Chapter 4 Kaden

Findings.

When I wanted Steve to investigate someone for me, I didn't expect that he'd start with me. Sometimes I wondered how we became friends with the amount of bugging that he did.

"So is she beautiful? Because I don't know why you'd want information on one of your one night stands." He asked.

"You'll find out when you're done with it." I replied simply.

"What did you say her name was?"

"Goddammit Steve, did you listen to anything I said?" I swore at him."

"Maybe...or maybe not. Just tell me."

"Leila Andrew."

Before he could go on talking, I ended the call at least he knows what he's looking for now.

I went down for dinner before settling to look at the document Dina had sent earlier. The thoughts of my one night stand were pushed to the back of my mind to be visited later but business came first.

When I got back to the office the next day, I was more relaxed and comfortable for reasons unknown.

"Sir, this came in from a Mr Steve this morning." Dina said.

"Yes, thank you." I collected the file she was holding, and I was eager to get to it.

"Anything else, Sir?"

"A cup of coffee, no cream or sugar."

"Yes sir."

I tore the envelope open as it was sealed and I lacked patience to open it properly but what I wasn't expecting was what I saw instead.

She was nineteen years old which was a relief that I didn't sleep with an underage, and in her second year studying Business administration.....well she's a smart one too.

The shock came when I saw who her parents were. Matthew and Stella Andrew were also owners of hotels just not like mine but I really don't consider them my rivals.

Shawn, her boyfriend of three years, was the heir to his father's company and their parents were in support of their relationship because they were aiming to join companies through their marriage.

I'm surprised that she was still a virgin after three years of been with her boyfriend so the next piece of information which was a picture of her boyfriend and another lady didn't surprise me.

"I just heard something interesting from Steve." Levi said, when he called.

"That's good, I'm happy to know you're having conversations with him."

"I'm serious Kaden, what are you doing?"

"I was just curious, and now I'm satisfied."

If he didn't believe me, he didn't say instead he just hummed.

"So did you find anything about her yet?" He asked, even more curious.

"Her parents are the owners of Cameron Hotels."

"Like the same Cameron hotels? Isn't their daughter rumored to be in a relationship with the heir of freedom hotels?"

"It's not a rumor, I think they're probably going to get married in the future so as to combine their business."

"Well..... shit."

I folded the documents back into the envelope since there was nothing else to read about her and I wished her well if she eventually gets married to him because they were only in a relationship and he was already seeing other girls....not that it was any of my business though.

I knew everything that was supposed to be known about her, but it was time to focus my attention on making more money.

Taking all the documents that I needed to review and sign for my other branches, I got to work cutting away distractions...... just one major person but it still counts.

The office phone rang, breaking me away from my train of thoughts and at that moment I could fire whoever it was.

"Yes?" I asked, harshly.

"Sir, you have a visitor." My secretary's voice said.

"Is it on my schedule for today?"

"No, but...."

"I don't want to see them then." I said, before slamming down the phone.

I was still mad that my attention was broken and that I have to look for a new motivation to continue my work when the door was pushed open with Dina trying to hold the person away.

"Sir, I told her she couldn't be here but she didn't listen. I'm sorry."

"It's okay Dina, you can go now."

If eyes could kill, I wouldn't be alive anymore because of the way Linda was glaring at me.

Linda was a very beautiful woman that I had a date with courtesy of my mom and grandma, and since then I've been promising to get back to her which I haven't.

"Linda, what's going on? I told you I'd get back to you."

"And guess what Kaden, I've been waiting for two months but you know what didn't happen? You didn't call."

"I've been busy, you should understand." I told her, trying to gather the documents because I knew nothing productive would come out with Linda standing in front of me.

"You think you can fool me? I know about your one night stands and you're lucky I haven't told your parents yet." She threatened.

So the thing is that my dad believes in me, so pressuring me to get married was out of it. While my mom wants a grandchild because she claims the house was getting boring without much noise. My grandma was the worst of all, she just wanted me to settle down and the rest, which included great grandchildren, would follow.

"What do you want this time?"

"What do you think I want? But first, let's go on another date."

I knew there was no use in arguing or even trying to refuse her.....it wouldn't end well.

"Ok, just send me the time and location."

"Be a gentleman and pick me up." She said, making me smile a bit.

"Yes ma'am." I joked.

After that was settled and she was more calm now, she made herself comfortable on the seat and looked around before turning her attention to me.

"Apart from your usual one night stands, what have you been up to?"

Resisting the urge to groan when she mentioned one night stand again because my mind went back to my most recent one.

Linda's eyes were trained on me, analyzing my expression and with everything I knew about her, she was good at telling when something was up.

"Can you stop looking at me like that?" I asked.

"If you don't have anything to hide, start talking." She said simply.

"What have I gotten myself into?" I thought.
