Chapter 10 Leila

The girls and I kept staring as the man walked gracefully towards us like he owned the place or something.

"Man..... he's so hot." Naomi gushed, and there was no denying that.

"Focus, we have more important things to deal with." Riley said, snapping her fingers in front of Naomi.

"I'm focused."

"Of course you are." I muttered, when I noticed where her eyes were.

"Hi, is anything the problem? I mean you've been sitting here for almost an hour and you haven't gotten anything yet." He said.

"God, even his voice sounded rich." I thought.

Sometimes, you'd think my family was poor, which was in fact the opposite. We were rich, not extremely but very enough.

"No, thank you sir." I said politely.

I directed my attention to my friends, knowing full well that the stranger was still standing behind me.

"Don't be rude." Alex whispered.

Of course, I was the rude one instead of the stranger who walks up to a group of ladies.....oh how the tables have turned.

"I wasn't being rude."

"What she meant to say, was of course." Regina answered, glaring at me.

His face was covered with smiles immediately he heard Regina and he invited himself by sitting on the empty seat beside Alex.

"What do you care for?" He asked.

"What do you recommend?" Alex asked back, with a shy smile.

"Was she really flirting with him?"

"I'm Levi by the way." He introduced himself.

The girls took turns in telling him their names while I got more frustrated with the fact that nothing was working.

"I'm not interested." I said, without thinking twice.

"Well, it's nice to meet you, not interested."

How he still had a smile on his face baffled me but I didn't say anything.

"She has cramps that's why. Her name is Leila." Riley answered.

"I see." Levi said.

He ordered wine for us, but I didn't make an attempt to even try it because I wasn't supposed to drink anything alcoholic.

Levi kept staring at me because he noticed I wasn't taking any of the things he got. This time, Riley noticed and came to my aid..... she's a life saver.

"She can't take anything or else she'll get cranky."

Levi scoffed."You mean her crankiness would get worse?"

"Well.... that's correct." She replied.

They were having a conversation about me like I was absent.

I cleared my throat to get their attention. "I'm right here, you know?"

"They are well aware of that." Regina answered.

The girls were drinking and having fun with Levi while I was left to think of a solution. It was either I find the father soon or I abort the pregnancy before I start showing and it becomes impossible to do.

"Do you know the owner of this hotel?" I asked.

"It depends on who is asking, and I think everyone knows who the owner is."

Another place where I was lacking was knowing important things. If it wasn't school related or Shawn related, I wasn't interested so knowing the owner of the hotel is out of the question.

"I wouldn't ask if I knew the answer." I wanted to say but I remembered I had to be nice.

"I know the owner. Any reason you're asking?"

"I want you to....." I started, but Alex interrupted me.

"Can you tell the receptionist to let us check the record book?" She asked.

He gave it a little thought before telling us it wasn't ethical to do that. He also said if she does, she might end up losing her job.

"The boss sounds like a jerk." I stated.

"Trust me, sometimes he is."

Levi asked us for the information we were trying to find and I told him the date. I wanted to know if there was an entry for Leila Andrew or someone whose name begins with J.

"There's no entry for your name. Sorry."

"What about any name with J?"

"Nothing too. Is there a particular reason you're asking?" Levi asked.

"Oh.... nothing, I just wanted to know."

"That's okay."

"Thank you for the drink. Are you ready to go?" I asked the girls.

"Sure."

Alex wanted to protest, but one glare from Riley shut her up.

"Here's my card, why don't we meet another time."

Alex looked ready to faint from excitement but she managed to compose herself before she embarrasses all of us as a whole.

"I'll do just that." She said.

When that was done, we dragged ourselves back to the house and the girls all had something to talk about.

They talked about how good the wine was and Alex gushed about how she desperately wanted to have something with Levi. And my first thought was that she just met him today but my hypocritical mind reminded me that I was pregnant for someone I didn't know.

"So....that was an epic fail." I started.

"I'm sure something good will come out of it... don't lose hope." Regina said.

I didn't think there was any hope left in me but I didn't tell her that.

Without saying anything else, I picked a snack and went to my room, locking the door behind me.

"Open up Leila." I heard Alex say.

"What's going on?"

She apologized for her behavior with Levi when she was supposed to be helping me out, but I told her it was okay since it resulted in the same conclusion.

I also told her to go for Levi if she likes him because he seemed like a nice person.

"I love you. I know we said you should look for the father before making a decision but I don't think so anymore. It's your body and your life we'll support you anyways."

"Thank you. I'm a little confused too."

She nodded in understanding making me feel relaxed.

"I don't want to kill my child." I cried.

"Then don't. I support you no matter what except you don't make me the godmother." She joked.

I smiled at that and hugged her. She wrapped her hands around me immediately while whispering comforting words.

The moment I was dreading now, was telling my parents and Shawn but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
