*I knew she was trouble*

Jeremy knocked once before opening the door, he found Noah picking his teeth with a dagger, "What news have you brought for me?" he asked Jeremy, turning to him and taking time to look at every expression on his face. he wanted to know If he failed him by not persuading the girl, the boy did not look optimistic, he looked messed up and tired, he did have a long day, he never enjoyed associating with the humans.

"That girl, I don't think she's a good option for you Noah, she will put you in so much trouble... She queries everything," he complained.

"And who do you think you are to tell me that? just an ordinary boy I picked from the streets." he sneered. his words reminded Jeremy of the time he spent on the streets till he was abducted and the time Noah saved him from being a test monkey to Elliot's and the others' first experiment, that was where he got his addiction with the substance Noah had with him in a small bag.

"You would say, 'Boss, I did not mean you harm, I'm just watching out for you.' but well I have all those. I can watch my back perfectly. I knew she was trouble when I asked you to get her."

"I did not mean to annoy you, Noah. you should try to relax sometimes ." he said.

"Well if you're not so useless, and you're able to do the damn job right, I would be relaxing." he was quick to always misunderstand people, and Jeremy had learned to live with that.

"I wasn't done talking Noah, she agreed to come to see you. I told her you'll explain the job to her clearly." A knife flew past his arm. he gave Noah a terrified look, Noah smirked.

"Maybe you're not so useless. What?" he asked Jeremy who was still staring at him, "I just got excited." he cleared. Jeremy pulled out the knife from the wall with much effort and dropped it on the couch.

Noah dipped his hand in the pocket of his robe, and threw a small bag to Jeremy, "For a job well done. you've grown so much, learning to annoy me less and work more, I'm proud of you." he had a contented smile on his face.

"What is this boss?" Jeremy asked and he hurriedly loses the rope which tied the bag together, there was an old parchment paper inside which had something wrapped in it. he unwrapped the paper and found a small grey powder inside, his face morphed into a wide smile, he quickly dipped his hand in the content, having a taste of it. his head pushed back as he moaned lightly, appreciating the taste of whatever substance was there in his tongue. his Iris slightly darkened when he opened them, he felt more good than usual.

"Thank you," he uttered. he was already feeling out of himself for the past weeks.

Even though Noah pretended not to care about anything or anyone, he cared for 'Family.' he was used to rewarding Jeremy with the substance so he doesn't lose himself. The substance was forbidden in their world, he still had ways to get it.

"You should have some rest before it's time to pick my little girl up."

Jeremy's eyes were locked on his attires, he knew he wanted to ask questions, "I went to the council earlier today. the elders had some matters that needed immediate attention. where did you think I got the bag?" he chuckled.

Jeremy bowed his head quickly and left.

"First of all Ms. Ricot, you will listen when my Boss speaks, in this way, you'll be able to pick up some details and then..." Said Jeremy. she did her best in focusing all her attention on him, but it was hard staying without a blink, it almost felt as if she was going for an interview of some sort... she was anyway.

The drive was a bit long and a silent one. Jeremy pulled his car in front of the entrance. The hotel was a beautiful one, she had never heard of the name until now.

He took her to the presidential suite at the 10th floor, walking swiftly and having her running after him in an attempt to meet up with him. it was already 7 PM and Noah would be angry at this point. he was a time keeper himself.

Jeremy swiped his card on the door, waiting a while to hear a ding sound before the door automatically opened.

"Wait for a while, I'll call him." He led her to sit on the couch before leaving her. he came back in less than a minute with another man. She did not feel so good about this person but it was hard to take her eyes off him... there was something about him that felt-

Noah was already dressed like a perfect gentleman, He formed a smile on his face before coming to sit on the chair next to hers.

he gave Jeremy a quick look, signaling him to give them some privacy.

Jeremy walked out of the room, closing the door in a way that had her flinch from her spot.

"Jasmine... Jasmine- it's a beautiful name for a delicate flower girl." Noah played with her name, she covered her distaste for the way he called her name with a simple look.

"Look in front of you, I'm sure you can read." She had already seen it, reading the heading and a few words from the first page, and there was no way she'd be taking this job. he took a quick look at the papers. He supposed she must have read the contract, it was lying on the table and looked a bit ruffled, not the way he had kept it. humans and their curious little acts.

Noah took a good look at her. she had a small oval face, A pair of little bead-like bright eyes which looked innocent like she'd never hurt a fly, a small button nose, and thin lips. she had auburn waving hair, cascading down her to her waist, her slender figure matches her small face. She was a beautiful girl but she did not know that, she looked less confident of herself. Noah was glad that it was easy to oppress this one and make her do whatever he wants.

"About the job, I'm sorry, I can't take it." she rejected, she pulled her bag closer to her, contemplating what to do next, but her first option would be to run out of here before he gets a chance to say a word.

"Oww... we haven't had the chance to talk much and yet you're rejecting my offer so quick? Tell me why you don't want this? atleast give me one or two reasons. I need to know."

Is he crazy? Which young girl of her age and in her normal senses would accept to be a surrogate.

"I think I'm not the right person for this, I can not do this. from what I heard about Surrogacy, I think it's best to get an experienced mother."

"Really? I did not know that." he acted oblivious to her explaination.

"Did you read the papers clearly? I'm sure you must have seen the price I've offered to pay for your service, I will give you two hundred thousand, that is not included in your insurance and other care, Ms. Ricot. it will be enough to start your life all over after the child is born, and no one has to know that you bore a child, because I will be taking that child." her eyes widened at the sound of two hundred thousand! he was right, it would be enough to start her life allover.

"We're not having any sexual relationship, everything we're doing is business and nothing more. I am paying you for being the egg donor and also to carry my child and after that, we would go our separate ways and you can think of this as if it never happened."

"I-I"

"I did not ask anyone to monitor you but I know you no longer have a home, you are currently squatting at a friend's, what if you both have some feud and she sends you away? you'd be on the street. you recently lost your old job and the one you're currently hired on, I could send someone to fire you, if that's what you want." he was talking so much all at once, how come he knew so much about her?

"are you threatening me?"

"No, I am not. I'm just making you understand that you have nothing to lose if you accept this offer, you are in a win-win situation. you'll have so much money to start the brand you've always wanted to, ." he gave a warm smile.

"I'll think about it."

"I will give you three days then."

She picked her bag quickly, running off like he was going to hunt her down and eat her.

Noah watch her run off with a smile on his face, there was no way she will would be rejecting his offer.

She took the next few days to reflect on her life... she had never been so lucky to get a job which offers to pay her an amount she would spend her whole life toiling for and not getting it.

She decided to check once more if they had found someone else or if the spot was still open.

it's not like she has anything to loose and anyways they would be paying her so much money if she agreed. she searched her things for the number Jeremy gave her, calling him... he replied her quickly and told her he would be picking her up the next morning, his boss was out for some work.
