Chapter 5 Episode 4

Juliet fumbled with the door keys, she'd had just gotten inside the gate when she heard Mara's screams. Her heart beat fanaticallly as she ran to the door trying to get it open.

Though she was still in between work hours, she had taken excuse to get an important documents which she had carelessly forgotten.

Mara's scream made her hurried up in unlocking the door, she rushed inside and the sight she saw made her gasped.

She quickly rushed to Mara and then struggle between helping her up or calling their neighbor, Alistair to come help her.

Finally, Juliet rushed Mara with the help of Alistair to the car, comforting her as Alistair drove.

They got to the hospital sooner, all while Mara never knew where she was pains was all she felt as she kept squirming.

Juliet and Alistair quickly rushed her in, Juliet had to excuse herself once they were inside to get the attention of the nurses.

Shortly Mara was rushed inside a room where they assured her that the doctor was already on his way.

The nurses help in calming her down while they awaits for the doctor.

It didn't take long when the female doctor walk in. Mara sighed in relief as she sighted her.

"Intern Mara, you would be fine just relax " the doctor assured, slipping in her gloves.

"Take in a deep breathe" The doctor advised and Mara did as she was instructed.

"Exhale" She instructed, and again Mara obeyed.

"Are you ready? You would be fine trust me! Now, Push!" The instruction came again and Mara tried as she used the little strength she have left from screaming to push, She'd felt as though she would be fainting soon.

"You're getting there, push harder! "

Mara sigh heavily as she panted trying to catch her breath, she once again try pushing while the doctor bent over in observing the baby movement.

"You need to push just one more time, you're getting there! " The doctor encouraged.

Mara heart almost sank when she heard she would be pushing again, there was no strength left in her again and by the Gods!, she'd was sure that she was out from the world as she could only view the room spunning in a circular orbit and hearing little voices.

She regained her senses when she heard a voice louder " Mara Push, your baby life depends on you! " then it all dawned on her, her baby! She needed to push. Gathering all the strength she had left, she let out a loud cry as she pushed with everything in her and just then she felt something slipped out from her leg and immediately followed by a baby cry.

"it's a bouncing baby boy! " the Doctor announced.

Relief washed through Mara as she heard the cry of her baby, it was hers. After several miscarriages she'd could give birth to a baby she calls hers.

Tears gushed down her cheeks as she glanced weakily at her son and from that moment her eyes met with her child she swore that she'd do anything in her power just to raise him up.

Slowly, she closed her lids as sleep over took her.

She woke up minutes later propping her eyes opened as she glanced to her right where Juliet sat cradling the baby in her arm.

"Congratulations Mara, you did it! " Juliet beamed as tears moistened in her eyes.

Mara let out a little smile as she glanced down at her son in Juliet's hands, she stretched out her hands to hold her baby for the first time and when she'd carried him, she felt like the whole world had seized as her inner mind suddenly felt calm.

"Maxwell" she muttered out as she beamed down on her baby.

"That isn't cute enough, I'd call him Darlington" Juliet chipped in as they both named the baby.

"Wait.... isn't that rain? " Mara asked alarmed at the sudden drizzling noise.

Juliet turned at the window before she could stand up to go get a clearer view, she was halted by the thundering noise she heard.

Baby Maxwell slipped into the world at 3;15 pm on a rainy Tuesday. Not only was he extraordinary, he possessed all quality of an healthy baby.

Mara smiled as she recalled the word her mother had frequently said rang in her hear, "After a rain there's always a sunshine!" Maxwell was her own sunshine.

Glancing at her son once more, her lips curl into a smile as she planted a gentle peck in the toddler forehead.
