Chapter 8 Kaden

Linda and I kept in touch after that day, but to me it was just for the sex and sometimes her company which was getting better if she wasn't talking about our future and hopefully it was the same for her.

Levi and Steve think something is going on with me. I didn't pick up women from the club and there weren't any rumors going around about me which was a first as there was always something worth talking about.

I didn't confirm or deny their suspicion. I just left them to their thoughts which annoyed the shit out of them but again, it was fun watching them beat themselves up over nothing that concerns them.

"Sir, here is the final document from Mr Brown and he wants to know if you'll be free for lunch." Dina said.

"Yes."

Anything to bring in more money.....of course I have time for that.

The documents needed my signature and once I put it, the contract was sealed and I'd become an official stockholder in his company.

Putting the pen down, the business was sealed and by my time it was almost time for lunch already which means I would be meeting Me Brown soon.

"Send the details of the lunch with Mr Brown now." I commanded, once Dina picked up the call.

"Right away Sir."

I placed the call down and cleared up my table a bit. Contrary to what the paparazzi painted me to be, I actually liked doing some things myself and I don't use my employees like slaves.

"Wine and dine restaurant." I read the email my secretary sent, before chuckling at the weird choice of name.

Of course, we knew what we were coming there to do, no need to spell it out.

The door opened, revealing the person I least expected to see but I had to see even if I really didn't want to.

"Mom! What are you doing here?" I asked.

"What do you mean? I can't come and see my son again?"

She replied, as she made herself comfortable on the couch. She didn't stop looking at me though and I was already aware of the reason she came.

"You can, I'm just surprised that's all."

I excused myself to make a call, rescheduling the business lunch with Mr Brown because from the looks of things I wouldn't be done anytime soon.

"So mom, how's Dad?"

"You really want to know? The house is boring, I need a grandchild preferably grandchildren."

"Mom!" I exclaimed.."One needs to be married before any of those happens and I'm not ready."

"You think I don't know that?" She asked, glaring at me.

"Of course, you do." I murmured.

"I had you when I was your age and I'm happy now because I can relax."

"That would mean Dad was a bit older than I am now." I pointed out.

"That's besides the point. Your grandma and I finally came to a decision already and I think you'll be happy with it."

"Grandma is in on it too?"

"You're lucky I'm the one that's sitting here instead of your grandmother."

"Do I even want to hear the decisions you concluded at?"

"Linda told me about all your dates, and I'm happy you too are getting along since you'll be getting married in the future."

"What?"

You would think it was no big deal with the way my mom said it, or that it wasn't my life they were planning.

"Don't be shy. I know you don't like sharing this kind of thing with your mother, but Linda is a nice girl from a good family."

"Mom! I can't get married to Linda."

"Any particular reason why, son?"

The next words that came out of my mouth was a shock even to me because it felt like I didn't have control over it.

"Because I have a girlfriend whom I love so much." I lied.

"You have a what?...... you think I'm dumb right?" She yelled.

For once, I was grateful for the soundproof walls because I was certain her voice would've sent my employees running for the hill.

"Mom calm down, I assure you that it's not what you're thinking."

"I know you don't have a girlfriend and you only said that because you don't want to get married to Linda."

"Of course, she gets it."

"It's complicated, I had a fight with my GIRLFRIEND, that's why I accommodated Linda."

"You're sure?" She asked, looking for any traces of lie.

"Of course I'm sure mom."

"I'll tell your grandmother and we want to meet your girlfriend."

"No problem, once I apologize and she forgives me you'll be the first to know."

"That's my baby. It's good that you're finally growing up. I actually thought I would have to wait for a long time before it happens but look at you today."

I tried my best to participate in her happy dance but what I really felt was dread. How on earth am I supposed to come up with a girlfriend when I was fully aware of the fact that all the ladies I know we're either with me for the fame. That was why my previous relationships lasted for a week or two and now I'm supposed to be in a relationship with one.

"I would say your dreams are coming true."

"I think they are. And don't worry, your girlfriend would forgive but you have to be sincere with your apology."

"Yes ma, I'll remember that. Be sincere." I told her.

With the way she was smiling, you would think I've just given her the world and I dreaded the moment she'll find out it was all a lie.

Groaning internally, I watched as my mom went on about being the luckiest woman in the world. I really needed to talk to Levi even though I know he would make fun of me for a bit but at least, he'll help come up with something.

"Bye son, let me go tell your grandmother. I'm sure she's expecting me and please eat more, you've lost too much weight." She said, making her way out of the office just like the way she came in.

"How would I eat more if you took my lunch break?" I thought.

Now that all that was over, it was time to start looking for a girlfriend.
