She kept on searching untill she came to a stop in front of a room on the second floor. the door was screaming prominence. it looked different from the other doors of the house, sounds like she found his room. Jasmine pulled the knob, opening the door to get in and the first thing she saw was Noah with his long fingers holding her phone and beating the phone screen lightly with his fingernails before turning it to the table edge with a curious look on his face, like he'd never seen a phone before.
"What are you doing with my phone?!" asked Jasmine, she caught him wanting to bang the screen on the table.
He turned to her with a pissed look for distracting him. "There's a rule of what you're expected to do Ms. Ricot, and yet you did not memorize them, barging into my room like that, don't do that again," he warned, she rolled her eyes, folding her arms with an angry look on her face.
"Now, go outside, knock on the door, and then we can talk." she thought he was joking, still standing with her foot glued to the marble tiles. he gave her an obvious look, "Ms. Ricot? your time is ticking, you only have fifteen minutes to lay your complaints, and that's if you do as I say."
She walked out the door again, knocking on it, he yelled 'Come in.' without lending her his attention. She checked to see her phone and he had successfully cracked the screen, and badly.
"My phone-!"
Noah handed her a new one, "You can thank me for this." it was more costly than hers but she'd prefer to have her own back except he would give her her sim.
"Thank you, and the number?" she asked.
"You won't be getting it until after the baby is born. you have no business with the outside world for now. there's a new number in there linked to mine." he pointed to the phone. "You can only contact me or Jeremy, that's If you need anything."
He was a bigger fool, she had earlier saved all her files to the clouds, including her contacts, it was easy to get them back.
Jasmine quickly left Noah and went back to her room, she crashed on the bed, "not bad though..." she remarked while tossing the phone.
She switched it on, going to put her password so she'd recover all her files, but it showed *Password incorrectly.* she remembered clearly that her password was glued to her head, she used it for everything!
She tried again a few times and this time, it came with a warning, the system asked her to stop trying and then she realized he may have done something to the phone, she tried the other features of the phone and they had so many restrictions, she was unable to access social media with the new phone. Jasmine felt like breaking it, but no... she had to explain to him, she took the new phone with her, marching back to his room and the door was wide open. remembering his words, she decided to peep through and knock, but no one was there, perhaps he had gone out, She slowly walked in, looking around. she did not get a good view the first time she came, she felt the need to touch the fancy things in the room, it looked beautiful. the paintings were a grey color, black curtains and some old wall painting of strange people with life horns you could actually hold on their heads. and shields perking out the wall.
The people on the painting, they did not look like normal people and by the picture, they were engaged in immoral acts, perhaps he painted them himself, If he did, then he was a good painter.
A huge mirror covered the whole ceiling, the marble tiles were shiny and showed her reflection, there was a huge black couch at the side and a door leading to Perhaps another room. she wondered if he slept on the couch or if he had another room, there was no bed in this one. The room had a dark and crazy personality just like Noah did.
she moved to the drawer, it had a fancy handled made of gold which she pulled out, she found a bunch of disassembled strange-looking weapons, they had curve looking blades but were separated.
she drew out the second drawer and heard a small noise, when she turned her attention to the door, a pocket knife passed right behind her eye to stamp on the wall, giving her a small cut on her upper cheek, if she moved the wrong way, she would have lost an eye, she held her chest, panting hard for having escaped getting injured, or worse, losing her life.
"Are you trying to kill me?!"
"It's a small talent I have, how's my aiming?" he asked, she put her hand on her pounding chest, "Now tell me, my little flower girl, Why did you enter my room?"
"I-I..." she cringed. she had no answer to give.
"You're becoming a nuisance and it's only hours since you arrived here." he sucked in so much air, her presence was already frustrating him in less than five hours of her being here, this was why he disliked humans, too curious, and it puts their fragile body in trouble.
"You are a guest here," he uttered.
"really? and what kind of host would take away their guest's phone and changes their passwords?"
"I have explained this earlier and I do not enjoy repeating myself Ms. Ricot. You should be planning to be a mother, search for a good diet for yourself, etc.. you don't need your old phone, it's useless and half blank, I don't see the reason why you did not get a new one before now."
"You changed my password, why would you do that?"
"you also don't need that... I told you earlier, cut all your connection with the outside world for now. I will tell you your password after the child is born and given to me."
"Uhhh?..."
"Ms. Ricot, dinner will be served soon, you should be down at-" he looked at his watch quickly, before turning back to her, "Now. dinner is ready," he announced.
He held her shoulder, pushing her out of his room.
"Now you will keep your little feet from here, Go on," he said, she pivoted back like she had more to say, and he wasn't interested to hear, she heard a quick bang on the door.
She paddled her feet down the quiet hallways, and the stairs till she was back in her room.
She sighed. she needed to talk to Debby real quick, but not with this restricted phone, perhaps she could talk to him tomorrow again, he might be joking... she threw the phone on the bed, going to the bathroom to take a quick bath and changing to one of the dress arranged in the closet, it was her perfect size.
