Chapter 6 The Plan

****Kentana****

We have two days left, and I'm not sure if we can get this in time. This case is so complicated for being what suppose to be an easy claims case.

Like Peter promised he got my mom and dad a hotel suit but I was still have to stay on the pack land. Being here I got stares and growled at. Some were nice and polite. Even though I was allowed to walk on my own Peter or Dembe would be right a long with me. Charlie had been busy locating this so called first cold one. So far she came back with nothing.

I went by the river Dembe wasn't to far behind. With a worried look on my face I sat by the river. I heard crunching of the rocks behind me. What's wrong Dembe grew concerned. I looked up and said I don't think we are going to win this case without that will. Dembe in his black suit and white tie sat next to me. You will find another way. Being a lead attorney has to be hard. I know Being Peter's beta is hard as well as terrifying.

How did you become his beta and what is a beta. Dembè looked at me and said I was sick dying of cancer, Peter knowing me since we were young couldn't bare watching his bestfriend die. So you were human? Yes, he replied. Did you know of his kind before he turned you? Not particularly he told me but he never shifted infront of me so I was skeptical.

Betas are the next in command if Peter is away on a business trip I will be the one to take charge. If he dies I will be the next alpha and if he steps down. There are omegas where they are part of the pack but not as high ranking. The wolves you see around are omegas. Wolves are strong in numbers weak by themselves. The alpha is the leader, we do what we are told rather we want to or not. Once the alpha has a luna he becomes stronger and wiser as well as the pack. The luna brings peace for the alpha. Peter is slowly growing angered. But he had a mate I replied so shouldn't he be okay. No, once the luna dies or she breaks the bond all that goes and that's when the anger and sadness comes in. Peter is going slowly. Can't he just choose another mate. He could but that pain from the first is still there. It will only suppress slow it down you can't stop the inevitable.

There is second chances but that's very ever rarely.

Then it came to me, we can ask for more time. We have found more evidence just have to get to it. I smiled and thanked Dembè. For he said smiling. We can ask for more time. I jumped up and asked if he can take me to the court house. I ran to the house got dressed in a nice outfit. Left a note on Peter's desk.

We had arrived to the court house. We had walked in. How may I help you. Yes I would like to put a motion in for Mr. Thomas case. Can I have your name please. Miss. Lang Mr. Thomas's attorney. Okay what is the motion you would like to put in. We have discovered something new and we need more time to get this information. If you could sit over there. I raised an eyebrow. For I had asked. Usually the judge will let me know in an hour or so. Miss. Lang this case has been going on for a year so the judge requests he sees Mr. Thomas's attorney in person. I rolled my eyes and said okay and sat down.

I sat there for 15 minutes worrying about if this would work. The sectarian and looked at me and said the judge will now see me. She pointed to the door on the right. I knocked and a deep voice said come in. Have a seat Miss. Lang. You had requested more time why he said sitting in his chair with his black robe on. We had discovered something new I replied. How long are you asking for? He asked me. A week, I asked. He rolled his eyes. I will grant you the week but for the sake of your job miss Lang make it worth my wild. I had contained my excitement and told him thank you your honor. God only knows if Richard gets his hands on that power the wolf and human race will no longer exist. So you know? He laughed of coarse I am human of course but I deal with fueds between wolves when they have property on ucaimed or human land. Now go before I change my mind.

****Peter****

Will you stop fighting it Alec said. Fighting what? That kentana you know the olive skinned afro v shaped face beautiful dark brown eyes that get mistaken for black is our second chance. Our second mate. Hence why we feel so anxious when she isn't around. Worried when she is in danger. You know a well as I if she was any other lawyer that we had we would have left her for dead not fight the elders to keep her safe.

After this is over maybe Alec, I will tell her. I am not even in the state of mind on having another mate.

Alec, was right any other lawyer we had I would let them die. Just like the one in the looney pen.

I told her don't talk to others about this case cause she end up telling the wrong person and what she go and do gets drunk and told the wrong one. I didn't and haven't done anything to help her. She should have listened to me.

