Chapter 7
Adrienne kept glaring at Adrian occasionally as she wrote her test. Her dislike for Adrian was very obvious in her look.
After the test, Mr Fred told the class he was going to give them their scores the following day.
Adrienne was enthusiastic because she knew she would beat Adrian as she had done really well.
"Bet your ass that I'll beat you." Adrian smirked at Adrienne before walking past her seat. Adrienne was almost breathing out fire as she glared angrily at him.
During lunchtime, Adrienne and Adrian were the talk of the school about the Dior show in Paris.
"I heard you're dating Adrian." A mean looking girl suddenly walked up to Adrienne's table at lunch.
"Excuse you!" Adrienne snapped sharply at her.
"What? Am I telling lies? The news is everywhere. You went to Paris together and even slept in the same hotel.
Tell me something isn't going on between you and Adrian." The girl, Cherish continued rudely.
"Watch your mouth Flourish or whatever your name is. Adrian and I went to Paris, yes. But we weren't together.
I didn't even get on a plane, I got on my parent's private jet and the hotel I stayed at, is my parent's. I'm not bragging but I'm just making sure to clear the air." Adrienne stated calmly.
She has controlled herself not to yell at Cherish and pull her hair out for saying an absurd thing.
Everybody in the cafeteria gasped and they all turned to look at Adrienne.
They knew she was very wealthy but they didn't expect her to be this wealthy as she spoke.
Adrian just stared at her with a smirk from the end where he sat.
Jasmine frowned her face and glared at Adrienne as she boasted about her parents wealth.
Now, everybody was going to respect and worship her more. She seemed to be the richest kid in the school.
Adrian stood up with his tray of leftovers and made his way toward the counter. Adrienne saw him and placed her leg for him to trip over.
Adrian didn't see her leg and so, he tripped over her leg and fell flat on his stomach.
Everybody in the cafeteria bursted out in laughter. Adrienne smiled and removed her leg and pretended as if nothing happened.
Adrian gritted his teeth and glared at Adrienne.
His eyes spoke, "I'll get back at you!"
Adrienne only scoffed and turned away from him.
"Come on girls, let's go," she said to her friends. Sam, Jas and Sofia stood up and trailed behind her like puppies.
Adrian was embarrassed to stand up from the floor but he eventually did.
"Hey dude, don't worry too much about that sassy spoilt brat." A student suddenly walked behind Adrian. Adrian turned to look at who the student was and it was a boy he hadn't taken note of.
"I'm Fred and I'm in the same class as you. Can we be friends?" The guy introduced with a grin.
Adrian looked at him and scoffed. "Yeah, whatever." He replied and walked away.
Fred smiled and dropped his hand that he had pulled out for a handshake with Adrian buy was ignored.
As Adrian walked back to the classroom, he realized that he didn't even have any friends even though many guys had approached him.
He was still getting to know the students in his class.
*******
"We're having chemistry next, do you have the class too?" Sam asked Adrienne.
Adrienne opened her tab and checked her timetable. "Yeah, I guess so." Adrienne replied and took in a deep breath.
She picked up her books and pen and the four of them walked out of the classroom together.
"You know, I feel like Adrian is gonna get back at you for what you did in the cafeteria earlier today," Jasmine started as they made a turn to the laboratory.
"I agree too. The look on his face when he fell...I can't explain it but it wasn't a good one." Samantha replied.
"He wouldn't dare to do anything. And if he does, I'd retaliate too." Adrienne scoffed.
"But Adrienne, can I ask why you aren't on good terms with Adrian? I mean, why don't you like him?" Samantha asked.
Adrienne didn't say anything as she pushed open the laboratory door and walked in.
There were few students already seated.
"There's no reason. I don't just like him. He seems to get on my nerves every time." Adrienne finally replied as she sat down.
None of the girls said anything and just sat down.
Adrienne started going through her previous works as they waited for the teacher.
*********
Chemistry class was over and as usual, Adrienne enjoyed every bit of it especially because they had to deal with chemicals. They did experiments and it was so much fun.
And good thing for her, Adrian didn't have the class.
The four friends went back to the classroom and went to their various seats.
Adrian chuckled mockingly as he watched Adrienne take her seat. Adrienne didn't notice Adrian sly smile and sat down comfortably.
"Hey babe," Daniel, Adrienne's boyfriend walked up to her.
"Yeah, hi." Adrienne replied nonchalantly. Daniel and her had a little argument that morning when he found out that, she had gone to Paris with Adrian and how the whole class and half of the school was talking about them.
Daniel was a calm and kinda nerdy guy. His parents were wealthy too but he didn't show it.
He loves Adrienne more than she does to him. Adrienne paid less attention to him and it made him upset sometimes but he couldn't break up with her.
He loves her so much to stay away from her. They've been friends since middle school.
"Are you still mad at me Adrienne?" He asked softly and adjusted his glasses to the bridge of his nose.
"Yeah. I mean, it was nothing to be jealous about. Adrian just transferred here and it's not even up to months and you can't expect something to go on between us.
And I told you, I don't like him." Adrienne deadpanned.
"I'm sorry, it won't happen again." Daniel apologized.
"It's fine. I'm not mad anymore." Adrienne shrugged. Daniel smiled lightly and went to his seat.
They had a subject more before it was closing time.
After her friends helped her arranged her books in her backpack, Adrienne tried to stand up but she couldn't.
Huh?
She tried again and it was then she realized that she was stuck!
