Chapter 4 Episode 3

Her eyes bulged out as she glared at the lines in the test kit, this can't be true! She muttered as her heart sank deeply.

She sighed dejectedly as she saw the activation of the positive lines, she is a nurse after all and so she knew it quite well.

She swallowed her saliva as she inhaled deeply, a hot streak of tears met with her cheeks and then she wiped it off, she'd never knew when she started crying.

Her heart race heavily, She was with child not just any child but the almighty Gerald's child, her Ex husband.

"Come out, Mara. What's taking you so long? " Mara could hear Juliet voice clearly and then she dragged her feet back to the door.

She'd had just gotten outside when Juliet snatched the test kit away from her, "It's positive?" Her voice rose and Mara nodded her head.

"My assumption was definitely correct then! "

"Yeah, it was" Mara nodded as more tears gushed down her cheeknever I... So, what are you going to do now? Would you go back to him? "

"Of course not! I'm not going back to that hell of a marriage not now, not ever! "Mara screamed as she raked her hand over her hair agitatedly then she sat down dejectedly on her bed.

"That what are you going to do about it, Abort it? " Juliet probed further.

"No, I don't think that would be an option either.... Let's just see, you know I've never gone past five weeks before... "

"So are you saying there's a possibility you miscarry? " Juliet eyes propped widely as she sat down close to Mara.

Mara had her hand on her head, she pinched the bridge of her nose before replying her, "Sadly! " she humph out.

"Then why not abort now? " Juliet suggested. She placed her arm on Mara's shoulder as if consoling her.

Mara flinched then she turned, "Juliet! " she scolded. "This is unbelievable, how could you suggest that, who knows if the child would survive? "

"I was just suggesting, so what are you going to do?"

"I don't just know, Juliet. But one thing I no for sure is that, Gerald isn't going to be aware, promise? "

"Promise! " Juliet beamed as she crossed her heart.

Weeks passed with Mara growing the child in her, she'd felt it in her that the child had come to stay.

She'd always wake up checking each day if she'd see any sight of blood,just like a wind she went past five weeks.

Her joy knew no bound when she started observing the swell of her stomach, she'd thought it was all a joke and she'd loose it sooner not until she was in her final trimester, then she knew for sure that the baby had come to stay.

Though she'd had always been tempted to check the sex of the baby, but she'd always kicked against it as she wanted it to be a surprise. Each time she feel the baby kicking, she'd always refer to it as a baby boy.

With a bulgy stomach, she had to stop working extra shift and thus it affected her internship. She'd had to stop working at one time when she felt she couldn't contain the stress. However, she had to depend on the savings she had made while she was still married. Thank God Gerald didn't deprive her of it.

Her pulse quicken as she felt something watery trickling down her thigh, She'd had just bent down to get the last slice of bread she was eating that had fell.

Mara needed no one to tell her that her water had broken. Still, she doubted it as she stood up back and try to take a peep. The sudden sharp pain she felt halted her as she screamed out for help instead.

Unlucky, Juliet wasn't yet back from work. Her heart pounded heavily as she tried to reach out for her phone that was on the couch.

She'd struggled for minutes and finally when she'd get the phone she quickly placed a call through.

Her heart sank deeply as she listened to the auto-response. Juliet number was switched off and now she is doomed as she have to struggle to get out of the room to seek for help.

The pain she was feeling between her thighs made her doubted if she'd make it to the door.

She screamed out in pain as it worsens, she'd had always encourage most women to bear the pain but there she was affected by the aftermath.

Just when she thought no one would come to her rescue, she suddenly heard the fumbling noise of the door.
