Chapter 7 Going out together

Dad left early today and left the three youngsters at home. Juliet and Luke didn't come down for breakfast which baffled Chloe. She squinted her eyes thinking as she took in mouthful of food. Hmmm, those two have been acting mysterious since yesterday. I wonder what they are up to. It was already 10 am when she woke up.

Chloe had to deal with her modelling matters as she ate, so she spent more than an hour. It was pass 11 AM when Luke came down in a black leather jacket and walked to the door. He crossed his legs and leaned on the door looking at his phone.

Chloe held her plates as she walked to the kitchen. Where is this homie going too and why does he looks like he's waiting for someone. Dont tell me it's Juliet. Chloe gasped coming to realization. I didn't ask him to take me out.

"Brother, Where are you going that you didn't even care to take your breakfast?", She asked as she approached him.

He raised his head glancing at her. You should mind your own business. Was the response she got before he went back to his phone.

Chloe pursed her lips tightly and clenched her fists. Sometimes, she really had the urge to punch this guy.

Footsteps sounded behind them as he raised his head while she turned around. Chloe was left agape while Luke seemed petrified.

The first thing they looked at was her black shoes followed by her flower patterned dress. The gown was sleeveless and was just below her knees exposing her alluring legs and hands. Her hair was neatly combed into a bun and she had an excited smile on her face.

Chloe moved her right arm and gently closed her brother's jaws snapping him out of trance.

"You.....took you time. Let's go.", he said quickly.

"Okay. Chloe." Juliet nodded and greeted Chloe before they headed for the door.

"Hey hey you two!" Chloe quickly called them. "Where are you two going?"

Luke immediately turned around and said," when will you stop poking your nose into others business?"

"Me? When did I start that?" Chloe pointed at her self exclaiming dramatically.

Juliet immediately mediates. "Chloe, I didn't tell you because it should be a surprise. We're just going somewhere important. I'll tell you when we get back."

After listening to Juliet's soft voice, Chloe smiled at her. Of course she still glared at that brother of hers.

"If you two are going out on a date, you don't have to be secretive. " she waved her hand which made Juliet speechless.

"See, she will never say something reasonable. Let's go or we'll be late." Luke snorted and walked out the door.

Juliet waved at Chloe before joining him leaving the latter standing there with her hands on her hips. A mysterious smile slowly formed on her face. Going out huh? I'd better get ready for my photo shoot.

Luke and Juliet sat in the front seat of his car before he drove off. The place they were going was really far and this would be a long drive. Juliet didn't seem to care as she was filled with excitement. How long had it been. Except for the few encounters she had with her mother when she was young, she's been looking for her all this while.

"Don't get so excited. We aren't even sure if she is the one." Luke glanced at her and shook his head.

Juliet immediately frowned and glared at him. " Can you not be so pessimistic! "

"I've always been like this. Deal with it. Of course, I trust in that app. Not to mention that your informations really matched." Luke said his eyes straight on the road.

Juliet stared at his serious expression. This guy only gets serious when he's driving.

Luke sensed her gaze and turned to her with a smirk. "Why are staring at me? Did I suddenly get handsome overnight?"

Juliet pouted and said, " Except you want to kill us, can you keep your head on the road?"

Luke gestured with his lips. Juliet turned her head. Oh, traffic. She grunted and turned to look outside the window. The wide street and skyscrapers fell in her sight.

The car moved shortly after as Luke took a much quieter road. He stepped on it as he accelerated. They had to use the tracker to get where the meet up will be. The silent drive went on for almost an hour. The sun was shining brightly already.

"Luke." Juliet called out.

"What?"

"I'm hungry." They hadn't taken anything when they came out.

"I did tell someone to eat first but they were so giddy they refused to." Luke smiled.

"Stop moking me okay? You must be too, so just find something for us to eat." Juliet muttered.

"Okay okay. Stop whining. Girls!" He shook his head before slowing down.

It wasn't that hard to find a restaurant. It was a small fast food restaurant. Luke parked the car outside and turned to Juliet. "Wait for me here." He didn't wait for her reply before going out of the car. Hmmp! So annoying. Juliet curled her lips. She didn't know why she was finding this guy less irritating.

As she was in her own thoughts, she heard a knock on her window. She turned her head and saw Luke waving at her. She sighed and opened the window. He passed white packages to her as he kept them at the back of the car. Done with all, he turned around and entered the car.

Juliet held out a pack and took out a hamburger. She handed one to him as she started eating.

Despite Luke's blabbering, he was equally hungry.

"Hmmm. Taste good!", two voice sounded at the same time. They glared at each other before snorting. Juliet turned her head as he smiled. Unbeknownst to her, Luke was also chuckling.

They had a quick breakfast before resuming their journey. Juliet didn't know when she fell asleep with a juice cup in her hands. Luke glanced at her and took the cup gently from her hand. Her beautiful face was filled with anxiety and excitement at the same time. He could guess why she fell asleep. She probably didn't sleep early yesterday.

When Juliet woke up, it was already almost 2 pm.

"You're awake?", a voice sounded besides her. She turned and Luke was still driving calmly.

She cleared her eyes and peered outside. Woah! They were passing by a large amusement park. There was a very large roller coaster looming over their heads.

She suddenly remembered how kids get to visit places like this with their parents. "Childhood would have been great with memories like this. " she muttered.

"Never been to an amusement park?", Luke asked.

"My father is always busy and my mum....you know " she shrugged.

A glint shined in Luke's eyes.

"We'll arrive there at most an hour." , he said.

Juliet's sadness immediately vanished. Finally! She couldn't stop her heart from beating. I hope she is the one.
