Chapter 8

They had a subject more before it was closing time.

After her friends helped her arranged her books in her backpack, Adrienne tried to stand up but she couldn't.

Huh?

She tried again and it was then she realized that she was stuck!

"What is it Adrienne? Why aren't you standing up?" Sam asked looking worried.

"I don't know but I think I'm stuck." Adrienne cried out in frustration.

"What!" Sofia was alarmed. Who could have put glue in Adrienne's chair?

The few students in the classroom were staring at her and some were murmuring amongst themselves.

"You know what, at the count of three, the three of us should pull her up at once together okay?" Jasmine advised.

The three of them nodded and after the count of three, they pulled her up.

Adrienne was able to stand up but her skirt got ripped at the back.

"Help me go to my locker and get me my sports clothes," Adrienne said to Jasmine with her face flushed in embarrassment.

"What are you all staring at huh? Get the fuck out of here!" Sofia yelled at the students staring at Adrienne.

The cowered in fear and left the classroom.

"I can't believe this!" Adrienne cried out in despair as she waited for Jasmine to bring her sports clothes.

"Who do you think could have done this thing?" Samantha asked as she patted Adrienne's back trying to soothe her.

"I only have one enemy and it's Adrian." Adrienne replied and huffed angrily. "And I'll definitely get back at him!" She added fuming with anger.

With the three girls looking out for her, Adrienne changed into her sports clothes.

And they all left for the parking lots.

"Since your chauffeur aren't here yet, you can ride with me," Adrienne said to Jasmine and Samantha.

"Okay." The two girls smiled. "Bye Sofia, see you in school tomorrow." The three of them waved at Sofia as they got into Adrienne's car.

Sofia waved too and got into her car.

"Miss, why are you in sports clothes?" Miriam, Adrienne's personal maid asked worriedly.

"My uniform skirt got ripped at school." Adrienne shrugged her shoulders.

"Okay. I'll get your other pair ready for tomorrow." Miriam smiled.

"Okay Miriam, thank you." Adrienne smiled lightly and walked into her bathroom and slammed the glass door shut angrily.

She just couldn't stop thinking of what to do to Adrian as pay back the following day.

"Hey Max!" Adrian screamed happily over the phone.

"Ouch Adrian! You're gonna make my ear bleed," Max his best friend replied from the other side of the phone.

"Hey buddy!" Mac, his twin yelled too and it made Adrian chuckle.

Maxwell and Macalister were both identical twins and best friends of Adrian.

They always hung out when Adrian was still in Las Vegas. They were a very popular three good looking boys in their high school before Adrian left.

"How's your new school? Having fun?" Max asked softly.

"Nah, not really. Haven't made friends yet because I haven't found any like the both of you," Adrian said truthfully.

"Wow! My cheeks are red because of the sweet compliment," Mac said dramatically.

"It wasn't a compliment, it was just a fact." Adrian laughed.

"Sonia has been coming over to our house and asking about you all the time." Max stated.

Sonia was Adrian's ex girlfriend.

"That's her business. She should know that we're over. You know, there's this very pretty girl here in my new school but she's a very annoying and sassy girl.

And her family is super wealthy too. And you know one annoying thing, she bears the female name of Adrian." Adrian complained and rolled his eyes.

"Wait, let me guess, she bears Andriana?" Max laughed.

"Or Adrienne?" Mac suggested and chuckled.

"Mac is correct. Adrienne is her name." Adrian replied and scoffed.

"Wow! Are you guys like destined for each other?" Max teased.

"Don't even think about it Max. We're enemies and we hate each other. I don't think we're gonna be friends anytime soon and I'm not sure anything is going to change between us." Adrian explained.

"You never can tell dude. I mean, you said it yourself that she's pretty and I'm sure she's popular at school too. So?" Mac interjected.

Adrian didn't say anything and sighed.

"Something even happened in school today. I poured glue on her chair. I don't even know how she'd be able to stand up." Adrian laughed.

"What! You're still as mischievous as before." Max laughed.

"She started it fast, she made me trip in the cafeteria and I was so damn embarrassed." Adrian scoffed.

The twins laugh echoed in the other side of the phone.

The three of them talked for a while until the twins were called to go eat dinner. They ended the call and Adrian promised to call again.

It rained heavily that night and Adrienne could not have enjoyed the night better because she loves it when it rains.

The night was pretty cold too. She snuggled into her blanket and slept off.

Her parents came home that night and met her already sleeping. They both kissed her goodnight and went to their rooms.

The next morning, as Adrienne brushed her teeth and stared at herself in the mirror, she suddenly got an idea and smirked.

She got ready for school and happily ate breakfast with her parents which hasn't happened in a while.

She called her chauffeur and spoke to him before they left for school.

Her chauffeur gave her a shocked look but she glared back at him. He arranged his face properly and bowed.

Adrian got down from his ride outside the school gate as usual as he always prefers to walk into the school compound.

The floor was wet because of the rain that fell the previous night.

A black tinted Tesla car drove past Adrian and splashed water on him.

The driver didn't stop to apologize but instead, the back seat window rolled down and Adrienne popped out her head and smirked at Adrian who was dripping wet.
