Chapter 4 TWO FAMILIES

CHAPTER FOUR: FAMILY MEMBERS

GAVIN AND HIS FAMILY HAD relocated to Port Prime where they lived as a happy family. When Cher was four, Talia was pregnant and that was the year they moved to Port Prime.

They were three children, Cher aged eighteen, Viole at sixteen and little Rollis aged twelve.

"Hey Cher, please drop your brother to school." Talia called as Cher was picking up her files and walking out.

"Mommy, I have peace meeting right now, and a business meeting at two in the afternoon. Why don't you wake up Viole?" Cher stood looking at her mom.

"Viole said she's sick and here, Rollis is late for school." Talia said.

"Sister, I want pancakes before we leave." Rollis, who was now in mid school said.

"Ooh, please... am already ten minutes late Rollis!" Cher said.

"But... sister..."

"Rollis shut up!" Talia commanded her stubborn son.

"Mom, what's wrong with Viole? Sick? She didn't tell me anything." Cher asked.

"Just drive your brother to school."

"Rollis, follow me."

"But sister!"

"heavens! Am thirty minutes late for the meeting, ok? Mommy will pick you up for whatever you want small boy. I'll make up to you in the evening." With that, Cher gently pulled her brother out.

Cher Lucille started advocating for peace and love when she was still in lower school. At twelve, she managed to attend the country's peace treaty. At eighteen, she was the advocate of peace in Port Prime.

After dropping little Rollis in school, Cher left for her peace meeting. She arrived almost half an hour late and found everyone waiting for her.

"Sorry am late." Cher said before starting the meeting.

"The key to peace and love between us is forgiveness..."

COUNTRY; HELION

Kevian was now the CEO of Blue-Sky company and Hayes was managing the Blue Oceans Company. After being disowned, Hayes later heard his father had adopted a son who had married Lucia, the daughter of the tycoon and was now the current prince of Helion.

In the evening...

As usual, Kevian came back from work in company of guards who ensured his safety. After changing, he walked to his study room where he spends his first few hours watching this particular tape he cherished most before burying himself in work.

But today, he didn't see the tape in its usual place. Angry, he walked out of the study room to the living room where his parents were.

"Son? Are you ok?" Sadie looked at the frowned face of her son.

"Where is the tape? Where is my tape? I gave the order no one is allowed to access that tape or even touch it!" Kevian said.

"I told you to forget everything about the tape and be serious with relationship issues." Hayes said.

"Dad am only eighteen!"

"I know, at eighteen, you're a CEO, what else do you want? You have money, power and strength. Eighteen is a figure. Someone is sixty but doesn't afford the luxury you get at eighteen. Besides, you're a big man who knows what he wants. What else?" Hayes said.

"Dad I can still wait for that girl, time isn't running out. Am sure by the time get thirty, she'll be in my arms."

The tape he was getting mad at was what was recorded during his parents' wedding. The girl who was driving him crazy was the same girl he kissed on that day. She was the same girl Kevian wanted to be with for life.

"Huh! Kevian don't get mad. The tape is safe in the drawer."

It was a family of four, Hayes and Sadie being the parents, Kevian and his sister Morel who was fifteen years and currently helping her parents with company work and also finishing her mid school and would soon be joining university.

After Kevian left, Sadie retired to bed for an evening rest. As Hayes continued watching. Morel was always picked up from school by the guards and sometimes Kevian would do her a favor when he was in a good mood.

While Hayes was still watching, his daughter walked in.

"Good evening daddy." Morel hugged her father.

"Good evening my daughter. How was your ride back?"

"Fine. I was told my big brother was in school. He came to pick me up right?"

"I don't know. He didn't say anything about your school."

"I was late but my classmates told me he came. You know everyone knows about Kevian because he always appears in style." Morel said while going to her bedroom. "I know mommy is resting now."

"Sure."

Morel replied. "I want to see my brother."

Morel went to her room to change and after which she went into Kevian's study room. As usual, he was busy.

Morel walked over and patted him softly.

"Good evening brother."

"Good evening."

"Huh! Is there something wrong?" Morel asked hands at akimbo.

"Can't you see am busy?" Kevian asked.

"Busy? Busy watching a tape, right? You've watched this damn thing for years and you never got bored with it?" Morel asked.

"You're really annoying." Kevian posed the video and looked up.

"You're the one who is annoying." Morel retorted. "What's wrong with you people today? Mommy is asleep and you? Always boring, busy in an intimidating suit."

Instead of replying, Kevian continued with the video leaving his sister complaining alone.

Kevian never hung out with friends, in fact, he didn't have any either. He was either in his bedroom, in the study room or in his office at work. Once in a while, though very rare, he would drop by in a hotel and enjoy a meal with his guards who were his great company.

Except for trying to act good for the sake of Morel, he was never that much into silly jokes or any kind of fun.

After some moments of talking alone, Morel stormed out of the room slumming the door behind her. One thing with the Hayes children was, they really were good at throwing a tantrum. When Kevian saw his sister storm out angrily, he simply shrug and continued with watching.

While Sadie was preparing supper, (Of course they had maids but Sadie would prefer popping into the kitchen once or twice when she was less busy, or didn't get tired with the day's work,) Hayes was busy going through a newspaper he that was always dropped at his home and his work place on daily basis. Today, he hadn't gotten enough time to read it earlier. He was busy at work and when he came back, he was with his wife. After which the evening news was aired and he had to watch that. So, this few minutes before supper, he decided to scan the paper in a hurry.

As usual, the politics came first. It was about the life of the King and his adopted son. When Hayes went against his father's words and chose his own life, the king adopted a son. He already knew that.

But today, there was something more, citizens of Helion demanded the return of the rightful owner of the throne.

"What?" Hayes said as he adjusted his posture.

"Dad!" Kevian, who had walked out of his study room in his stealthy style and was standing by the door frame looked at his father. "What startles you?"
