair he was seated on.

"But I died anyways. I really wanted to be with you, Chase. I loved you and still love you. I only wanted to stay with you forever. I had no idea that staying by the Alpha could be so dangerous and it would take my life"

Chase felt his heart hurting badly. He felt guilty. He had not protected her enough. If he had protected her enough, she would not have gone out that night and met her death.

"And now.... The moon goddess has given you a new mate. Are you happy?" She asked and Chase shook his head.

"No.... She is not my mate. I will only have one mate in this lifetime and that is you" he replied.

"No.... Slowly, you will love her as your mate and you will forget me and then I i will fade away from your memories. You will never think of me again" she predicted.

"Nonsense!"

"I will never fall in love with someone else and I will never forget you. You know that, Keira"

"How can I know that when you have sex with others?" Keira asked.

"Just sex, I am not emotionally attached to them and you know that too" he replied her and a small smile parted her lips.

"You can not forget me, Chase. You have to keep me and only me in your heart forever. You cannot fall for that other girl, that new mate"

"I already rejected her. I won't"

"I love you, Keira" He took steps towards her and as he got closer to her, he could see her fading away.

He knew it was going to happen after all, it wasn't real. She was only an hallucination.

He reached his hard forward to touch her but she faded away completely.

He sighed and his eyes blinked, the sad look on his face vanishing and being replaced by his cold look.

He fisted his hand, feeling even more hatred for those who killed Keira.

His mind wandered off to Alice and his eyes glinted wickedly. He wasn't going to kill her, he was going to keep her around for other purposes.

"Don't think of that. She is our mate" his wolf side argued and Chase scoffed.

"She is not my mate, Jake. I already rejected her and I have told you that I am not taking anyone in" He replied.

"Right now, she is in the cold room. In that empty, cold room wearing just a flimsy gown. Don't you even feel compassion for someone who is our mate?" Jake asked.

"I don't feel anything for her, Jake. I feel nothing, absolutely nothing and even in the future, I will feel nothing for her" he sounded absolutely determined.

"You cannot be too sure about that, Chase. You know how the mate bond works...."

"Not this time. Not when I can't get over Keira" Chase cut his wolf side odd.

"Maybe she will help you get over her?" Jake suggested and Chase let out a sarcastic and yet sad chuckle.

"Help me get over Keira? Impossible. You should forget that we found a mate today. Life will continue as usual"

"Compassion, love...." He started.

"Those feelings died when Keira died"
