Chapter 9 Shopping mall.

When Jennifer heard that, she stopped what she was doing. Before he could say anything, Madison continued:

"Are you a wife and don't know what your husband likes to eat? William's hate dish is fish, especially braised fish."

Madison furrowed her brows in anger, but somewhere her eyes were somewhat disdainful and smug. She must be tacitly redefining the true relationship between William and Madison.

Suddenly, a large hand spread warmth on her skin. Jennifer turned her head to the side and met his gentle gaze. He did not speak, quietly took her hand up and gently ate the piece of fish left on the chopsticks that she picked up for him.

Madison widened her eyes at him in surprise, stammering:

"You... William, what are you doing? Don't you hate eating fish?"

He replied:

"Did I say that?"

"Right."

"Then you heard wrong, I like to eat fish. Also, Jennifer understands me very well, so it won't be the case that my wife doesn't know what I like and hate. Just eat rice, it won't taste good after it's cold. "

Finally, he turned to pat her head. She happily smiled back at him.

What you're doing is obviously protecting Jennifer. Being by his side from childhood to adulthood, Madison certainly did not misremember. He hates fish the most. Yet just for Jennifer, he was willing to do what he hated the most. Madison was heartbroken but couldn't do anything about it. Madison patiently endured and quickly ended this tasteless meal.

After stopping the meal, the three left the restaurant. Walking to the parking lot, he looked at his watch, then turned to Jennifer and said:

"Now, let's go to the mall."

She looked at Madison apologetically.

"And what about Madison?"

Madison smiled and replied:

"If you two are busy, go ahead. I can take care of myself."

William nodded, turned to Jennifer and said:

Let's go, there are still many things to buy!

She nodded.

He quickly opened the door and helped Jennifer get into the car. The car started to move out of the restaurant's parking garage. Madison watched the shadow of the black car disappearing, hands clenched into fists. When he stopped beside her, she thought he had changed his mind, but unexpectedly he was so indifferent to her. Madison held her anger in her arms and slowly walked to the main road to catch the car back to the hotel.

He and she went to the mall together. In the car, she occasionally glanced at him because she wondered what happened at the restaurant earlier. Her small action quickly caught his eye.

"Is there something difficult to say?"

She looked at him startled, then looked down and shook her head slightly.

"Nothing."

"The longer you keep it in your heart, the more uncomfortable it becomes, isn't it better to talk about it and solve it together?"

Her hands clutched at the hem of her shirt, silently thinking. After a period of hesitation, she also decided to speak her mind.

"I'm sorry!"

Surprised, he asked:

"Sorry? For what?"

"I didn't care about you. Simple things like what you like or hate, I don't know. I really have no use."

He turned to look at her. The beautiful face that always had a smile on it now became moody and sad. She is a sensitive person who gets upset easily but does not dare to cry in front of others. Now that she is pregnant, her mood is more complicated. He understood that well and did not blame her.

"You are not at fault, there is no need to blame yourself. Don't think too much and then affect your health."

"You're not mad at me are you?"

"Not angry. Besides, I really like the things you give me.

"Thank you."

She whispered softly. He turned to her and smiled, gently squeezing her hand.

"Don't mind Madison's words. You and her are over, and I don't have any feelings for Madison anymore. Don't be upset because of that."

"Did you...have you heard my conversation with Madison?"

"Just overheard. Jennifer, and this is what I want you to remember. "

"Please speak."

"Whether you are an ordinary girl, or rich and beautiful, I still love you."

His words made her burst into tears. Now, she really felt how much he loved her. She is not a perfect person, more accurately comparing the two is a pair of chopsticks. She is neither beautiful nor talented, and even dropped out of school halfway through. And you, a truly perfect person. Smart, talented, good-looking is the role model of many girls out there. It was easy for someone like him to find a girl hundreds of times better than her, but in the end he still chose someone with as many flaws as her. For her, that was more than enough.

She held his hand tightly, their hands intertwined. Sometimes care does not necessarily come from sweet words but from the smallest actions.

About 20 minutes later, the two were at the mall. He and she went inside together to go around the stalls to buy things to prepare for the new family member. This outing was really fun, the feelings that had been cold for a long time were rekindled. He bought a lot of things for his son even though he didn't know if the baby was a boy or a girl. Seeing him happy, she also rejoiced. She did not think that one day the cold, unapproachable general manager of a large company would have such cute moments.

Being a father for the first time, he wanted to prepare the best for his child himself. Partly because of wanting to experience, partly because of taking the experience of later births. He quickly went ahead to pick things up and she followed behind with a smile. It seems that during this outing, she changed from someone who needs to be taken care of, to someone who cares about others when she still has to look after her husband who wants to be a father for the first time.
