Her mind came to a stand still as Edwards voice rang in her ear requesting her to remove her backpack from her seat. How this situation had taken a drastic turn shocked Sarah's nerve. She transfixed her gaze to the floor as she reached from her back pack and strapped it at the back of her seat.
Zenith had formed the center of her existence and this made her to even shudder the more. She really missed her bubbly nature and warm personality which always reassured her that everything would be all right even in the worst of circumstances.
She recoiled back to her cocoon and her mind as usual quickly shut to sip the information that the teacher had for the day. She did not even turn her face sideways and just looked like a robot.
The lesson finally came to an end and students started chatting around breaking the silence that head loomed in the room.
Edward: Hello, my name is Edward" was what the new guy quickly managed to utter after class.
The atmosphere was tense. Sarah's heart beat started beating so erratically as she gasped for breath. She slowly turned her face side ways to steal a glance at Edward to collect the most of his appearance in the shortest time possible. She managed to see that he had inky dark hair, a strong defined masculine jaw line with streams of side burns on the edges of his face.
Sarah: Hello, I am Sarah," she managed to reply with a voice that almost sounded as a whisper with no sound of warmth in it.
Edward said something else as soon as she had returned her gaze at the pile of books which lay in front of her desk. She could make nothing out of it but managed to throw a piercing gaze at Edward which made him shudder.
She would occasionally smile when she remembered how the cheeky Zenith would react if she had come at that time in the room.
"Hey Miss Silence, I guess I have to move as you replaced me with someone else," she imagined her saying this. This is what Zenith used to call her when they were together alone. This was because Sarah had the habit of maintaining her silence in the case that someone else joined them for a conversation or anything else.
She managed to tell herself that the guy should not waste his brain cells ad energy trying to make a conversation with her. When the lessons ended that day, Sarah packed her books in her back pack and began making her way out of class.
From the corner of her eye, she could make a figure trailing her. Her body was high on adrenaline at this point as this was not what she was used to. She made her way towards the gate and the figure was still trailing her. She suddenly turned to face the bull by its horns.
Sarah: You again? She managed to say as she creased her brows at Edward.
Edward: I thought we would walk home together. I am not a bad guy you know," he managed to say in the kindest voice that he would manage.
Sarah: No, thank you. I am fine. She retorted with a menacing voice as she retraced her steps to walk out of the compound leaving Edward utterly shocked at this girl.
He had tried to establish a relationship with this girl who seemed so cold that he wondered what the reason was. He was transfixed to the ground for a period of time before dialing a number on his phone. "This must be a very strange place with strange people," he thought to himself.
