Chapter 6 The Johnson Family

All of a sudden, Gabrielle raised her eyes and looked at the rear-view mirror.

Although their eyes met in the mirror, her gaze still made Jacob shiver with cold.

However, her emotion vanished instantly. Gabrielle looked out of the window as if nothing had happened.

Jacob secretly breathed a sigh of relief in his heart then.

Half an hour later, the car entered the Johnsons' Villa and stopped at the gate.

"Lady Joyce, we arrived." Jacob didn't look back but still reminded her with a small voice, "The one that is walking towards us is the butler, Ross Field. We all call him Ross. He is a distant relative of Madam." Then, he got off the car quickly, went around the car, opened the door for Gabrielle, and took the bamboo case out of the trunk.

Gabrielle got out of the car calmly.

"Hello, Lady Joyce. I'm butler Ross Field. You can call me Ross. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, as well as Lady Lora, are waiting for you." A man in his fifties had walked over and introduced himself. He seemed to have a respectful attitude, but there wasn't any respect in his eyes.

Getting off the car, Jacob had already taken Gabrielle's bamboo case out of the trunk.

Ross stretched out his hand and took it.

"Ross." Gabrielle showed a bit of constraint. Her voice trembled faintly.

Ross curled his lip slightly and directly walked inside.

Gabrielle followed him immediately. She staggered because she might walk in a hurry.

Jacob rubbed his wrist. How could he feel that Lady Joyce should step in the entertainment industry? Her mood change was... so miraculous.

"Lady Joyce, are you okay?" Ross looked back and asked.

"I'm, I'm fine." Gabrielle shook her head hurriedly. She couldn't help but look around. Although she tried her best to control herself, she was full of curiosity, joy, and excitement.

Ross didn't say anything else, turned around, walked on the steps, and opened the door, "Please."

Gabrielle hesitated for a while, "Ross, you, you go first."

"Joyce, you finally arrived." In order to wait for Gabrielle, Yves stayed at home on purpose. At this moment, when he saw her arrive at the door, after taking a look at his wife, he was the first to get up and wave to her, "Come in. I'll introduce everyone to you."

But Gabrielle lowered her head and didn't move.

"Come in." Yves walked up to her and pulled her.

"Dirty." Gabrielle recoiled.

Then Yves took a look at her shoes and frowned.

"Here, change into the slippers." A graceful woman walked towards them with a smile. She took a pair of slippers and placed them on the floor in person, "Joyce, right? Here will be your home from now on. Don't feel ill at ease."

Gabrielle changed into the slippers and walked inside reservedly.

"Joyce, this is my wife. You can call her Faith. This is your eldest sister Lora. Knowing that you'll come today, she specially came back to wait for you." Yves began to introduce them. "You should know that your eldest sister is very busy."

Gabrielle greeted them in a low voice.

"Joyce." Lora walked to her and held her hand. "Welcome home."

"Thanks...thank you..." Gabrielle maintained her composure and looked Lora up and down. She was quite pretty. However, without the TV's filter, although she applied some concealer, freckles on her face could still be seen. Gabrielle wore an envious expression appropriately. "I've seen you on TV. There are also your pictures on the billboards."

The so-called big shot in the film and television industry, who said Lora was a beauty that had been rare to see for a thousand years, definitely was a person that wanted money rather than his reputation.
