Chapter 4 Samuel Was Annoyed

Tessa just shrugged.

"Let him be. He just followed me. I don't think he'll do anything to hurt me."

After a busy day, Tessa had a restful evening.

For the longest time, her greatest fear was that Samuel would leave her, but now that they were no longer together, all she could feel was relief and acceptance.

She thought she would not be able to fall asleep that night, but she was wrong. She dozed off as soon as she lay on the bed.

It seemed she was really better off without that man.

When Tessa opened her eyes again, it was morning.

After freshening up, she went to the dining room and smiled as she stared at the food on the table. It was obvious she was in a good mood.

Because her and Samuel's tastes in food were so dissimilar, she had spent the past three years adapting to his preferences.

Now that she was on the path to loving herself, she would eat whatever she wanted, and that thought made her so happy.

That morning, she received a call from Monica. The Morris Group's legal team wanted to meet her, and Monica had chosen the location of their meeting place on her behalf.

After eating breakfast, Tessa went out.

Outside the villa, in a car, a man muttered, "Mr. Pearson, she went out."

"Follow her."

The expression on Samuel's face was one of annoyance. It had never occurred to him that Tessa might have her own private residence. What was more, she was the one who was more eager to finalize their divorce. All of a sudden, he felt like he did not know her at all.

Denis was already at the meeting place when Tessa arrived. He was sitting by the window. She walked up to him with a smile. "Denis, you're early."

The man looked up, and then his brows shot up in shock. "Tessa?"

Tessa nodded. "Yes, but right now, I'm Iris."

Denis gaped at her. "Tessa... You..."

Once upon a time, he looked up to Tessa because of her stellar academic performance. However, he never thought that she and Iris were the same person.

Suddenly, it was hard to conceal his attraction for her.

Then the two of them wasted no time getting down to business and discussing the case.

Meanwhile, inside the car, Samuel scowled harder.

From his position, he could make out a man sitting across from Tessa. He could not see his face, but he could clearly see the bright smile on Tessa's face.

Samuel was annoyed. But he did not know why.

He was sure that Tessa was completely obsessed with him, so how could she smile at another man like that?

Tessa, unaware that she was being watched, continued talking about business with Denis. Following their discussion, they shared a simple meal before parting ways.

When she remembered that it had been a while since she went shopping, she decided to go to a mall and buy herself a lot of things.

By the time she returned to the villa, it was nearly dark outside.

The servants had been sorting out her belongings for the past two days. When she came home, she was handed a list.

It was at this time that Tessa realized she had forgotten something. She brought a hand to her neck, and then her eyes widened.

Where was her necklace? This was bad. She could not lose that necklace.

Did she forget to wear it when she moved out of the villa?

After giving it some thought, she sighed in defeat and decided to go back to Samuel's villa in hopes of finding the necklace.

Inside the villa, Samuel was standing in front of the dressing table, studying the watch in his hand, when Tessa entered the bedroom.

Tessa stopped in her tracks, surprised. During their three years of marriage, not even once did Samuel step into their shared bedroom. What was more surprising, however, was that he stared at the watch once she gave him and did not even notice her arrival.
