Chapter 4 FOLASAYO ARRIVAL

(Chapter four)

Pa Oni knew that by the end of July, Sayo would be returning home. By the middle of July, he called Madam Asa, the organiser of his home and advised:

"Asa, Sayo will soon be at home to start work.

She is no longer a school girl. We should arrange for her to have a sitting room and a bedroom to herself. The room must be repainted and furnished."

With profuse joy, Madam Asa responded:

"It is whatever you say that we shall do. But everything you've just mentioned is what a man should do and as such you should arrange for the necessary things.

Madam Asa could conveniently do the arrangement if not because it was her own daughter that was involved. She did not want to incure the jealousy of the co-wives.

The arrangement was made and the place was colourful before Sayo arrived. She loved the place. She already knew what her parent had in min; she would be living under the same roof with them while she worked in the hospital.

She prayed to her and said:The wicked hands of sons of men will not reach you wherever you go. Your morning will be bright, your afternoon will shine and your night will be luminous. You will go well and return well."

As Madam Asa was blessing her daughter, she stsrted to cry. The Mother embrace her: She sobbed but she wiped her face, knelt down and humbly said,

Thank you mama."
