Chapter 7 A Cigarette Holder

Lora smiled, "If I have an opportunity, I'll take you to the set."

"Really?" Gabrielle nodded her head excitedly.

"Yes." A hint of disdain flashed in Lora's eyes. But she concealed it well.

"All right, let's sit down and talk." Yves waved his hand. "Joyce, your second elder sister, Rose, studies in a university in M Country. She'll graduate in two years. You also have a younger brother Frank. He is a sophomore in high school now and lives on campus ordinarily. You'll see him on weekends..."

Gabrielle nodded.

"Joyce, since you are here, we are a family now. Don't feel ill at ease. If you need anything, you can tell me." Faith Regan smiled, "Your room had been tidied up. Why not go upstairs and have a look? If anything doesn't satisfy you, just let us know. We can rearrange it. We'll call you later when lunch is ready."

"Thank you, Faith."

Faith turned around her head and yelled, "Mrs. Florence."

A middle-aged maid walked towards them, "Madam."

"Take Lady Joyce upstairs." Faith gave a sign to her.

Mrs. Florence walked over, stretched out her hand, and took the bamboo case, which was in Ross's hand.

Without knowing what had happened, she didn't hold it well. The case fell on the ground. The hasp, which was made of the hemp rope, broke. The case's contents fell all over the floor.

Actually, in the bamboo case, there were a few Joyce's clothes, several ancient books left by Leon, some sundries, and a sandalwood box.

Because of the fall, a jade cigarette holder fell on the marble floor and broke in two with a pop.

"Sorry." Mrs. Florence and Ross hurriedly apologized together. Then, they squatted down to tidy up the things.

But they didn't tidy up the things that they could see clearly. Instead, both of them wanted to grab the sandalwood box.

Gabrielle squinted. They were not tidying up her things. It was obvious that they were examining her things. She went over immediately, pushed them away, and cried. "Leon left these things to me. You broke them." Then, she held the sandalwood box with one hand and took the cigarette holder with the other hand.

Her loud cries startled everyone.

Mrs. Florence and Ross looked a little embarrassed.

"I didn't want to come back. It was you that went to pick me up. Now you've broken my things. Leon, they are all bad people. I want to go home..." Gabrielle stuffed the things quickly into the case, carried it, and left.

Faith gave Mrs. Florence and Ross a stare.

Both of them rushed over to Gabrielle and stopped her. "Lady Joyce, we made mistakes. Please forgive us."

"Fuck off!" Gabrielle kicked Ross directly on the leg, which caused him to stumble. Then, she raised her hand to slap Mrs. Florence on the cheek, which stunned Mrs. Florence. Then, Gabrielle went straight out of the door.

Yves and Faith looked at each other. Then, they chased after her at once.

Gabrielle pointed at Jacob. "You brought me here. Now, you send me back."

Jacob was confused. He just drove the car to the garage and went back here. What had happened?

"Why are you so hot-tempered?" Yves hurriedly walked to Gabrielle and grabbed her, "The servants are rash. You can beat or punish them. How can you be apt to leave?"

Gabrielle turned her head to the side, sobbed, and sniffled. She seemed to have a grievance.

"Mrs. Florence, Ross." Faith yelled with anger, "Quickly apologize to Lady Joyce."

Mrs. Florence and Ross rushed over to them to make apologies.

Gabrielle turned around and ignored them.

"Joyce." Yves forced himself to be patient. "Don't lose your temper. I'll punish them. Don't be angry."