*At The Table*
"We lost our old chef and until tomorrow, there won't be a new one, I asked Jeremy to do his best to make you a good meal, Taste it and tell me if he's worth giving a good tip or a spank."
She smiled, looking at a shivering Jeremy before digging her spoon in the cheesy pasta with some sauce. it wasn't so good, but it was ok for a learner.
Edible.
"It's good," she said with a mouth full, she'd prefer it if they let her make her meals.
He smiled at her, and then at Jeremy who drew out his seat to start his meal.
she extended her gaze to Noah's bowl-like plate which wasn't revealing the meal he was having, but the spoon he put in his mouth was soaked in deep red.
what sort of a meal was that?
Noah noticed she did not eat, her eyes were fixated on him while lost in thoughts. she had a staring problem, that's for sure and she had to fix that sooner, it was annoying.
"What are you staring at?" his words hammered her back to her senses.
"Uhm... nothing."
"It's rude," he commented. he lifted the bowl, drinking all the content at once before wiping his mouth clean.
"I'll leave you to finish your meal, and remember to sleep early, we'll see the Doctor very early tomorrow." she nodded her head with a hum.
Noah walked past Jeremy, "Keep a close watch on her, she can be too intruding at times. she should not go in my room, not again." Jeremy heard his voice, but his lips did not move, he had a smile on his face, the creepiest.
******
"Let me introduce you quickly to my friend." he said, his extremely warm hand was still wrapped around her waist, "This here is Doctor Simone Mikaelson." the doctor reached out his hand to her, "Hello." His hand continued to feel hers with a questioning look to Noah, Noah smiled off, separating the doctor's hand from her quickly.
"Now, let's focus on our main reasons for coming here, don't you think so too Simone?" his mind was screaming, A human!!! why would Noah get a human to be the mother of his child??! There were vampires everywhere.
"I'd like to speak to you, I'm sure you know what it's About," said Doctor Simone.
"We can do that later, I will leave the girl with you, if you do this early, we'll be getting the baby pretty soon." he left the doctor's office.
Doctor Simone took her to the bed, preparing for a quick check-up, and a nurse walked in to accompany him.
"How old are you, Ms. Jasmine?"
"21." she stared at the ceiling, her hands were over her stomach.
"You're pretty young, you know that?"
"Hmm."
"Don't mind me asking dear, what does a young girl like yourself want to undertake Surrogacy for? I mean, you've never been in a relationship with any man, and now you want to bear a child for someone you barely know."
'She doesn't know who Noah is, she'd wish she knew him once she gets pregnant,' the doctor thought. Noah was Three times her age, he just looked younger because he was a vampire, and vampires barely get old.
He had no good qualities at all and was full of himself, only a few of them could stand him, and the doctor was included in those few. and the ladies, they felt nothing but lust for him, and behind that great figure and beautiful face, there was a demon living inside of the coat he wore.
The doctor had no intention of discouraging her, he just wanted her mind prepared because she signed her death warrant the day she involved herself with Noah.
"If you don't want to answer me, I'll understand, it's your privacy."
"No, I'll answer. I will tell you. I... I am doing it for Money." she sighed to free herself of the congested air, threatening to seize her breath. she had not talked to anyone about this, she had no one except Debby, and she hasn't spoken to her, she would ask Noah to let her speak with Debby later today.
"I need the money so bad, I feel useless as of now, I was recently sent out of my home by my aunt- I mean stepmom." she was both to Jasmine.
"Oh... poor you," he said pitifully. "You can sit down, be relaxed." Said the doctor. he came over with a small wire, tying her elbow with it to find her veins. "It will sting you a bit, hold still," he warned... he brought an empty syringe out of his pocket, cleaning it quickly with a ball of cotton wool before injecting it in her arm to draw blood. she flinched a bit, but he held her still until he withdrew the amount of blood he wanted from her.
"That does it." he beamed.
"It's painful," she commented, opening her eyes slowly.
"In this world, nothing is sweet, and in the end, we're all reduced to nothing. gone, useless and we can only reminisce and regret on the wrong decisions we've made, that's if we're aware of who we are here and all that we've done, otherwise, as the people of the church say it, you'll be condemned to hell." she looked amazed by his word, he grinned slightly, "Don't mind me, my love for poetry makes people get the wrong impression on me. did I scare you?"
"A bit," she said honestly.
"The results will be sent to your home later today, but I can tell you that you're fit and ok for whatever you want to do, Noah just wants a professional confirmation..." he muttered the last words.
"Goodbye, Ms. Ricot. we'll see tomorrow for the insemination." He helped her pick her purse and jacket and handed them to her. the doctor escorted her outside. Jeremy was already waiting at the front of the hospital, waiting for her to finish.
Seeing she was out, he came out from the driver's seat and opened the back door for her.
