Chapter 3 Episode 2

Just two nights before she left her matrimonial home, she'd recall Gerald coming back home drunk that night and then they had passionately had sex, she'd could recall that he had murmured out something after their love-making, with his tone holding a tinge of guilt but she couldn't make out of what he murmured.

Juliet gasped once she'd heard her friend confession, her hand went across to her hair as she paced tho and fro in the room while Mara lay hafly on the bed.

"You should try this first, for all we know it's just an assumption but this should confirm" Juliet handed to her the pregnancy test kit.

Mara stretched her hand collecting the paper test kit and the strode to the bathroom back dragging her feet as she walks.

She closed the door behind her as she leaned on it praying within her that it shouldn't indicate positive. She never wanted anything to do with Gerald and with his seed inside of her she wouldn't have no option.

Her heart skipped as the thought of returning back to him hits her.

She recalled the first time she had first met him, she'd was going for a project class and was late for it. She'd never wanted the struggle of rushing to the restroom to change to her uniform so she had taken the stress of waiting and had dressed up from home.

Unluckily for her, a car which she hadn't seen coming splashed water on her sparking white uniform, her face scrunched up as she ran after the car. "The reckless driver needs to be put in his place, it dare splashed water on her without sounding a horn and care not to apologise" she had fumed inwardly as she ran past it blocking it's path as she spread her arm wide in it's front.

The car came to a halt just as she expected and then, the driver stepped out from the car.

"Young lady what do you want?'' He asked as he closed the door of his car stuffing his hands into his pocket.

"Are you blind not to notice that you splashed water on me?'' she had casually tossed at him and he had smiled down at her, that smile that had smelt away all form of anger she had for him and instead of anger she ended up staring into his handsome face taking in his handsome features from his chesnut curly hair, to his long dark lashes, pointed nose, well-set jawline and then to his moustache that makes him look more manly. He smiled again and she almost lost it as she grinned sheepishly, she could swear that she saw a flash of his dimple when he smiled, she'd thought dimples never fits guys but not this particular dude that was standing at her front.

His sky blue eyes stared into her brown pooled eyes and for a second, Mara thought she was in heaven as she was seeing things she couldn't fathom.

He cleared his throat as he darted his gaze away from her. She jolted away from her nasty thoughts as she recalled why she had him on a halt.

"You splashed water on me few minutes ago and I'm having a practical class which I'm already minutes late" she explained, this time politely as she glanced down at her wrist watch.

He'd had apologized and had offered to get her new one, upon hearing that she'd had been very happy as she had been having struggles with her savings in getting new ones.

Truly, he got her new one's and had dropped her off not without getting her number though.

She'd had gotten to the practical class and had thought she'd be punished but she was spared and instead of punishing her the board members all respected her. She'd never knew the reasons to their strange actions not until they got married together and he had revealed it to her.

That night after the incident, he had called her and had once again apologized to her and then had inquired if she had any troubles. She had replied that she had none.

She'd had always seen him as an ordinary guy not until she had brought him home one day and had introduced him to Juliet. Juliet had pondered on where she'd had seen his face and then she recollected that he was the present heir of the Browns company. She'd had gasped and had told Mara about it who still doubted it until she confronted him about it and then he had confessed.

She'd thank God on bringing luck to her side, her joy knew no bound when he tied the knot with her but everything changes just like a flash of light.

It started after her second miscarriage, she noticed he became so distant and when she queried him about it he used the word Busy and apologies to wave her off.

It became worse at her forth year of marriage when she couldn't take, she'd had gone to several hospital and she had conducted several tests but still the medical results came out that she's medically intact, she was givenn different kinds of procedure's to go through and after every procedure, each results yields nothing.

She became worried when she couldn't give him an heir, and his Aunt started nagging at her, calling her barren and other sorts of irritating names.

She'd would cry all and he had always comforted her that everything was alright, and they might adopt kids if eventually they couldn't raise one. Mara had kicked against the idea of adopting and had vowed to herself to do everything possible to raise an heir for him.

Luckily, his mother wasn't pressurizing her like his Aunt was.

Gerald had always stood by her like he had nothing up his sleeve and had been fooling her all along.

But now, that's all in the past , she's now back to her single life.

Glancing at the pregnancy test kit in her hands she proceeded to make use of it.

Her eyes bulged out as she glared at the lines in the test kit, this can't be true! She muttered as her heart sank deeply.