But with Kentana from the moment I saw at that dinar as my waitresses, I couldn't help to try to be nice to her. Kentana is smart graduated high school 16 and started college at 17. She didn't even have to do anything to earn her scholarship to b Harvard her grades did it all. She has an amazing mother and father are very successful and unfortunately don't like my kind. I don't want her to choose over me or her parents.

BAM!! My door swung open. My eyes flickered from blue to bright blue I showed my Caines and Kentanas face into a happy having a grin on to face to a petrified look on her face and screamed and backed away covering her mouth. Dembè came running in half shifted is everything alright he asked. Ummm.. yeah she looked up and tucked her straighten hair behind her ear.

Dembè nodded his head and left my office. I'm sorry I replied you startled me and Alec. It's a reflex type of thing. We don't scream our wolves take control for a minute. Of coarse I see what he sees when shifted so if it's something like this I can calm him down and let me have control. Are all wolves like that she said still kind of shaken.

Yes, but sometimes some can't control them it takes a lot of bonding and patience. You guys aren't bonded already?

Haha I had laughed we are bonded by the vessel which is out human form but we don't share the same mind. We get our wolves at 16 if you are a late bloomer you have your wolf but won't do your first shift until 18. Each one of them lived before. So your wolf has lived before she said curiosity. Yes, but when we die as human form our wolves die to. Same thing happens in wolf form, of the wolf dies so does our human half. We share the same organs and heartbeat.

This is interesting she smiled. Alec is handsome she said softly. But okay okay she said I have same great news. What's that I looked down at my water. We have another week. I got him to extend it. That's great news I replied. But I said, we haven't even located the first cold one. We don't even have a state or country. That could take a minute. Nope Charlie came in and said we just have to find the first one he turned. Which could be difficult because just here recently the cold one has been released cause a human back in the agent times. The first one he turned needed to protect his kingdom but didn't have the power. If they lost the war the other kingdom would take their little boys and men and train to go to war with pack in Paris. The only way he could cured is avoid the taste of human living blood, for three days. His last day, his wife was falling off a cliff and he tried to save her but she hit the ground and was slowly dying so his wife said drink and he did. The first cold was released and he is now looking for his first one.

So basically he has that flashdrive. Basically Charlie replied. My guess he is included in this whole beast thing getting released. Kentana said. So we need to some researching. Charlie try to find the location of his quote on quote firstborn.

We have to find out how he plays a part in this whole thing.

Walking and seeing Peter half formed really scared me. If I am going to stay being his attorney I will have to get use to him in his wolf form.

Pacing back and forth I wondered how we can get to the cold one first one before the cold one. We have to find his name first though.

Wonder if Peter has a library in this castle looking place. A knock came at my door, come in. It was Charlie. Hey any ideas how to locate this cold ones first? We have to find a name does Peter have a library? I do believe so she replied what year was this war for the kingdom? In the 1900 hundreds in England. Well we have a lot of reading to do.

Charlie and I walked to Peter's office. We stood for a second because we heard talking.

It was Peter's voice.

Birth parents? I said to Charlie. We will find more about this later but right now I said to Charlie we have to work on this case. Charlie hugged me and said I was an amazing human being. I am just a typical person Charlie I smiled. No she said you put others before yourself. Here we are finding out something new about you and you are putting Peter before yourself. The door had opened. Uhhh. Hi mom. Hi she replied is there something we can help you with. Uhh yeah. Actually Charlie interrupted we are here to talk to Peter. He's not in the best mood right now. It will be quick. My mom stepped aside and let us in. I gave a small knock on the opened door. Yes I heard in an annoyed voice. Umm.. Peter is there a library here? Yes, I will have Dembè excort you there. Hey we will win this case acting as if I thought he was upset about not finding the cold ones first. He gave a smile and said I know. I could see the worried look in his eyes. I knew he wasn't worried about the case that we were doing he was worried about me. For a cruel selfish person he wasn't so bad.

I am not sure if I feel the same, in the law field there was suppose to be no romantic involvement the client.
