Chapter 2 Pure Loyalty

Chris flinged his door open and at the same time afraid it might break apart, abruptly ran after his boss to see if he would stop his boss from being drenched by the rain. He stumbled and fell flat on the face then stood up and continued going after his boss

"Damnit, how does he learn to walk like that? He just wants to find an excuse to fire me but I am not letting him do that. I will give him no room for that."

Mr Chris fumes and curses. He does not know where his arrogant boss is heading to under the rain.

Dylan did not know why he had to get out of the car despite the heavy rain and him running late for his meeting. He just knew that he saw something and his silly driver could not get to stop the car on time. He can't tell why he still allows him to work for him. The guy is so clumsy and he, Dylan does not deal with clumsy people but for old time's sake,he will keep tolerating his nonsense but Chris should not dare him to do what he is not supposed to do.

He knew that Chris was running after him not minding the rain. Among all his employees, Chris is the most loyal one. Chris could take a bullet for him and that's pure loyalty.

He had walked a few steps when he saw that which had caught his attention and it was no other than a young girl who lay unconscious under the rain, curled and beaten blue by the heavy rain. Who is she and what is she doing here all by herself. Dylan does not have the heart to care about how people live their lives and this situation does not move him. His heart died a long time ago.

He scanned the girl and realized that she was still breathing.

"Good girl when you wake up, go home"

He said and turned on his heels and began walking back to his car.

Chris stared at him and hissed.

"What's the essence of him to come here and still go back. So the rain drenched him for nothing." Chris thought maybe for once his boss will have heart but his hopes were just shattered. What could have caused him to be this way, he has not known anyone who is cold hearted. But Chris knows deep down in his heart that Dylan Davonn has a little love left.

"Sir, she is still breathing"

He said hoping that his boss would change his mind and tell him to take care of the girl. He checked her pulse and saw that she was breathing shallowly and if she was left here, she might die.

"Chris, get your ass here. She can die for all I care"

Dylan said and continued walking.

"Sir please she will die if something is not done first"

Chris said trying to persuade his boss yet his boss kept deaf ears.

"It looks like you are tired of your job, if not, get your silly self here and take me to my meeting this minute"

Dylan thundered and Chris shuddered. He knows better than not to waste another second here. If not, sorry will be his name.

Chris turned and began walking towards his boss when he heard the most beautiful news ever. He did not believe his ears. He looked up at his boss to see if he heard him correctly but his boss was already in the car in a flash.

"Bring her Into the car"

He yelled and Chris stiffened. He was not sure he heard his boss correctly but he was still happy.

Dylan was surprised at himself but did not want Chris to see the weird look on his face, so he went into the car and watched his driver standing at the place he last saw him. He shook his head and relaxed back in the car.

He checked himself and cursed under his breath.

Now he is wet for just nothing. Curiosity, they say, kills the cat.

Dylan sat back coldly with no smile on his face, waiting for his driver to carry out his instructions. The little smile that settled on his face not quite long ago was gone without a trace.

"What the heck is keeping this guy from bringing the girl in the car. I bet is when she freezes to death then he will hurry up"

He murmured and massaged his jaw.

Chris stood for heaven knows when before he turned and walked towards the girl, getting to her, he scooped her up and walked to the car. Getting to the car he met another confusion. He did not know what to do with her, whether to lay her in the front seat but that will be uncomfortable for the body plus she is drenched and he definitely know that he is boss will complain if he misbehave and any mischief from his side would change his boss's mind and it will result that they would have to leave the girl to die.

"Damn you Chris"

His boss yelled and he jumped making sure not to drop the girl in his arms.

The door swung open and he saw his boss coming out furiously. His heart jumped to his hand and he began to shiver. He shivered so much that the girl in his arms was almost dropping to the ground when his boss snatched her from him and headed to the car. He lay her down and closed the door, glared at his driver and walked to the driver side, pulling the door open, he looked at his driver again and went in. For the second time today, Chris had the feeling that his job is at stake.

Dylan kicked the engine to life and drove off leaving his be weirded driver behind. His clumsiness is top-notch and if care is not taken for the second time again,he might lose the job.

He looked at the girl to see how difficult her breathing is and realized that she is asthmatic coupled with her being under the rain. Heaven helps her if she survives.

He has wondered if some people who know they are sick yet still will do anything contrary to their health.

He scanned her from her toes to see just a fragile teenager who is in dire need of urgent medical attention.

He increased his speed above speed level and accelerated leaving behind smokes.

The main road was clear because of the rain and by now was clearing off which is good for the girl but not for him because he has missed his meeting for sure.

The stakeholders can talk all they want and he has got no care. If they felt he offended them, let them say it to his face then he would be sure that he did wrong but for the fact none will bring it to his face, then he is cool.

He sighed and drove into Hailey's.
