Chapter 7 Oh love! Sweet love

Joel didn't call Christy back till the following morning, around past 7:am.

They had lecture by 7:45.

So, he was calling to know if he can branch to pick her and her friends.

Christy picked the call, greeted him and asked about his night.

Joel was sounding as if nothing happened, then Christy asked him he didn't see her missed calls, he denied.

He didn't actually deny. But he didn't get to see the missed calls; his girlfriend that insisted on following him to school was with his phone when his phone was ringing.

Joel had told her about Christy, though he just told her that Christy is his beastie and nothing much, he lied to her. She believed the lie, so when Christy was calling she watched the phone ring and deleted the missed calls and switched Joel's phone off.

Christy asked him again! "You didn't see my missed calls, and voice notes, for real?

"Yes! For real, my phone has been off since I got home; I needed rest so I switched it off and slept. I woke around 1Am, switched my phone on and I didn't see any missed calls" Joel tried to defend himself.

"For real? Do you have any visitor? Did ..."

She was still talking when Joel cuts in

"Hey! Hey! Nobody is here, believe me. I didn't see your missed call, you might probably call a wrong number, or maybe it didn't go through that yesterday" Joel said.

"Why are you making me feel stupid, that I didn't know your number again? Or I didn't know when numbers are unavailable" Christy asked

"I didn't say any of those things; let's forget about what I said and what happened. Can I come to your hostel and pick you? Joel asked.

"No, don't worry" she said and dropped the call.

Joel who has been in the bathroom came out and met his girlfriend in the room.

She was just busy with her phone.

"What took you so long in the bathroom? "

She asked.

"What does that supposed to mean? So, I can't take as much time as I want in my own bathroom? You got to be kidding me"

"Christy called 5 times yesterday, you should try and call her back" she told Joel.

"What? Did you delete my missed calls?"Joel asked, looking so upset.

"Yes, I did. I felt a little bit jealous and sad, so I deleted it, I didn't want you to call her in my presence."

"Are you being real now? Have I not told you that we are just bestie, nothing much! Do you know why she was calling? What if she was in a danger?" What if? "

Joel angrily asked.

"I know she's not, and I don't believe you, I feel insecure. In fact, I want to follow you to the school today!

"It's not happening" Joel replied as he dressed up for school.

"You got to choose between me following you to school or breaking this relationship"

Joel pursed a while to stare at her and continued bottling his shirt.

"Didn't you hear me? , You have to choose betw...."

"Don't make me choose woman, sit your ass down here and when you get enough of me, you fucking go to wherever you are coming from." Joel yelled at her

"You are raising your voice on me; because of that thing you called bestie"

"Say all you want but don't bring her into this, this isn't about her, it's about you wanting to follow me to school, as what? Toddler? "Joe asked.

"I see nothing wrong in following you to school, unless you are keeping something from me, or you are hiding me from someone"

"Nice! I just want to remind you that as you are here monitoring me, your school is in session, if you don't feel concerned about your future, I will be kind enough to remind you about it, focus on your future dear" Joel said as he picked the car keys on the table.

Walked through the door and to his car.

When he got to his car, he sat for a while and thought about how he was going to lie to Christy and cover up the mess his girlfriend has put him into. He thought for a while and drove off to school.

When he got to school, the lecture was about to start, so he just rushed to the hall and find himself a seat and sat.

He was sitting at the last line of seats in the hall, he tried searching for Christy in the crowed but he didn't see her.

So, he called her number but she didn't pick, so he dropped her message "let's talk after lecture"

It was a 60minits lecture but it felt like 6hrs, it was so boring for both Christy and Joel.

They always sit together and lean on each other, it happened to be the most boring class since they started dating.

After the lecture, Joel rushed down to where they used to sit in the class but she wasn't there, he called her again but she didn't pick.

So, Joel went to the front and shouted "Attention please, and he wrote something on the board "I'm looking for my girlfriend Christy, if you find her for me, I will buy you lunch for 1 whole week."

"Then people started shouting, look at her here "

Christy kind of feel embarrassed but she felt little joy that Joel introduced her as his girlfriend.

So, she walked to where he was standing and hugged him.

"Why are you trying to give me high blood pressure, don't you know that I love you?"

Joel said he hugged her tightly and the class started clapping for them and shouting "love is a beautiful thing. Oh love! Sweet love."

Then their joy was interrupted by David. Christy's project supervisor.

"Miss lover girl, how far have you gone with the project" he said as he stood an inch before them with his hands akimbo .

Then, Christy let go of Joel and greeted him.

"Good morning sir"

"Yes, I can see the morning is really good for you, so tell me? How far have you gone?

The project defense day is fast approaching and you people haven't even send any pages to my mail for proof reading? "David asked.

"We are on it sir, it's not even up to 1 week the school resumed. I think you people should give us more time" Christy said.

"Well, If it's in my power, I would! But school made the decision, they are just trying to meet up with the curriculum. If we don't graduate you people, the school won't move ahead. We have about 1million people, waiting for admission." David explained.

"Okay sir, we will send some pages before the weekend" Christy promised.

"Today is Wednesday, I made you the group head because I see you as a smart girl, don't disappoint me" David said and left.

Then Christy turned to Joel, "don't worry babe, I will help you" Joel said as he hugged her again.

"Its fine, I got this. You can't be in your group and be in my group too, I got this. I will start work immediately" Christy said to him.

She texted all the people in her group and they all met under a tree in the school premises.
