Chapter 6 Keep Searching

Grey POV

I crashed on the crispy dead leaves bearing the weight of a demigod. The smell of fresh blood excite me as a cake would excite a kid.

The night falls into a dark thick blanket as the cloud gather up as though it was about to birth a storm. The cloud became thick and murky as the colour of a crow. I dug my knuckles full of blood into the wiggling branch of an oak tree.

The blood on my knuckles wouldn't have been so exciting to me, only if they had not tempered with my Alisa. She would never have allowed her Grey out in the dark wood at this monstrous hour. But I don't care, my merciless beast had been invoked from its lazy slumber.

The rogues ate my flesh and drank my blood as if it was some sweet wine- ah they dug their grave long before now. The agony would have been less severe if it was just her crying lonely in the shady room where she has always been locked in.

At least it wouldn't have made me go this wild. It had been better if I could only hear her silent tears from the enclosed cabin, than screaming out helplessly in the same wild wood. She never listened to me she doesn't- didn't , she shouldn't have just escaped, I promised her no one will dare touch her, not when she has me.

I had always been engulfed in her arms while she whimpered, while the waterworks commence, no one wanted to get close to her, but I was there. I was there to always protect her. She groaned so much the moment she sees anger and pity in my eyes, she hated her nature, but I loved her. I loved her for the woman she was.

The pains sank to my bones, why shouldn't I feel that way? she was my life and I- I Grey cherished her than I love myself.

My earbuds wants to barred out the sounds of the chirping birds and the heavy breathe from the men standing beside and in front of me.

They were all waiting for a word to fall out of my lips, I smell their thoughts, I know the weather was deadly cold, but I don't wish to leave anytime soon. No, not when I feel like I can hear Alisa's whimpering voice over and over again.

The beast in me grew angrier motivating me to move further into the forest because killing just a rogue tonight was not enough to quench the burns in my heart. Ripping out just one heart was not enough, I don't care if I'm being called a beast, just fear me when you hear my name.

Nobody ever expected me to have been dominant and fearless overall, not a matter of being an alpha, not a matter of age, my dominance was stronger than the oldest wolf in the pack who had lived for over three hundred years. It rooted out from the soft fragile boy when the most important part of his life was rooted out like a weed...

Dealing with a carnage of rogues was never satisfying, even from the battlefield and around my territory, the pains in her eyes refuses to leave my memory box, killing is officially a professional job for me.

'' Grey, it's getting too dark. You killed enough'' Charles said in an erratic tone and of course he dare not look at my face as he speak, whether I'm his best friend or not he has never made the mistake of making his words sound like a command.

'' Going back home reminds me of Alisa. I can't help but feel the emptiness her death had left me.'' I mumbled in my deep cold voice, the wind was cutting into my skin, but it felt like a little peanut crispy snack.

'' You still have a little hope to be happy- your mate. You have to find your mate, Grey. That can help don't you think?'' Charles asked, he was dominant but not as steely as me, the heavy wind and cold was nothing to him too.

'' She is the only one that can heal those wounds, Grey..'' he sat on the broad green leave, preventing the snow from soaking into his pants. He picked the sword covered in fresh blood. I love the smell- yeah the smell from a rogue.

" I don't need to find her just to relieve me of my pains. I am capable of making myself better." I snapped, flickering the blue fleek eyes of mine.

" No doubts about that, but you need to find your mate too." Charles was cautious of his tone.

"I can't smell her anywhere close." I sighed a heap of cold out of my nostrils.

'' You haven't made the effort to sniff her out.'' he rose from the soak leave as I stood up first.

" I use my nose better than you all do." I flickered my blue fleek eyes, reddish as though it was a pool of blood to say 'let's get out of here'.

" We have to keep searching for her, Grey," Charles said. " But tonight, you have to rest, you are all messed up with blood stains." Charles was right, I would continue searching for my mate tomorrow.

We went back to the hut, we found in the woodland. Charles and other of my men searched for woods to set up fire in order to warm up the place.

They all slept, but for some reasons my eyes were widely opened all nights.
