Chapter 7 Obviously Partial

Yosef and Paige shared the same expression of surprise. "Who is there?"

Martin took his time as he stepped out the door.

"Who are you?" Yosef then switched his attention to Rebecca. "You really are great. You hooked up with a guy overnight? Who's this man?"

Martin had an air of serenity while having a broad grin on his face. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Martin from the Stevenson family."

Martin from the Stevenson family.

Because Yosef and Paige were both members of the upper class, they were aware of the significance of this short introduction.

"Martin?" Yosef frowned. "Isn't Martin...?"

Before he could even complete his sentence, he caught a glimpse of Martin's vacant eyes.

Instantaneously, Yosef choked on his words and did not speak again. He clenched his teeth and stared at Rebecca since Martin couldn't see him.

How was it possible for her to get in touch with Martin and the Stevenson family overnight?

Was Martin the owner of the car she got into the night before?

Martin had the support of the Stevenson family despite the fact that he was blind.

It was impossible for Yosef to risk offending the Stevenson family.

It would be easy to deal with Rebecca. However, things were different if the Stevenson family were to meddle.

After a few seconds, Yosef gritted his teeth and said, "What are you doing here, Mr. Stevenson?"

"After you divorce Rebecca, I'll marry her."

With wide eyes, Yosef and Paige looked at each other in shock.

They couldn't believe that Martin would marry Rebecca.

How did they know each other?

"Mr. Stevenson, you are free to choose the kind of lady you want to be with. Why do you desire a loose woman like her?"

Loose woman?

Rebecca was in such a state of rage that her whole body was shaking. It finally became clear that Yate viewed her as nothing more than a loose woman.

Martin broke into a grin. "Mr. Swain, you have been incapacitated throughout the whole of your more than one-year marriage. Don't you think you should have a better idea of whether or not Rebecca is a loose woman? On the other hand, Mr. Swain and Miss Potter, you two are the ones in the wrong. Adultery is a grave sin. Oh my goodness, this place is filthy and revolting."

Yosef and Paige were becoming more frustrated. Nonetheless, they refrained from taking any action against Martin.

Rebecca couldn't help but lift her eyes to gaze at Martin. Why did he help her?

Nevertheless, it was really enjoyable to see the two people in front of her get agitated.

Unfortunately, Martin couldn't see such a satisfying scene.

However, it made no difference to Martin at all. He merely urged, "So, Mr. Swain, have you decided on what to do next? Are you going to push through the divorce? Or do you want me to upload this recording on the website?"

Yosef clenched his fists, causing the blue veins on the backs of his hands to become more visible. He glanced first at the phone that Rebecca was holding, then at the bodyguards who were standing behind Martin. At long last, he conceded and said, "Fine. I will file for divorce."

Rebecca had never expected that they would get divorced so easily.

She left the court in a trance.

"Do you feel complacent?" Paige asked as she stood behind Rebecca.

Rebecca did not comment as she only moved her head to gaze at Paige.

"After marrying Martin, do you believe you will feel secure and develop an air of superiority? The Stevenson family is rather influential, but you choose the wrong Mr. Stevenson. Everyone in the city is aware of the fact that Martin is blind and that the Stevenson family has given up on him. He is a cruel and icy individual. According to the gossip, he has even committed a murder."

Rebecca's brows shifted ever-so-slightly. When she went to the Lynch family's residence, she also heard Rosina say something like that.

According to Rosina, Martin was responsible for the death of someone.

"It is out of the question for a blind person to inherit the Stevenson family's properties. After all, Martin has a twin brother, Milton Stevenson. The decision that the Stevenson family has made is never a secret. Milton is the one who will take over the family properties. It is common knowledge that Martin and Milton do not get along with one another. Try to anticipate what will happen to Martin when Milton becomes the head of the Stevenson family." Paige gave a chilly grin. "You can only hope Martin will be able to protect you for a life time. Otherwise..."

After making that statement, Paige grabbed Yosef's arm and walked away from Rebecca.
